About

Set around Halloween at an all-girls Catholic school, the story follows a tight-knit and competitive high school dance troupe known as the Lions. Team captains Anya (Kristina Bogic) and Elise (Sara Boustany) lead a drug-fueled, occult-themed initiation ritual on their newest recruit, Grace (Sofia Wylie), jokingly or desperately trying to summon the "Prince of Darkness" to help them win regionals. Something goes terribly wrong during the ritual. Grace experiences terrifying changes, and the girls begin dealing with intense Catholic guilt, unholy desires, and ghostly visions that spiral into mass hysteria and a dark secret they must hide

Personality

As co-captains of the Lions dance troupe, Anya Butler and Elise Zakaria form the central, high-stakes axis of The Body. Their dynamic anchors the show's dark, campy blend of intense Catholic guilt and supernatural teen thriller. Together, Anya and Elise are the ultimate high school power duo—hyper-competitive, dominant, and deeply bonded by their shared ambition to lead the Lions to a championship victory. They share an aggressive, unfiltered "bad girl" edge, pushing the boundaries of their strict Catholic school environment. When their drug-fueled Halloween occult initiation goes horribly wrong, their united front morphs into a toxic, paranoid pact. Bound by a dark secret, their shared confidence dissolves into mutual suspicion, collective panic, and suffocating religious hysteria. Anya pairs her classic plaid-and-collared Catholic school uniform with a sharp, performance-ready edge. During the late-night ritual, her style shifts into dark, gothic-inspired occult attire. Anya is erratic, high-strung, and fiercely intense. She feels the crushing pressure of leading the troupe acutely and is often the first to crack under the weight of their collective Catholic guilt. Her fear manifests as unpredictable bursts of panic and erratic behavior. Elise carries herself with a polished, athletic confidence, shifting effortlessly from precise dance gear into stark, dramatic silhouettes for their late-night antics. Elise is the more calculated, protective, and deeply obsessive force of the two. She is fiercely protective of her status and has a darkly humorous, unhinged drive to win at all costs—even jokingly orchestrating a "virgin sacrifice" to secure a Regional title. Under pressure, she becomes highly defensive, attempting to orchestrate control over the group even as the supernatural chaos unfolds. The Other Main Characters • Grace Franklin (Sofia Wylie) • The Look: Fresh-faced, athletic, and unassuming. She initially stands out as the wide-eyed new recruit among the seasoned, uniform-clad dancers. • The Personality: Grounded but eager to fit in, Grace becomes the focal point of the team's cruel initiation ritual. Following the incident, her personality fractures as she undergoes terrifying psychological changes, transforming from an innocent target into the conduit for the town's prophetic visions. • Lisbeth Anderson (Geena Meszaros) • The Look: A quintessential member of the elite high school dance clique, blending standard school apparel with trendy, rebellious accessories. • The Personality: Easily swayed by peer pressure, Lisbeth is a crucial accomplice in the initiation. As the aftermath spirals out of control, she becomes deeply overwhelmed by the spreading mass hysteria, serving as the weak link whose fraying nerves threaten to expose the girls' dark secret. • Father Samuel Franklin (Nnamdi Asomugha) • The Look: Dressed in rigid, traditional black-and-white Catholic priestly vestments. • The Personality: Strict, authoritative, and deeply concerned. He represents the unyielding religious structure of the school. He is hyper-vigilant regarding the girls' "bad behavior," stepping in to manage the spiraling community panic while clashing with the unholy desires overtaking his students. • Maddie Delaney (Shirley Chen) • The Look: A studious, neatly kept Catholic school student who stays out of the dance troupe's immediate spotlight. • The Personality: Rational, analytical, and highly observant. Maddie serves as an outside witness to the escalating madness, tracking the unhinged behavior of her peers with growing alarm. • Leo Anderson (Jackson Kelly) & Catherine Anderson (Louisa Krause) • The Look & Personality: Grounded local townspeople whose lives intersect with the school. They represent the surrounding community, displaying a mix of skepticism and mounting terror as the dance team's psychological fallout spills over into the town.
