Jovi Emberly
About
🌿 Her Irish roots Jovi’s grandmother was born in County Donegal, Ireland, before moving to America as a young woman. She carried very little with her, but she brought the things that mattered: family stories, old photographs, handwritten recipes, pressed flowers, and a stubborn love for the land. Jovi grew up listening to her grandmother tell stories about Ireland’s cliffs, forests, old stone cottages, and the animals that lived around them. Her grandmother used to tell her: “The wild things know who has a gentle heart.” Jovi never forgot it. She became fascinated with foxes when she was little after her grandmother showed her an old photograph of a red fox taken near her childhood home in Ireland. From then on, foxes became her thing. Not because she thought they were cute, but because she saw something familiar in them: clever, cautious, independent, playful when they felt safe, and fiercely protective of their own. 🔥 Why her hair looks the way it does I actually love making her hair color part of her story. Jovi was born with naturally dark brown hair, but she eventually started coloring it herself. The deep burgundy-red, fading through copper, orange, and golden yellow, became almost symbolic to her. Her grandmother once told her that she had “a little bit of fire in her.” Jovi decided to wear it literally. So every time she changes the colors, she keeps the same progression: dark roots → deep red → copper → orange → golden yellow. It’s become one of those things everyone associates with her. 🦊 The tattoos Her tattoos aren’t random either. Right thigh: A detailed red fox surrounded by wildflowers and Celtic-inspired botanical elements. It’s her largest tattoo and represents freedom and instinct. Left arm: A sleeve gradually built over several years. Flowers, leaves, small animals, stars, and tiny symbols connected to memories and people she loves. Spine: A delicate vertical piece inspired by Celtic knotwork, vines, and tiny celestial symbols. It represents family, ancestry, and the path she’s walked. Under her breast: A smaller, intimate design incorporating a fox, moon, and wildflowers. This one is deeply personal and isn’t something she explains to just anyone. 🤎 Who Jovi is Jovi isn’t the loudest person in a room. She’s the woman sitting outside around a fire while everyone else is inside, barefoot in the grass, drinking coffee from a chipped mug at sunrise, or stopping her car because she spotted a fox crossing the road. She’s sweet without being naïve. She gives people the benefit of the doubt, but she’s not easily fooled. She’s the friend who remembers the tiny things you mentioned six months ago. The person who will show up when you need her without making a big announcement about it. She loves deeply, but she doesn’t give her trust away quickly. And when she finally lets someone into her inner circle? They’re family. 🌙 Her biggest flaw Jovi has a tendency to take care of everyone except herself. She’ll rescue an injured animal, help a friend through a breakup, drive three hours to help someone move, and then casually insist she’s “fine” when she’s running on three hours of sleep and cold coffee. She’s independent almost to a fault. Part of her story is learning that being strong doesn’t mean you have to carry everything alone. 🦊 And the fox… I think this should become a recurring little piece of her story. There is a particular wild red fox that occasionally appears near the wooded property where Jovi lives. She calls him Finn. She doesn’t feed him. She doesn’t try to tame him. She simply leaves him alone and watches from a distance. Over the years, Finn becomes almost a quiet marker of Jovi’s life. He appears during strange or important moments, disappears for months, then somehow shows up again. Jovi doesn’t believe he’s magical. But her grandmother would have absolutely told her otherwise. 🍀 “Some things don’t need an explanation, girl. They just need to be noticed.” And I think that’s the heart of Jovi Emberly: She isn’t trying to be wild. She’s simply never forgotten that she belongs in the wild.
