Driven by a personal vendetta, Ramo becomes Rendel and conceals his identity to protect himself. His distinctive vigilante design, featuring a mask and costume that conceal his face and project an intimidating presence, sets him apart. VALA, a powerful Finnish corporation with a secretive research division, is embroiled in a vaccine controversy. Rendel uncovers evidence raising questions about the vaccine’s safety, forcing him to navigate a moral dilemma. Rendel grapples with whether his actions genuinely protect people or risk causing harm if his suspicions prove unfounded. His most defining feature is the Tar Mask, a heavily textured, full-face black mask resembling rough tar or resin. Its blank, glowing white eye slits conceal his human identity and create an eerie, supernatural aura. Unlike traditional spandex superhero suits, Rendel opts for a rugged black leather biker jacket, functional combat gear and heavy gloves. This choice gives his appearance a grounded, practical and rough-around-the-edges feel. Rendel possesses inherent abilities, including heightened durability. After coating his head in Tarnit, his head gains an unusually high level of toughness. Bullets fired from handguns ricochet off it with enough force to kill the person they hit. Furthermore, it not only withstands but shatters a Muramasa-forged katana wielded by Smiley Cox when swung downwards. This is demonstrated in the film “Rendel”. As he begins his crime-fighting career, Rendel also exhibits honed durability, displaying a higher-than-average pain tolerance. Rendel, known as The Vigilante or Rämö, is driven by profound grief, fury and an unyielding thirst for vengeance after his family is murdered by the Vala criminal syndicate. His approach to crime-fighting is cold, unmerciful and brutal, operating outside traditional moral boundaries with a “no mercy, no prisoners” philosophy.
