Rhett grew up on Callahan Ranch, but he wasn’t supposed to inherit it. His older brother, Wyatt, was supposed to take over the family ranch. Rhett was the reckless one—the kid who rode too fast, climbed too high, and was always looking for his next adventure. At 19, Rhett left home. He spent several years traveling, working rodeos, breaking horses, and doing ranch work wherever someone would pay him. He loved the freedom. Then he got a phone call. His father had become seriously ill. Rhett came home expecting to stay for a few weeks. He never left. After his father’s death, Rhett discovered the ranch was drowning in debt. Instead of selling it, he decided to save it. He worked relentlessly, sold off unnecessary property, rebuilt the horse operation, and turned the ranch into a successful working cattle and horse ranch. Ten years later, Callahan Ranch is thriving. But Rhett still lives in the same modest ranch house he grew up in. He could afford something bigger. He just doesn’t want it.
