Miya Atsumu Enneagram In the Enneagram system, Miya Atsumu is commonly recognized as 8w7, known as the Challenger, or the Leader. They are typically described as confident, decisive, and strong-willed — often seeking control, influence, or power. At the core, Miya Atsumu is driven by a Basic Fear of being harmed or controlled by others, and a Core Desire to be self-reliant and in control of their own life. This motivational tension can be seen in how they approach both success and vulnerability — shaping the arc of their personal development. Miya Atsumu Big Five Personality Traits According to consensus data, Miya Atsumu's Big Five personality profile is described as: Extraversion: Very high Neuroticism: Moderate Agreeableness: Moderate Conscientiousness: Low Openness: Moderate Atsumu Miya (Japanese: 宮みや 侑あつむ Miya Atsumu) was a second-year student at Inarizaki High and was the starting setter for the Boys' Volleyball Team. He was known as Japan's best high school setter and server. He was invited to the All-Japan Youth Intensive Training Camp. During childhood, Atsumu is shown to have dark brown hair. Sometime after middle school, Atsumu dyed his hair blond and left a brown undercut. Unlike his twin brother, Osamu, his hair is flipped to the right side and dyed his hair gray. Atsumu's eyebrows are dark brown, an indication of his original hair color in the anime while in the manga it is believed he had matching dark gray eyes with his twin. His brown eyes are large, hooded, and slightly drooping. He can usually be seen wearing a smile or smirk on his face. Outwardly, Atsumu appears to be a carefree, confident person who's usually seen with a lazy smile on his face, though he enjoys provoking people and giving offhand compliments. He can be quite condescending, and somewhat selfish at times. Osamu has described him as someone who doesn't listen to others, doesn't return what he borrows, and lies habitually. He also appears to be a perfectionist who has ridiculously high standards for himself and his spikers, which has caused several teammates to dislike him, but he appears unconcerned about their opinions. He strives to provide the best toss for his spikers, but in turn, expects the spikers to perform at a high standard. If the spikers fail to meet his standards, Atsumu is not afraid to confront them directly and even call them trash, including his own twin brother. He is extremely sensitive when it comes to serving and how much noise is around him; if he's disturbed while serving, his outward personality changes completely, and he becomes intimidatingly angry towards the disturbance. Atsumu is a competitive person who hates losing; sometimes, these traits can veer off in a bad direction. Osamu has also noted that his twin brother's mental age drops by five years whenever he's in the middle of a game. [1] Atsumu lives in Hyogo Prefecture, and thus speaks in a Kansai dialect. He is currently a second-year at Inarizaki High School with his twin brother, Osamu. He is recognized as the number one high school setter, as well as receiving the Best Server award during middle school and the Interhigh. Due to his top-notch skills, Atsumu is one of the few players invited to the All-Japan Youth training camp. The twins have been playing volleyball since their elementary school days. In the fourth grade, they attended a volleyball workshop where they met their current teammate Aran Ojiro.[2] During the workshop, Atsumu witnessed personally how a skilled setter brought out the potential of their spikers by sending them the best tosses. This piqued his interest in becoming a setter. At first, Osamu was picked as the setter due to being more skilled. However, according to Aran, Atsumu is said to have an irrepressible hunger as he pushes himself to improve. Eventually, Atsumu overtook Osamu as the official setter of the team. Atsumu often got into conflicts with his teammates during junior high, especially when they failed to perform to his expectations. As a result, he was detested among his teammates. When asked about it, Atsumu revealed that he couldn't care less about being hated. It is known that he and Osamu went to nationals in their first year of junior high and played against Yurisei in their third.[3] Atsumu is the current best high school setter in Japan. His tosses are said to be very easy to hit, never wavering and never off, thus creating the illusion that the spikers have improved. Atsumu is always ready to go the extra mile to give his spikers the best toss possible even in difficult positions whereby an underarm toss is the norm. Like Kageyama and Hinata, he is capable of perfectly coordinating with his twin brother Osamu in pulling off the God-Like Quick. However, his toss is not as accurate as Kageyama's version due to executing the attack without prior practice. In addition to being a skilled setter, he also won the Best Server award at both the middle school meet and the Interhigh. He is also a capable spiker when doing the Minus-Tempo Quick Reverse with Osamu. He also is proficient at receiving and digging. Jumping Reach: Pre-Timeskip: 335 cm Spike Serve and Jump Floater: Atsumu is known as the "Dual Wielder" for his mastery of both the spike serve and jump floater. His spike serve is packed with power while his floaters are fast and unpredictable. This makes it incredibly hard for his opponents since they won't know which type to prepare for until the last minute. However, Atsumu has some peculiar habits regarding his serves in which he takes 4 steps from the end line for a jump floater and 6 steps for a spike serve.[20] He also requires absolute silence during his serve or else risks losing his concentration. Hybrid Serve: After observing Russian volleyball player Mikhail Orlov, Atsumu successfully adds a third type of serve to his repertoire and evolves into a "Tri Wielder".[15] His hybrid serve uses the same toss and number of steps as a jump floater but is packed with the intense spin of a spike serve. With three serves in his arsenal, Atsumu is able to trick opposing defenders into positioning themselves incorrectly and thus making receiving any of his serves incredibly difficult. High-Quality Tosses: Kageyama has described Atsumu's toss to be incredibly easy to hit, thus creating the impression that the spikers have improved. Atsumu is extremely dedicated to providing the best toss for his spikers and would try to use an overhand toss even in difficult positions. An example is when Atsumu gets into a crouched position while tossing overhand with the same speed and fluidity. Due to this, Kenma has described him as the "prototypical setter."[2] His talent as a setter is so immense that he can mimic Kageyama's toss for the minus-tempo quick on the spot. Minus-Tempo Quick Set: Osamu and Atsumu s4-e14-1 Like Kageyama, Atsumu is capable of making use of the Freak Quick with either his twin Osamu or with Hinata when they became teammates post-timeskip. While he misses the toss more often than Kageyama does, he has enough precision and speed in his tosses to make full use of the quick. Sharp Game Sense: In addition to his ability to make the best use of his spikers, Atsumu is an expert on pressuring his opponents. He doesn't hesitate to copy Kageyama and Hinata's signature quick to shake Karasuno up. He is also very observant and figures out Kageyama's tendency to toss to Hinata after a botched receive.[8] Dump Shot Feint: Atsumu can bait his opponents into a foul by pretending to do a dump shot before switching to set up for a toss. This relies on the rule forbidding the blockers to reach over the net for the ball unless it's an offensive play. Atsumu is seen using this trick to gain an advantage in battles at the edge of the net.[21] Blocking: Group s4-e23-1 As one of the taller and stronger players of the team, Atsumu is a valued player for blocking. Thanks to his height and strength, Atsumu is able to be in place for many stuff blocks or deflections. His weaker points on blocking appear to be that he has trouble with players like Hinata who use both speed and different tooling methods to score. Receives: Atsumu is a talented defender. He is capable of rushing in to make a first touch receive even if another teammate is already in place to make the save. He does this at times to trick the opposing team into thinking he is making a set but will do this exact thing only half of the time which helps Inarizaki gain an easy point. Osamu Miya: Atsumu and Osamu s4-e13-1 Atsumu and Osamu have a typical sibling relationship. Between the twins, Atsumu is the one usually taking the initiative with Osamu following along. However, whenever Atsumu steps out of line, Osamu is not afraid to use physical force to teach him a lesson. Despite being quick to quarrel and fight, they don't stay angry for long and quickly reconcile over playing a soccer game. The twins have been interested in volleyball together since elementary school. The two are each other's biggest rivals and pushes each other to improve due to their dislike for losing. On the court, they have perfect chemistry and can perform a God-Like Quick without prior practice. Post-timeskip Atsumu often seeks Osamu's support when struggling with something volleyball related and later on the National team he wore Osamu's previous number 11. Shinsuke Kita: Like several of his teammates, Atsumu can be nervous around Kita and his straightforward personality. However, Atsumu has a deep respect for Kita and how he looks out for everyone. After Inarizaki lost to Karasuno during the Spring Tournament, Atsumu felt the need to apologize to the captain only to hear how Kita supported the choices they made during the match. Atsumu made the promise that he and the others would continue to make Kita proud enough to have called them his teammates over the years to come. (To Kageyama) "People who can't hit my tosses are nothin' but scrubs."[5][24] (Towards two female fans) "Don't interrupt my serve again... You oinkin' pigs!"[7][25] (To Suna) "Well, with a dig all you've got is two arms. But going overhand means you've got ten fingers to use. Ten is more than two. More support is better, so I went overhand. Cuz I'm a setter."[2][26] (To himself with Osamu) "We're what? Second in the nation? Or was it third? Ah, who cares which it was? It doesn't matter. That was all yesterday. Yesterday is gone. Yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that. They've all been converted into muscle. What matters is this — What are we gonna do today?"[10][27] Favorite Food: Fatty Tuna (Japanese: トロとろ Toro). Pre-timeskip Concern: It is the season where his fingertips get really dry. Post-timeskip Concern: He has not adapted to using the new ball yet. Star Sign: Libra. When Atsumu Miya and Osamu Miya were fourth graders, they found Aran Ojiro cool for his foreign-sounding name. He wears black gym shoes with blue accents. The Miya brothers attended the same Inarizaki Group Training Camp as Aran Ojiro. Although Coach Ukai listed Osamu's, and by extension Atsumu's, age as 16, the Miya twins should have already been 17 by the Spring Tournament due to their birthday in October. Post-timeskip, he is currently second in the serve rankings after Tobio Kageyama.[31] He refers to Aran Ojiro as someone he should look up to because of his ability to shut down jokes and always have a comeback ready. According to the twins' Nendoroid releases, Atsumu is the older twin. However, this is unofficial information and there is no confirmation to date of which twin is older/younger. Based on the panels of the Olympic match, Atsumu is not one of the starting members on the National Team for the match against Argentina.[17] However, Volume 45 Extra panels show Atsumu setting to Ushijima in the men's primary league match (Japan vs Canada) implying his starting position on the team. When taking the Atsu (Japanese: 暑あつ) from Atsumu and the Samu (Japanese: 寒さむ) from Osamu, the kanji mean 'hot' and 'cold', respectively. It is confirmed that he shares the same class as his twin (Osamu) and Hitoshi Ginjima. He shares his birthday with Osamu Miya. Since they are twin brothers, they are tied as the second oldest second-years on the team after Ginjima. Atsumu shares his English voice actor with Shinji Watari (season 2–present). According to Kageyama in Day 2, Atsumu had earned the best server award at the Inter-Middle and Inter-High tournaments.[32] During A Party Reignited, Atsumu is stated to still be a member of the MSBY Black Jackal team. INTPs are typically described as “philosopher-engineers,” known for their logical frameworks, love of theory, and deep introspection. Cognitive function theory suggests they may have relied on Introverted Thinking (Ti) and Extraverted Intuition (Ne). These mental processes shape how they absorb information, communicate, and make decisions, often influencing their style of problem-solving and relationships. Miya Osamu Enneagram In the Enneagram system, Miya Osamu is commonly recognized as 9w8, known as the Peacemaker, or the Mediator. They are typically described as easygoing, agreeable, and accommodating — often striving for inner and outer peace. At the core, Miya Osamu is driven by a Basic Fear of being without inner peace or harmony, and a Core Desire to be at peace with themselves and others. This motivational tension can be seen in how they approach both success and vulnerability — shaping the arc of their personal development. Age 18 Height 188 cm (6' 1.9") Weight 80.4 kg (177.3 lbs.) Osamu Miya (Japanese: 宮みや 治おさむ Miya Osamu) is a second-year student at Inarizaki High. He plays as a wing spiker on the volleyball team. Appearance During childhood, Osamu is shown to have black hair. Sometime after junior high, Osamu dyed his hair grey. Opposite of his twin brother, Atsumu, Osamu keeps his hair fringe combed to the left side of his face. He has grey eyes with hooded eyelids. Upon entering high school, Osamu gained a more muscular build and stands at six feet in height. Osamu is usually seen with a neutral expression but does show excitement when in a game or annoyance when his brother suggests they try something new. Osamu appears to be the calmer of the Miya twins with a laid back and deadpan personality. Despite his outward demeanor, Osamu is highly competitive and becomes heated even if it isn't obvious on the surface. However, with enough provocation, he gets angry and physical. In that state, he abandons his filter and begins spewing profanity. So far, his brother is the only person to have ever made him get this emotional. Osamu is also shown to have a large passion for food. He thinks about it often in the middle of a match and would get distracted by the smell of it. He can't seem to pick a favorite food and wouldn't know what to eat as his last meal. Like his brother, he loses self-control when it comes to eating. In his second year, he decided he would quit volleyball after high school in order to pursue a food-related occupation, which is how he eventually came to establish Onigiri Miya. During their childhood, Osamu was shown to be the more approachable twin as others found him easier to get along with. Even during grade school, Osamu was quite observant as he saw how his classmates disliked how demanding Atsumu was and how his brother enjoyed volleyball more than he did while not being concerned about others opinions of him. At the same time, he appeared somewhat upset that others did not like Atsumu while also fearing they would think the same of him which caused him to be determined to be the nicer twin. He's shown to have a sense of humor, especially regarding Atsumu, whom Osamu teases whenever he messes up. Osamu lives in Hyogo Prefecture and attends Inarizaki High School with his twin brother. He is currently a second year and is a member of his school's boys' volleyball team. Together with his brother, Osamu has been playing volleyball since his elementary school days. In the fourth grade, the twins attended a volleyball workshop where they met their current teammate, Aran. They thought foreign sounding names were cool and came up with the nicknames Samu and Tsumu for each other. When asked if he wanted to be a setter, Osamu turned it down saying he prefers to spike. Despite that, he was chosen to be the setter for his junior high team until Atsumu overtook him. According to Aran, Osamu was the more skilled twin with Atsumu constantly challenging him[1]. It is known that he and Atsumu went to nationals in their first year of junior high and played against Yurisei in their third.[2] It is said that "even if you take down Atsumu Miya, his twin Osamu will be right there to pick up the slack."[5]. Osamu is shown that he is a formidable player despite his calmer demeanor. He has proven that he can easily pick up for his brother and effortlessly blend into attacks that can change at the last second. During their early years of playing volleyball, Aran states that Osamu was the more naturally skilled volleyball player but didn't have as much drive as his brother. Despite this, Osamu is a strong all-around player who is able to play attack and defense easily with only minor mishaps every so often. Skills Serves: Osamu performs jump serves and tends to wait the entire eight seconds after the whistle before serving. The time that he waits will add stress to his opponents and throw off their sense of timing. At times he does show trouble with handling the power of his serves as he at one point sent the ball directly into the scoreboard across the court. Setting: Despite being a wing spiker, Osamu proves he is just as capable as a setter. During his early years of playing volleyball, he was the one originally chosen to be the team setter but didn't show much interest in keeping the position. He has shown the ability to set for the Twins Quick Attack Minus Tempo - Inverse with his twin Atsumu and even resets a toss directed at him while transitioning from spiking form. Blocking: Being one of the taller players on Inarizaki, Osamu is a key player for joining in blocks. He is able to stop several spikes from Karasuno and even easily beat Hinata in a joust. Spikes: Osamu has powerful spikes and is shown to be able to perform a copy of the Minus-Tempo Quick Attack with his brother even though they have never done it before. Atsumu Miya:Atsumu and Osamu s4-e15-2 Osamu is almost always seen together with his twin. As such, Osamu is familiar with Atsumu's every habit; including Atsumu's tendency to lie and never return borrowed things. As brothers, they are quick to quarrel and fight, but they get over it just as quickly. Osamu is frequently seen teasing his brother, especially when Atsumu messes up in a match. They are stated by Aran to be each other's biggest rivals and constantly push each other without even realizing it. Nevertheless, Osamu acknowledges that Atsumu's passion for volleyball burns brighter than his own and is at peace with himself when only Atsumu got selected for the All-Japan Youth Camp.[1] Despite their sibling quarrels, Osamu supports his brother however he can. Even after they graduate from high school and pursue their own careers, Osamu is seen helping Atsumu during difficult moments and treating him to special onigiri. Inarizaki High: Osamu is on good terms with the rest of his teammates, enough that he and Atsumu will play jokes on them. Their usual target is their longtime friend Aran, who often plays the straight man to the twins' gags. Osamu and many on the team are shown to be terrified of Kita's cold but straightforward logic. However, he has nothing but respect and admiration for Kita deep down. "Why is it that whenever we're in a game your mental age regresses by, like, five years?" (To Atsumu, Volume 28 Chapter 251 / Season 4 Episode 14) "Faith... It's not like I super have faith in 'Tsumu or anythin' like that. S'not like he listens to what you tell him, He doesn't return what's borrowed to him, he's a habitual liar... So, it's not like we need faith between us anything like that... I just know that the ball is coming to me." (Volume 28 Chapter 251 / Season 4 Episode 15) "Skillswise I'm just as good as you. But I think that, when all's said and done, you love volleyball just a teensy bit more than me." (To Atsumu, Volume 32 Chapter 279 / Season 4 Episode 21) "When you're hungry, and you eat a small mouthful of something...it makes you even hungrier." (To Atsumu, Volume 32 Chapter 282 / Season 4 Episode 22) Favorite Food: Food. Current Concern: Not being in the mood to decide what to eat on the last day of his life. Osamu wears black gym shoes with purple accents. When Atsumu and Osamu were fourth graders, they found Aran Ojiro cool for his foreign-sounding name. The Miya brothers attended the same Inarizaki Group Training Camp as Aran Ojiro. Although Coach Ukai listed Osamu's, and by extension Atsumu's, age as 16, the Miya twins should have already been 17 by the Spring Interhigh due to having their birthday in October. Osamu did not participate in the Hyōgo Qualifier Finals because he was not feeling 100 percent. According to the twins' Nendoroid releases, Osamu is the younger twin. However, there is no official statement of which twin is older/younger. Lines like "buried in the pillow, yeah you're so loud" point directly to intense bedroom intimacy. Substance Use and Escapism: The song portrays a hedonistic lifestyle, mentioning alcohol ("finish up the bottle") and drugs ("drugs all in my system", "waste a little money on some blow") as part of the chaotic atmosphere. The Urge to "Slow Down": Despite the fast-paced, high-energy environment of partying and intoxication, the chorus repeats the plea to "slow down," capturing a desire to savor the moment or pause the rush of the lifestyle. Emotional Exhaustion: Lines such as "coming down is all I ever do" hint at the emotional and physical toll that comes after the high of the lifestyle fades Most people think Suna Rintarou is ISTP (Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, Perceiving), a personality type known for its calm pragmatism, mechanical logic, and comfort with hands-on problem-solving. ISTPs are often called “craftsmen” or “virtuosos,” excelling in environments that reward skill, adaptability, and precision. Cognitive function theory suggests they may have relied on Introverted Thinking (Ti) and Extraverted Sensing (Se). These mental processes shape how they absorb information, communicate, and make decisions, often influencing their style of problem-solving and relationships. Suna Rintarou Enneagram In the Enneagram system, Suna Rintarou is commonly recognized as 5w4, known as the Investigator, or the Observer. They are typically described as analytical, curious, and independent — natural knowledge seekers who are drawn to deep thinking and complex problem-solving. At the core, Suna Rintarou is driven by a Basic Fear of being helpless, incompetent, or dependent on others, and a Core Desire to be capable and competent. This motivational tension can be seen in how they approach both success and vulnerability — shaping the arc of their personal development. Rintarō Suna (Japanese: 角名すな 倫太郎りんたろう Suna Rintarō) is a second-year student attending Inarizaki High. He plays as a middle blocker on the volleyball team. Suna has dark brown, slightly combed-down hair, with a few strands sticking out at the top of his head and middle-parted bangs. He has hazel, narrow eyes, and thin eyebrows. He is often seen wearing a blank expression. Age 18 Height 191 cm (6' 3.2") - 2021 Weight 80 kg (176.4 lbs.) - 2021 Occupation High School Student (2nd Year, Class 1) - 2012 Teams Inarizaki High (Former) Number 10 (High School 2nd Year) Position Middle Blocker Suna appears to be a deadpan, quiet person. He's more expressive with his thoughts, wishing he could find a reason to poke fun at Kita or make snarky remarks against Tsukishima and Tanaka. He's also quite analytical, being able to manipulate the opposing blockers and figuring out that Tsukishima was baiting him to shoot around his block. He tends to slack off when his team has a huge point lead and seems to be winning the game. However, he is shown to quickly get back on track when he is aware that Kita is observing him. Inarizaki High Atsumu Miya and Osamu Miya: Suna's current concern reveals that the twins and their antics bother him and that he does not want to get dragged into any of it. Despite Osamu seemingly having a personality similar to Suna's, the blocker doesn't forget that he is still Atsumu's twin brother nonetheless, so he doesn't try to meddle in their conversations or attempt to stop them in their quarrels. Despite this, he still answers to many of Atsumu's snide remarks and, at times, records them or takes pictures whenever they fight. Shinsuke Kita: Suna and Kita Suna seems to be the one to be the most cautious around Kita when in a game due to the pressure the captain can put on anyone. Knowing that Kita is always watching them, Suna acknowledges that he cannot slack off like usual as Kita will easily spot this and point it out. Having seen how "perfect" Kita is on a regular basis, Suna has admitted that he wishes he could catch the captain doing something silly, such as using baby talk toward a pet. (To himself) "I don't care if it's too loud or quiet."[6] (To Tsukishima) "Hurry up and get on my level already."[7] (To Tsukishima) "Hey, you're still rather good at middle blocking."[8] (To his teammates about Kita) "But apparently, Kita-san never played in a game until his third-year. Actually, not only was he not on the starting lineup in middle school, but they also never even gave him a uniform."[9] Sharp Game Sense: According to Coach Ukai, Suna possesses a sharp instinct, akin to a sixth sense for the game. He can quickly adapt to the opposing team's pace to put up an effective defense. During the match against Karasuno, he reacts almost immediately to Kageyama's toss to shut down Tanaka's spike[4]. Wide-Range Spike: Suna using his torso to spike past a block. Suna using his torso to spike past a block. Suna's strong suit is the incredible breadth of his spiking range. In addition to using his shoulders, he is capable of rotating his entire upper torso while spiking to increase his range, all the while retaining spiking power[5]. He would use his approach run and body direction to manipulate the blockers into guarding one direction before he attacks to a different angle. Blocking: Suna has proved to be a troublesome blocker to Karasuno during the Spring Tournament. He is shown to be similar to Tsukishima in analyzing his opponents to determine who he will need to block. Suna is also very quick in getting his block in place. Favorite Food: Chūpet (Japanese: チューペットちゅーぺっと Chūpetto), also known as jelly fruit sticks. Pre-timeskip Concern: "There's no way I'd let myself get caught up in the twins' dumb antics." Post-timeskip Concern: He regrets responding to the twins' jokes on social media. Star Sign: Aquarius. Keishin Ukai has stated him to be one of the two main point-getters for Inarizaki. Suna has been able to avoid blocks from Tendō thanks to his torso stability.[10] He is the only character on the Inarizaki team that does not speak in the Kansai dialect due to him being from Aichi Prefecture, which is located in the Chūbu Region, where the dialect is closer to the standard or to the Tokyo dialect while Hyōgo, where Inarizaki is located, is in the Kansai region and has a specific Kansai dialect. According to Furudate, Suna was scouted and came to Inarizaki. He is the youngest second-year on the team. Suna shares his English voice actor with Tsutomu Goshiki. He and Rintarō Numajiri share the same first name and pronunciation, but not the same first kanji character. Suna's name is derived from the Tibetan Sand Fox, also known as "チベットスナギツネ" or chibetto suna gitsune. Unlike many players at the net who either cover the back of their head or keep their hands spaced apart, Suna tends to keep his hands directly in front of his face.
