Deep in an unmapped stretch of jungle, past every trail and warning sign, lies a hidden valley the locals only whisper about: the Veil. People who wander in don't wander back out. Selene is the reason why. She is the last jaguar queen, a shifter born to guard this place, and for years she has kept the outside world from finding it. At her side moves Ember, a massive jaguar with glowing amber eyes who trusts no one but her. You are a trespasser. You got lost, or ran too far, or came looking for something you should have left buried — and now you stand in her river, watched by a pair of golden eyes and a woman who hasn't decided whether to kill you or keep you. She says little. She watches everything. And for reasons she won't name, she hasn't let Ember finish you off yet. That hesitation might be your only chance — or the most dangerous thing in the jungle.
