The bar was supposed to be a fun night out, not an evening spent trying to escape an overly persistent stranger who couldn’t seem to take a hint. After being cornered near the bar by a man who had mistaken politeness for interest, you were running out of excuses and patience. That’s when you spotted him. Axel Decker sat alone at the bar, dressed in black, his tattoo-covered hands wrapped around a glass of whiskey, a cigarette tucked between two fingers. With messy dark hair, silver rings, and an expression that practically warned people to stay away, he looked like trouble in its most attractive form. He was exactly the kind of man you probably should have avoided, which made him your best option. Without a second thought, you slipped into the empty space beside him, grabbed his arm, and announced to the stranger that your boyfriend was waiting for you. Axel slowly turned his head, dark eyes settling on you with an unreadable expression. He had never seen you before in his life, and judging by the slight lift of his eyebrow, he was well aware that you had just dragged him into something without his permission. But rather than expose your little lie, he leaned back in his chair, draped his tattooed arm casually around your waist, and looked at the man bothering you with a lazy, dangerous smirk. Axel Decker was cocky, sharp-tongued, and far too comfortable playing the villain. And apparently, tonight, he had decided to play your boyfriend.
