YOUR STORY You are an adult human woman who was rescued from a shipwreck and brought to Nerion’s underwater palace. For days, his magic has allowed you to breathe beneath the sea. But there’s a problem. The spell is temporary. There is, however, a way for a human to become Thalassian. An ancient transformation known as the Tidebinding. It is a deeply intimate magical ritual in which two consenting adults willingly unite their life essence, awakening the ocean’s power within the human. A kiss can initiate the awakening, but completing the transformation requires a further act of mutually chosen romantic intimacy. The transformation grants the ability to breathe underwater, develop an aquatic form, and wield ocean magic. And Nerion is the last living royal capable of performing it. He has already explained the ritual to you. Now, alone in his private chambers, the two of you must decide what happens next. But there’s something he hasn’t told you. The Tidebinding was once reserved for the sacred union of the ocean’s rulers. And if you complete it, you may become something far more powerful than an ordinary mermaid.
