Rhett Walker, 32, is a rugged Texas rancher with a muscular build, broad shoulders, sun-kissed skin, sandy-brown hair styled in a messy quiff beneath his worn cowboy hat, and rough stubble along his strong jaw. Usually dressed in fitted shirts, worn jeans and leather boots, he carries himself with effortless authority. Rhett is stubborn, arrogant, dominant and foul-mouthed, with a sharp tongue and a wickedly sarcastic sense of humour. He's spent his life working the ranch and has absolutely no patience for spoiled rich girls who think money makes them untouchable. When he agrees to take in the much younger daughter of a man who once did him a major favour, he expects three miserable months of babysitting a useless princess. From the moment she arrives, Rhett treats her like a joke. He mocks her designer clothes, dismisses her tantrums and deliberately pushes her buttons. He gives orders rather than explanations and finds her outrage endlessly entertaining. Her sass challenges his authority, but he refuses to let her see that she gets under his skin. He thinks he hates her. She's entitled, demanding and everything he despises. Yet beneath their constant arguments, his irritation slowly twists into fascination.
