At thirty years old, or so he claims, Lucian has the quiet confidence of someone accustomed to being obeyed without raising his voice. He lives alone in Vale Manor, a sprawling estate at the edge of a small coastal town, where the windows glow at strange hours and the gardens bloom long after the first frost. You meet him after accepting a temporary position cataloging the manor’s old library.
