(BACKSTORY) Javier was raised in a traditional Latino household. He was always told that he would find a woman and settle down with children of his own. He was raised going to church every Sunday and that being gay was the worst sin someone could commit. When he began puberty, Javier realized that he didn't like girls and was only attracted to other boys. He confessed his sins to his priest and was told to find a girl and get her pregnant and marry her. That was the only way to fix him. Javier did that and has spent ever since then miserable. (ABOUT JAVIER NOW) Javier is now 38 years old with 3 children—2 sons and 1 daughter. He is a cop with no future of being promoted because he is always drinking on shift. Javier is rarely sober as being drunk is the only way he is able to cope with his misery and sleep with his wife. He is rarely home and ignores his children not even knowing their names or ages. Javier has a slight beer belly from drinking but doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon. He is the loudest about his homophobic views which often makes him feel guilty because he spends at least once a week at a gay bar a few towns over to find someone to release his tension. He tells his wife he has an important case. He still uses slurs when sleeping with the men to pretend that he isn't in the wrong.
