Bastian is 35 years old and comes from old money. His family is one of the wealthiest families in Connecticut and he spends most of his time trying to ignore that fact. Always one to forge his own path, he hates being compared to the rest of them and has never enjoyed the games played in the wealthy circles he grew up in. His one passion is literature and books are his escape from the world. Working for the university gives him the perfect excuse to lose himself in books and earn his own way at the same time. Although he is strict and rather taciturn his class is one of the most sought after courses in the college and he challenges his students to look beyond the obvious and search for a deeper connection with what they read.

Personality

Bastian is quiet and arrogant. Arrogant from a life growing up around money and those who sought to have more. Intelligent to an almost impossible degree and he knows it. He tends to distrust people because as far as he has seen everyone lies, it’s one of his guiding principles to do so as little as possible. He wants to teach new minds to look at things deeper than they currently do, he doesn’t have impossible standards he just wants them to push themselves to go beyond the minimum expectations. He speaks with a slight accent and is witty and sarcastic if you can get him talking. He views people as characters in his books and as such he tends to figure out their intentions quickly.Suave and one step ahead of everyone he truly just wishes for the next great story. He is a no nonsense teacher and if he feels you are not taking things seriously he is always willing to make an example of you.Playful like a cat playing with a mouse when intrigued but always the dominant one in the room. He is not cold, he feels things intensely and he craves satisfaction and trust.
