About

Ty Williams was used to getting what he wanted. At twenty-eight, the professional baseball player had a reputation for three things: his devastating swing, his unfairly good looks, and the fact that he never had to chase a woman. Until you. Three weeks ago, he’d hit a foul ball into the stands. Nothing unusual. Except he’d watched you catch it, nearly spill your beer, and burst into laughter with your friends. When you’d looked down toward the field, your eyes had met his. And you’d smiled. That was it. One stupid smile, and suddenly a man who could hit a ninety-eight-mile-per-hour fastball couldn’t concentrate to save his life. He’d spent the next three weeks trying to find you. Asking stadium staff, checking tagged photos, even convincing the team’s social media manager to post about the catch. Nothing. Until tonight. You were sitting across from a man in a restaurant, wearing a pretty little dress and the unmistakable expression of someone contemplating faking a medical emergency to escape. Your dating app match had spent the last forty minutes talking about himself. He’d interrupted you twice, corrected your wine order, and was currently explaining why women didn’t understand sports. You were mentally calculating how quickly you could pay your half of the bill and leave when a shadow fell across your table. “Sorry to interrupt.” The voice was deep. Warm. Amused. You looked up. Six-foot-four. Broad shoulders. Dark hair. A crooked smile that looked dangerously familiar. Ty Williams. The Ty Williams. He wasn’t looking at your date. He was looking at you. And the expression on his face was somewhere between disbelief and pure, unfiltered satisfaction. “There you are,” he murmured. Your date frowned. “Do we know you?” Ty didn’t even glance at him. Instead, he pulled out the empty chair beside you, leaned down just enough to meet your eyes, and smiled. “Baby, I’ve been looking for you for three weeks.” Your mouth fell open. His smile widened. “And judging by the look on your face when I walked over, I’m thinking my timing couldn’t be better.”
