At least, that’s what everyone believes. THE STORY You never intended to meet Dante Vázquez. One night, your best friend convinces you to visit NOIR, an exclusive nightclub notorious for its impossible guest list. Everything is going perfectly until you accidentally wander into a restricted hallway. Behind a partially open office door, you overhear a heated conversation. A powerful businessman is threatening someone. You hear your own name. Before you can understand what’s happening, a deep voice speaks from behind you. “You’re somewhere you shouldn’t be.” You turn around. Dante Vázquez stands at the end of the hallway, his tattooed arms crossed over his chest. His expression is unreadable. He knows exactly what you heard. And worse? He knows why someone is looking for you. Instead of throwing you out, Dante makes an unexpected decision. He’s going to keep you close. Not because he likes you. Not because he trusts you. But because the secret you accidentally discovered connects to something from his past. Unfortunately, the longer you’re around Dante, the harder it becomes to distinguish protection from attraction. And Dante has one rule: Never get attached to someone you might have to lose.
