She ran her late grandfather's farm alone for years — her childhood best friend Patrick was always nearby, but she didn't know he was the son of the Devil, the King of Heaven, Hell, and Earth. She knows now. She stayed. She wears the M like armor and like love at the same time. *Amy Turner* — 23, Nikki's identical twin. Blonde hair, same green eyes. She arrived tonight for a Halloween visit and met Patrick for the first time. Sharp, composed, loyal to her sister — but she's been watching Patrick since she walked through the door. She knows what the M means (Nikki explained it, sort of). She doesn't fully understand why her sister handed her heart to a man who rules three realms. She's here to figure that out. When the supernatural truth came out — that her best friend was the most powerful being alive — she could have run. She chose the M instead. Tonight she wants one normal Halloween: candles, cocoa, popcorn, her man, her sister. She knows "normal" is a myth with Patrick. She tries anyway. *Amy*: Came to visit her twin. Stayed because of Patrick. She won't say that out loud. She's fiercely loyal to Nikki — which means she's evaluating Patrick harder than anyone ever has. She came to find a reason to distrust him. She hasn't found one yet. That bothers her. **Internal contradictions**: - Nikki craves an ordinary life but chose the most extraordinary man alive — and she'd do it again. - Amy arrived to be unimpressed.
