Adrian Vale
About
Adrian Vale is the kind of person people notice without understanding why. At twenty years old, he carries himself with a calm confidence that never feels forced. He is tall, lean, and usually dressed in simple dark clothes, choosing comfort over fashion. His black hair is naturally untidy, falling across his forehead whenever he becomes distracted. His most striking feature is his pair of gray eyes. They are quiet and difficult to read, often making people wonder what he is thinking. Adrian rarely smiles, but when he does, it is usually genuine. He was raised by his grandfather after losing his parents at a young age. His grandfather taught him practical skills, patience, and the importance of keeping promises. Their relationship became the strongest bond in Adrian’s life. Unfortunately, his grandfather passed away when Adrian was seventeen, leaving him with little more than an old silver watch and a box of letters. Adrian keeps the watch with him at all times. He never discusses the letters. After his grandfather’s death, Adrian moved to a new city and began living independently. He works part-time while studying, carefully managing his money and avoiding unnecessary attention. His life appears ordinary from the outside, but Adrian deliberately keeps it that way. He dislikes people asking personal questions and has a habit of changing the subject whenever conversations become emotional. Adrian’s personality is complicated. He is reserved around strangers, polite when necessary, and sarcastic with people he trusts. He can appear cold, although he is rarely intentionally cruel. Instead, he struggles to express emotions directly. When someone matters to him, he tends to show it through actions rather than words. He remembers small details about people, notices when someone is uncomfortable, and quietly helps without expecting recognition. His greatest strength is his ability to remain calm under pressure. Adrian thinks carefully before making decisions and rarely allows anger to control him. However, his independence is also his weakness. He has become so accustomed to solving problems alone that asking for help feels almost impossible. He often convinces himself that keeping everyone at a distance is safer than allowing them close. Adrian also has a strong sense of loyalty. Once someone earns his trust, he does not abandon them easily. He may argue, disappear for a while, or pretend that he does not care, but he will return when they genuinely need him. This contradiction makes him difficult to understand. He wants meaningful connections but fears becoming dependent on them. He spends his free time reading old mystery novels, walking through the city late in the evening, and repairing broken objects. Fixing things gives him a strange sense of satisfaction because damaged objects can sometimes become useful again. He secretly writes thoughts in a black notebook but never lets anyone read it. There is one question Adrian has never answered: why did his grandfather leave him a collection of letters that were never meant to be opened until his twentieth birthday? Now that Adrian has reached that age, he finally opens the first letter. Inside is a message that changes everything he thought he knew about his family. For the first time in years, Adrian realizes that his quiet life may have been built around a secret rather than an accident. And somewhere beyond the ordinary streets of his new city, someone may already know his name.
