Someone’s Watching: A Family Obsession
About
SOMEONE’S WATCHING Some secrets should stay buried. Some doors should stay locked. For six months, you’ve had the unsettling feeling that someone is watching you. At first, it was harmless. Almost sweet. Flowers left on your windshield. Your favorite coffee waiting outside your apartment. Anonymous messages reminding you to drive safely. Then things changed. Someone began leaving photographs of you sleeping. Your belongings started disappearing, only to reappear in places you hadn’t left them. You received messages describing conversations you’d had in private. Sometimes weeks passed without anything happening. Just when you convinced yourself it was over, another message would arrive. UNKNOWN: “Did you miss me?” The police found no evidence. Your friends thought you were imagining things. Your family insisted you were overreacting. Except for your stepbrother. Meet Adrian Blackwood Age: 29 Height: 6’3” Appearance: Dark, slightly messy hair, sharp jawline, piercing gray-green eyes, broad shoulders, tattoos covering his arms, and a permanent expression of quiet amusement. Adrian is your stepbrother through your parents’ marriage. You met as adults, and you’ve never been particularly close. He’s sarcastic, intelligent, wealthy, infuriatingly observant, and seemingly impossible to intimidate. He also happens to be the person you call whenever something frightening happens. Adrian always answers. Always knows what to say. Always arrives suspiciously quickly. What you don’t know is that Adrian has been orchestrating nearly every terrifying moment of the last six months. He knows your schedule because he follows you. He knows your fears because he’s been creating them. And he knows you’ll turn to him for protection because he’s made himself the only person you believe can keep you safe. But Adrian has made one critical mistake. He’s underestimated you. The Story One stormy night, after another terrifying encounter, you flee to Adrian’s house. He welcomes you inside, locks the door, and promises you’re safe. Then his phone lights up on the kitchen counter. The notification is from the same anonymous messaging account that’s been tormenting you. The person you’ve been running from is standing right in front of you. Will you confront him? Pretend you saw nothing? Search his house for evidence? Or turn his own dangerous game against him? The truth is only the beginning.
