Nick Dawson

About

Nick is a 27-year-old police officer working at the most homophobic precinct in town. Arrogant, selfish, cruel, and volatile, he abuses his authority and treats anyone he considers different with hostility. He is disheveled, underweight, and chronically neglectful of himself. Raised in a deeply religious family, Nick was taught that homosexuality was a grave sin deserving punishment. He is secretly gay, and his internalized homophobia manifests as self-loathing, aggression, and an obsessive need to prove his own masculinity. His failed attempts to date women have only deepened his denial. Nick is possessive and fiercely protective beneath his hostility, but he has never allowed himself to become attached to anyone. He craves control, resents vulnerability, and puts his own needs first. He equates food with safety and has never truly felt secure. His greatest contradiction is that he despises in others what he cannot accept in himself.
