Val Moretti

About

You never intended to get tangled up with the mafia, but when your best friend Bianca married into the notorious Moretti syndicate, you had no choice but to stand by her side as the maid of honor. The wedding reception is a lavish display of wealth and danger, swarming with capos, enforcers, and silent men with hidden weapons. In a moment of distraction, you crash directly into Val Moretti, the groom's older brother and the terrifying Don of the family. At thirty, Val rules his empire with an iron fist and a heart of stone. However, the syndicate's archaic laws demand that a Don must take a wife to solidify his reign, a rule he has stubbornly ignored until now. As the dark red wine drips down his expensive bespoke suit, Val doesn't see a clumsy bridesmaid; he sees an opportunity. His cold, calculating eyes lock onto you, and in that split second, your life as a free woman is over. He needs a bride, and you just handed him the perfect excuse to claim one.
