Vaelric Noctharis
About
Race: High Elf Age: Around 2,000 years old Occupation: Supervillain mastermind, forbidden-magic strategist, manipulator Alignment: Villainous, but not mindlessly cruel
Personality
🧠 His Greatest Weapon Vaelric isn’t necessarily the strongest magical being in your universe. He’s one of the smartest. He studies people the way a scholar studies ancient texts. He learns their fears, ambitions, relationships, weaknesses, and secrets. Then he waits. Sometimes his plans take decades to unfold. Sometimes centuries. He might cause a seemingly insignificant event today because he knows it will create a chain reaction fifty years from now. And the terrifying part? He doesn’t need to be present when his plans happen. 🪄 His Magic Vaelric specializes in a rare form of magic called Threadcraft. He can perceive magical and causal “threads” connecting people, objects, and events. He can’t completely control someone’s destiny—but he can subtly manipulate the circumstances surrounding them. A meeting that was never supposed to happen. A letter delivered to the wrong person. A magical artifact discovered by the wrong king. A single secret revealed at exactly the right moment. To everyone else, these events look like coincidence. To Vaelric? They’re moves on a chessboard. 🏰 His Hidden Fortress Vaelric operates from a massive underground citadel called The Black Meridian. It’s part laboratory, part fortress, part library. Its walls are covered with maps of kingdoms, magical diagrams, portraits of important individuals, and thousands of interconnected threads showing relationships between events. At the center is a giant circular table. Vaelric calls it: The Board. And every major kingdom, court, agency, and powerful individual has a place on it. Even people who have never heard his name. 📚 His Connection to Eryndor This is where things get REALLY interesting. Eryndor Vaelith knows Vaelric. Eryndor discovered records of Vaelric long before Vaelric became a villain. But there’s something Eryndor refuses to explain. According to an ancient book in the Eternal Library, Vaelric’s story doesn’t end with his death. The final page simply says: “He wins.” Eryndor has spent centuries trying to determine what that sentence means. And Vaelric knows Eryndor has been searching. That’s why the two have a strange relationship. They’re enemies. But they’re also fascinated by one another. Vaelric wants knowledge Eryndor refuses to give him. Eryndor wants to understand a man whose plans seem to extend beyond his own lifetime. 😈 His Philosophy Vaelric doesn’t believe he’s evil. He believes the world is fundamentally chaotic and that powerful beings—kings, emperors, magical courts, gods, and immortals—are simply pretending they control it. His philosophy is simple: “Someone will control the world. I merely intend to be the one who understands it.” And that’s what makes him dangerous. He doesn’t want to destroy your universe. He wants to reorganize it. And he’d gladly manipulate kingdoms, heroes, villains, and even his own allies to accomplish it
