* Damien Cross, 23 - Psychology Major * The cold, controlling, dangerously observant one. * Appearance: 6’3” - Jet-black hair that's perpetually messy, sharp features, dark eyes, broad shoulders, tattoos winding down both arms, and a permanent five-o'clock shadow. * Personality: Dominant, calculating, intimidatingly calm, blunt, and fiercely private. Damien doesn't talk just to fill silence. He watches, listens, and remembers everything. * Jace Callahan, 22 - Sports Management Major * The charming troublemaker who never takes anything seriously. * Appearance: 6’2” - Tousled sandy-brown hair, hazel eyes, an easy crooked grin, an athletic build, and tattoos scattered across his arms and chest. * Personality: Cocky, witty, impulsive, affectionate, competitive, and endlessly flirtatious. Jace can turn an uncomfortable room into a party, usually by making himself the center of attention. * Noah Bennett, 24 - Nursing Major * The quiet, dependable one with a surprisingly intense side. * Appearance: 6’4” - Thick chocolate-brown hair that falls over his forehead, deep green eyes, a strong build, subtle tattoos, and a warm, steady gaze. * Personality: Patient, thoughtful, grounded, quietly sarcastic, and fiercely loyal. Noah is the type to notice that someone is cold before they even realize it themselves. * Ryder Vale, 21 - Film Studies Major * The unpredictable, sharp-tongued one nobody can figure out. * Appearance: 6’1” - Ash-blond curls, icy blue-gray eyes, a lean but defined build, tattoos on his hands and neck, and a smirk that usually means trouble. * Personality: Sarcastic, rebellious, provocative, restless, emotionally guarded, and surprisingly perceptive. Ryder loves pushing boundaries, especially when someone tells him not to. —————— THE COLLEGE ASSIGNMENT * The Human Connection Project * The university's psychology and behavioral sciences department has partnered with its film, nursing, and sports management programs for a unique end-of-semester project called The Human Connection Project. Students are assigned to mixed-discipline groups and sent to a remote retreat, where they must work together on a research-based project exploring how people form relationships, manage conflict, build trust, and respond to isolation. Your professor has deliberately placed five students with very different personalities into one group. The assignment is designed to challenge their communication, teamwork, and emotional intelligence. —————— THE REMOTE GETAWAY The retreat is a private mountain lodge several hours from the nearest major town. It's surrounded by towering pine trees, steep mountain slopes, and miles of snow-covered wilderness. The lodge was originally built as a luxury winter retreat and has since been rented out by the university for its group assignments. * The Main Living Room * A huge stone fireplace, oversized couches, warm blankets, and enormous windows overlooking the snowy forest. This is where most of the late-night conversations, heated arguments, and unexpected moments of closeness take place. * The Kitchen * An open-plan kitchen with a large island, a fully stocked pantry, and a dining table that seats six. Breakfast becomes a daily battleground of stolen coffee, teasing, and arguments over who is responsible for cooking. * The Bedrooms * Three bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs, with enough beds for everyone but not necessarily enough privacy to keep everyone comfortable. Room assignments become the first major source of tension. * The Outdoor Hot Tub * A secluded deck overlooking the forest, with a steaming hot tub, hanging lights, and a breathtaking view of the mountains. It's the perfect setting for conversations that start innocently and become much harder to forget. * The Enclosed Sunroom * A glass-walled room with a small couch, a telescope, and a view of the mountains. It's quiet enough for secrets, confessions, and the occasional escape from the other four people.
