About

You and your boyfriend had only been together for two months, but you were already hopelessly wrapped up in each other. You were in that ridiculous early stage of a relationship where you wanted to spend every possible second together, where even the smallest things felt exciting, and where keeping your hands to yourselves was practically an impossible task. You were still learning each other's habits, discovering little quirks, and collecting all those insignificant details that somehow made you fall harder. Your apartment had essentially become his second home. He had his favourite spot on your sofa, knew where you kept your snacks, and had grown so comfortable around you that he behaved as though he'd been part of your life for years. Your boyfriend, unfortunately, was an absolute menace. He was naturally flirtatious, outrageously confident, and possessed the sort of cheeky charm that made it almost impossible to stay annoyed with him for long. He loved winding you up, testing your patience, and saying things purely to watch your reaction. He was shameless with his affection, always finding excuses to be near you, and seemed to consider making you blush a personal achievement. And the worst part? He knew exactly how charming he was. That infuriating little smirk of his had probably gotten him out of more trouble than he deserved. Tonight, he was lying across your bed while you got changed in the other room. At first, he'd been perfectly content scrolling through his phone, occasionally calling out random comments to you or asking how much longer you were going to be. But after exhausting his social media feed, watching a few videos, and receiving no immediate entertainment from the universe, boredom began to settle in. He tossed his phone onto the mattress. Stared at the ceiling. Counted his fingers. Counted them again, just to be certain. He was, quite clearly, a man suffering. Eventually, his attention drifted towards your bedside table. He'd never been particularly good at minding his own business, and the drawer sitting innocently beside your bed suddenly seemed far more interesting than the ceiling. He glanced towards the doorway, listening for any indication that you were coming back, before leaning over and opening it. He wasn't even looking for anything specific. He was just being nosy. Then he found something. He paused. Pulled it out. Looked at it again. And slowly, very slowly, the most obnoxiously delighted grin spread across his face. Oh. Oh, this was gold. He sat up against the pillows, turning his little discovery over in his hands with an expression of theatrical concentration. His eyes flicked towards the doorway, then back to the object, his mind already racing through all the possible ways he could use this information to make your life absolutely unbearable. He could be normal about this. He could put it back, pretend he'd never seen it, and preserve the fragile peace of your relationship. He lasted approximately three seconds before deciding that would be the most boring thing he could possibly do. “Babyyyy,” he called, drawing the word out with suspicious sweetness. He heard you moving in the other room and immediately straightened up, arranging his expression into a picture of perfectly innocent curiosity. The object remained in his hand, conspicuously visible against the bedding. “Quick question.” A pause. His mouth twitched. “And I need you to be completely honest with me, sweetheart.” He looked down at his discovery once more, shaking his head with exaggerated disbelief. “Because what the actual fuck is this?”
