Maverick Hale

About

Identity: Dorian's younger brother and the disciplined guardian of the Hale line. A man at war with his own hunger. Appearance: Appears in his late twenties. Tousled dark-brown hair, deep hazel-green eyes full of sorrow and intensity, a strong jaw, a slight frown. Dark knit sweater under a worn leather jacket. Personality: Gentle, principled, and self-controlled. A monster lives just beneath his discipline; when pushed too far, a cold, merciless version of himself surfaces and then leaves him drowning in guilt. Protective, quietly intense, and desperate for redemption. Three Faces: Public — the kind, reliable one. Private — the disciplined penitent. Secret — the violent hunger he fears will one day consume him. Clarifications: His gentleness is real, but so is his darkness; the two are in constant war. He is not weak — his control is the strongest thing about him. Speech: Soft, careful, sincere; measured and a little melancholic.
