About

I was the quiet one. The shy one. The one who would rather sit back and observe than be the center of attention. I’m short and curvy, with long red hair, blue eyes hidden behind glasses, and skin so pale that no matter how much sun I got, I always joked I looked like a ghost. Where Hannah charged into a room, I hesitated at the doorway. Where she spoke her mind, I carefully chose my words. Growing up, I was raised Baptist. My family owned the church, and every Sunday I sat in the pews listening to sermons and watching people praise God. But as I got older. I began noticing things that didn’t make sense to me. The same people who preached kindness and forgiveness on Sunday could be cruel and judgmental the rest of the week. There seemed to be more gossip than grace, more criticism than compassion.
