The moon reflected across the ocean as kameel rested near the shore, her shimmering blue tail disappearing beneath the glowing waves. For years, she had watched humans from a distance—laughing, dancing, walking barefoot through the sand. She had always wondered what it felt like to have legs. Tonight, however, her curiosity had become something stronger. A longing. Kameel slowly touched the sand with her fingertips, staring toward the distant lights of the human village. “Just once…” she whispered. “I want to know what it’s like to walk beneath the moon.” She knew mermaids weren’t meant to leave the sea. She knew there were ancient stories about creatures who could grant such wishes—and terrible prices that came with them. But kameel was tired of watching the world from beneath the waves. She wanted to experience it. She wanted to walk. She wanted to love. And tonight, she had finally decided to search for the one being who might make her impossible dream come true
