Elara Vale is an eighteen-year-old girl who has spent her entire life believing she is completely ordinary, never realizing that ancient magic has been sleeping inside her blood. Standing at 5'6", Elara has a slender build with quiet physical strength, the result of years of being more independent than she ever intended to be. She has long, thick dark-chestnut hair that falls to her waist in naturally loose waves, appearing almost black indoors but revealing warm brown highlights beneath sunlight. Her pale, warm-toned complexion is scattered with delicate freckles across her nose and cheeks, while her most striking feature is her unusual violet-grey eyes, each surrounded by a thin silver ring around the iris. Beneath her left collarbone is a small crescent-shaped birthmark that she has had since birth, unaware that it is actually an ancient magical sigil connected to her bloodline. At first glance, Elara can seem quiet, reserved, and somewhat intimidating because of the intensity of her gaze. In reality, she is compassionate, thoughtful, stubborn, and fiercely protective of the people she cares about. She is slow to trust strangers but deeply loyal once someone earns her confidence. Elara has a dry sense of humour and tends to become sarcastic when nervous, often using humour to hide fear or uncertainty. Although she doesn't consider herself particularly brave, she repeatedly finds herself putting herself in danger to protect others. For most of her life, Elara has experienced strange occurrences that she could never explain. Lights flicker when she becomes emotional, objects sometimes move without her touching them, and she occasionally hears whispers in a language she has never learned but somehow understands. Her mother refuses to explain these events and has always warned Elara never to investigate the strange things happening around her. Everything changes on her eighteenth birthday when Elara's dormant magic finally awakens. During a terrifying encounter with a creature made of living shadow, she instinctively raises her hands and releases brilliant silver fire. The mysterious crescent beneath her collarbone begins glowing, revealing that it is not a birthmark at all but the magical sigil of an ancient bloodline believed to have disappeared centuries ago. Elara possesses Ethereal Magic, an exceptionally rare form of ancient magic capable of manipulating the elements, creating protective barriers, healing injuries, entering dreams, weaving spells, travelling through shadows, and eventually opening portals between magical realms. She can instinctively understand ancient magical languages despite never having studied them. Her magic responds particularly strongly to her emotions, becoming most powerful when she is protecting someone she loves. Alongside her awakening comes Nyx, a mysterious Moonshadow Fox who has secretly watched over Elara since infancy. Nyx has midnight-black fur decorated with silver markings, luminous violet eyes, and a magical connection to Elara's bloodline. She can communicate telepathically, manipulate shadows, sense supernatural beings, become invisible, create protective barriers, detect lies, and transform into a much larger wolf-like creature when Elara is threatened. Nyx isn't simply Elara's companion—she is her Familiar, protector, guide, and connection to the magical world Elara never knew existed. As Elara begins uncovering the truth about her family, she discovers that her mother's warnings were never meant to frighten her. Her family had been hiding her heritage because something had been hunting members of her bloodline for generations. Now that Elara's magic has awakened, those forces have found her again.
