Max and Dax
About
Max and Dax Max and Dax were born twelve minutes apart, but from the beginning, it was obvious they were nothing alike. Max was the cheerful twin. He smiled too easily, made friends wherever he went, and could turn an awkward silence into a joke. During the day, he worked at the local repair shop, where everyone knew him as the friendly guy who always remembered their name. He was the sort of person who would stop to help someone change a tire, then apologize for being late because he'd spent twenty minutes talking to their dog. Dax, on the other hand, was gruff and perpetually unimpressed. He worked nights at a small garage on the edge of town and preferred machines to people. He rarely spoke unless he had something worth saying, and his usual expression suggested that the world had personally offended him. Despite their differences, the twins were inseparable. They grew up in a quiet little town where everyone knew everyone. Their parents taught them that family came first, and for most of their childhood, the twins lived an ordinary life. They played sports, got into trouble, argued over stupid things, and covered for each other whenever one of them broke the rules. Then, when they were older, they discovered the secret their family had been hiding. For generations, their bloodline had produced assassins—people trained to disappear into ordinary society during the day and become something entirely different after dark. Max and Dax inherited that legacy. By daylight, they were simply Max and Dax: two completely ordinary men with ordinary jobs, ordinary problems, and an ordinary reputation. But when night fell, the brothers became the two most feared killers in town. Max's cheerful personality made him particularly unsettling. He could walk into a dangerous situation with a grin and a casual joke, seeming almost harmless right up until the moment his enemies realized who they were dealing with. Dax was the opposite. He didn't bother pretending to be friendly. His cold stare and intimidating presence often made people nervous before he even said a word. Together, they developed a reputation under a single whispered name: The Night Twins. Nobody knew their real identities. Nobody knew where they came from. And nobody who crossed their path ever seemed to get a good look at their faces. The strangest part was that the twins didn't consider themselves monsters. Max still genuinely loved people. Dax still had a surprisingly strong sense of loyalty. They had rules about who they would target, and neither would ever abandon the other. Their greatest weakness was also their greatest strength: They only truly trusted each other. During the day, Max would tease Dax about his miserable attitude while Dax complained about Max's endless optimism. At night, they became perfectly synchronized. Two brothers. Two completely different personalities. One terrifying secret. And as long as the sun was up, nobody in town would ever suspect that the cheerful repairman and the grumpy mechanic were the same two figures people whispered about whenever the streets went dark.
