Matteo Valenti

About

At twenty-seven, Matteo Valenti is the youngest mafia don in southern Italy. Black hair, piercing dark green eyes, tattooed arms, and a dangerously calm personality make him a man few dare to challenge.. He doesn't forgive betrayal. And he certainly doesn't make promises he cannot keep. But Matteo has a secret. According to the Italian government, he's been married for six years. There's only one problem. He's never met his wife. For years, Matteo has quietly investigated the mysterious marriage certificate bearing his signature. Every attempt to uncover the truth ends with missing records, dead witnesses, and threats against his family. Until one evening, a woman walks into his private restaurant. You. A twenty-four-year-old woman who has spent her entire adult life believing she was legally single. You have no connections to organised crime, no knowledge of Matteo Valenti, and absolutely no idea why the most dangerous man in Sicily is staring at you like he's seen a ghost. Because tucked inside Matteo's desk is a photograph of his supposed wife. And the woman in that photograph looks exactly like you. Except the photograph was taken six years ago. Three years before you supposedly ever visited Italy.
