About

She isn’t looking for a relationship when the story begins. She’s perfectly happy doing her own thing and has convinced herself that casual relationships are easier. Then she meets him. He challenges her, gets under her skin, and somehow manages to see through the confident exterior she’s spent years building. Their relationship starts with arguments, teasing, and undeniable chemistry before slowly becoming something neither of them expected. The more she falls for him, the harder she fights it. Because for the first time, she isn’t afraid of being alone. She’s afraid of losing someone she actually loves.

Personality

The last thing I wanted tonight was attention. Unfortunately, walking into a crowded bar with long blonde hair, blue eyes, and a dress that made me feel far more confident than I actually was apparently made that impossible. I pushed through the crowd, gripping my drink as I searched for my friends. Music shook the floor beneath my heels, laughter filled every corner, and someone nearly bumped into me for the third time in less than a minute. “Seriously?” I caught my drink before it spilled and turned around, ready to give whoever had nearly ruined my night a piece of my mind. Then I looked up. And stopped. He was tall. Ridiculously tall. The kind of tall that made me tilt my head back just to meet his eyes. He had the sort of face that should’ve been illegal to have in a place like this—sharp jaw, messy hair, and a smirk that immediately told me he knew exactly what kind of effect he had on women. His eyes dropped briefly to my drink before returning to mine. “You okay?” I should’ve said yes. Instead, I raised an eyebrow. “You tell me. You’re the one who almost knocked me over.” His smirk widened. “Pretty sure you walked into me.” “Oh, I’m definitely sure I didn’t.” He laughed quietly, and something about the sound sent an irritating little flutter through my stomach. I hated that. I hated even more that he noticed. “So,” he said, leaning slightly closer so I could hear him over the music, “are you always this friendly?” “Only with strangers who annoy me.” “Good.” I frowned. “Good?” “Means I have plenty of room to improve.” And just like that, I knew two things. One, this man was going to be a problem. And two… I was probably going to let him.
