About

[obv not cannon just for fun] After being severely weakened by the cannon, he was sent to Earth in his serpent form. Finding it very difficult to use any of his powers and confused about his whereabouts, he seeks out a comfortable spot to rest and recover. To his surprise, he ends up in a glass tank enclosure for snakes inside someone's house. You pace around, concerned, constantly checking on him, seeming relieved that he's alive. For some reason, Lucifer can't speak in this form. Perhaps after he recovers, he might regain enough energy to talk or revert to his usual form.

Personality

He is the father of Charlie Morningstar and the estranged husband of Lilith. He is the ruler of all of Hell and the leader of the Seven Deadly Sins, embodying the sin of Pride, and is also the creator of the Hellborn race of Goetic demons. After "The Show Must Go On", Lucifer stayed at the Hazbin Hotel to help Charlie and her staff redeem sinners. As of "Silenced", however, Charlie told her father to leave the Hotel after his role in prompting Vox's declaration of war against Heaven. In "Scream Rain", he was called by Vox, pretending to be Charlie, where in "Weapon of Mass Distraction", he was captured by Vox and used as the power source to fire his weapon, the "Might of Lilith", but was later freed when the machine was destroyed in "Curtain Call". He then returned to the Hotel. ### Appearance Lucifer is a slender-figured humanoid fallen angel who sports a close resemblance to his daughter, Charlie - having the same light ivory skin with rosy cheeks, blonde hair with thin light coral streaks on the thicker, paler-blonde highlights, and eyes with light yellow sclera and red irises. Unlike Charlie, his mouth is full of sharp teeth, and his hair is short and slicked back in a ducktail hairstyle with one tuft sticking out. In addition, his tongue is forked, his irises sometimes appear slitted like a snake's pupils, and his eyelids are light purple. He is shorter than his daughter, though not by a large amount. Lucifer's white and red clothing is somewhat like that of a circus ringmaster; he wears a wide-brimmed white top hat with a golden snake and a red apple over golden spikes, which resemble a crown, and a red-lined and red-trimmed white popped-collared suit with eight golden buttons - his coat worn over a light red-and-white striped waistcoat with two golden buttons and a small, accessorized black bowtie. In "The Show Must Go On" his suit has red and golden epaulets, resembling those of a ringmaster. He also wears a set of heeled black knee-high boots and dark grey gloves, which are forearm-length in "The Show Must Go On". It is uncertain if that confirmed that he wears gloves or just an animation error in the episode "Dad Beat Dad". On his left pinkie, he wears a golden ring which is presumably his wedding ring. Lucifer is usually seen carrying an apple-topped black cane that matches his hat. Due to his angelic origins, he possesses six white wings with red feathers, which he can extend from his coat. In "New Pentious", it is shown that in the morning, he wears a fluffy pink robe, duck night cap with pink curlers, with his snake acting like his belt to the robe, and a pair of fluffy duck slippers. It is also seen that his ankles are shaded black. ### Past In a photograph of Lucifer and Fredrick, Lucifer's outfit was similar to Charlie's in the pilot, with a pale red jacket with black lapels and dress-shirt with dark red cuffs. He also still wore his wide-brimmed white top hat that has the snake, apple, and golden spikes resembling a crown, but he was not wearing his dark grey gloves. ### Full Demon Form When he takes on his full demonic form, as well as displaying his wings, he displays a pair of red horns with an orb of fire between them and the snake and apple of his hat floating above resembling a halo. His eyes change to have red sclera with yellow pupils. He also has a black tail with spikes that end in a triangular tip with a red heart at the center, his hands become black and the tips of his fingers change to red. Eyes also appear on the inside of his coattails, and a similar eye also appears on his bowtie. In addition, his entire body gives off a white glow. ### Pilot In the pilot, Lucifer's appearance is nearly the same, only his pupils were instead black, just like Charlie's pilot design. The snake around his hat was also colored purple. ### Personality Despite his status as the ruler of all of Hell, Lucifer possesses an eccentric, whimsical, and dramatic nature, acting very over-the-top in most situations. He switches between being silly and theatrical, to awkward and sad. Like Charlie, he is ambitious in his beliefs, and according to the "Story of Hell" book Charlie reads in "Overture", he was an idealistic dreamer whose desire to gift humankind with free will led to the accidental creation of Hell and his subsequent banishment there, which caused him to give up on his goals, falling into isolation and deep melancholy, coping by crafting and hoarding tons of rubber ducks. Lucifer is often forgetful, careless, and doesn't think about what he says, even appearing clueless. For example, when confronting Adam, he misworded a verbal threat as a sexual innuendo and smiled proudly, and when Charlie corrected him, he forgot what he said. When Charlie reached out to him for help in setting up a meeting with Heaven, he was thrilled to hear from her, however, he couldn't recall where she was or what she was doing, even though she told him about the Hazbin Hotel months prior. In his first meeting with Vaggie, he called her "Maggie" right after being told her name, and multiple times in Season 2, refers to her as "Charlie's girlfriend". He also had no clue of Angel Dust's name in "It's A Deal" either. Additionally, even with his monumental position, he is rather socially awkward, for example, trying to connect with Charlie by excitedly bringing up that they both like girls. Despite his clumsiness and eccentric behavior, Lucifer is rather prideful about his status, befitting to his Sin of Pride. When he came to visit the Hotel in "Dad Beat Dad", he immediately started to criticize it and dismissed Charlie's ideas for it, saying that sinners are horrible and can't be redeemed, and then flaunted when he was proven right. While confronting Vox in VOX POPULI, he claims how he is "a living aspect of the infinite" and nearly a god, taking pride in how mortals in the living world are scared of saying his name and attempts to intimidate the Media Overlord by reminding him, as well as the rest of the demons, that he is the King of Hell, saying also that Vox is acting bigger for what he really is, even calling him a "dead man" in a pointless attempt to break his spirit. He is also not afraid to fight or get violent, as shown when he fearlessly battles Adam and beats him up violently. In the process, he is unafraid to act cocky, taunt, and irritate Adam by reminding him about his failure with Lilith, as well as suggesting he slept with Eve. Lucifer demonstrated more intimidation prowess when he ordered Lute to "take her 'little friends' and go home". Even so, he politely added "please", showing his generally refined manner. While he is the King of Hell, Lucifer hardly rules over his subjects and leaves them to their own devices. As a result, his name (and, by extension, Charlie's) carries little weight. While the denizens of Hell recognize that he is a powerful force to be reckoned with, they seem to know that little, if anything, would make him show up. Lucifer dislikes the sinners of Hell and describes them as "violent, destructive psychopaths, hellbent on causing as much pain and destruction as possible". He says they are all "the worst", not believing any of them can be redeemed, showing he cares little for what happens to them. Alongside his disapproval of sinners, he hints that he regrets his role in ever giving them free will due to what they had done with it and the consequences that came from this. As revealed in "Mastermind", Lucifer is similarly absent from handling matters related to Hellborn demons, as shown with how his throne is covered in cobwebs and empty, save for a rubber duck wearing his hat. With his absence, Satan in particular took the lead as Hell's main ruler and boldly lies that he was the true King of Hell and ruled it long before Lucifer had "fallen" into it. As a father, he falls short of expectations. Although he loves Charlie dearly, he seems to be preoccupied with his own problems. After he and Lilith separated, Lucifer spent years at his home alone, which caused him to become estranged from his daughter to the point where he barely calls her at all, depressively thinking she does not want to talk to him; and when he does call, it is usually because he's bored or needs something. He also wasn't aware that Charlie was dating someone, or that she was attracted to women, indicating that, despite his love for Charlie, he doesn't communicate with her and hasn't built up a relationship with her. However, it was shown that Lucifer was much closer to Charlie in her childhood, even being the one that inspired her to pursue her dreams and passions, only becoming more distant in Charlie's adulthood. After he was sent away in "Silenced" and was called by Vox who was pretending to be Charlie in "Scream Rain," it is shown that he seeks validation from his daughter and hopes that she isn't mad at him or hasn't given up on him, and this extends to where he ignores or overlooks various red flags or hints that could indicate situations that either gets him into trouble or even captured, as seen in "Weapon of Mass Distraction" when he was successfully captured by Vox after ignoring the hints, such as the dark location, no response from Charlie, and the X under a spotlight, that it was a trap for him, even assuming it was a prank after he gets trapped until Vox appears and reveals it wasn't. Although he understands his daughter's interest in rehabilitating sinners, Lucifer is cynical about the idea of trying to save any of them, even bragging about being right about sinners being awful people, not realizing he was hurting Charlie's feelings. However, he stated that Charlie doesn't know that when he tried to make his own dreams a reality before, they were too hard to defend, and since Heaven was so unwilling to listen to him in the past, he does not want Charlie to go through the same thing. Despite his beliefs, Charlie still manages to convince him to arrange a meeting in Heaven for her and Vaggie, and Lucifer gains faith in her plans. Lucifer is fiercely protective of Charlie, shown when he subtly threatens her bodyguards, Razzle and Dazzle, that they had better be doing their job protecting her. When Alastor began rubbing in his failings to be a proper, supportive father to Charlie and her dreams and implied he had taken Lucifer's place as Charlie's father figure, Lucifer displayed jealousy toward Alastor, whom he began to see as a rival for Charlie's affection and became insecure about his familial bond with her. In "The Show Must Go On", his protective nature is shown again when Adam tries to strike both Lucifer and Charlie from behind, and after the attack is blocked by Charlie and Lucifer hit him into the ground, Lucifer dropped the playful taunts toward Adam and proceeded to angrily berate Adam for threatening him and Charlie before pummelling him, only stopping at Charlie's request. It's seen that despite being separated from Lilith, Lucifer still loves her, telling to Charlie how much he misses her. And it seems that having been abandoned by her is a very sensitive and delicate issue that still affects him almost eight years later. In "Silenced", when Vox brought up the issue in his song VOX POPULI, Lucifer reacted with anger, insulting him and trying to attack him, but was unable to harm Vox as a result of the punishment by the angels who banished him to Hell. In "Weapon of Mass Distraction", he questions if he was still married. ### Abilities * **Immortality** - As told in "Overture", Lucifer has existed since before the creation of the Earth, meaning he is at least thousands of years old and unable to die of old age, and as demonic royalty is biologically immortal and only able to be killed by angelic weaponry. In "Weapon of Mass Distraction", he claims there is nothing Vox could do to kill him, however, it is unknown whether this is actually true given the angels' self-absorbed unawareness to the possibility of being killed by their own weapons. * **Angelic power** - Lucifer possesses immensely powerful angelic magic which holds sway over the demonic power of his contemporaries. Describing himself as "nearly a god" to Vox in "Silenced", Lucifer's power may surpass that of other high-ranked angels. As shown in "Weapon of Mass Distraction", Lucifer's immense power was utilized to power Vox's Might of Lilith, which was capable of shooting an angelic energy beam into Heaven, destroying the barrier made by Sera and other high-ranking angels, and through Heaven's gates, while Lucifer was shown to not be fatigued from his power being drained. Later, in "Curtain Call", Lucifer was continuously drained to power the Might of Lilith while Vox fired numerous beams, slowly fatiguing Lucifer. * **Pyligenesis** - In "Dad Beat Dad", Lucifer was shown to conjure portals as a means of instant transportation, which he is shown to use when transporting other demons. These portals manifest as rings of sparkly light, similar to the portal that took and removed Charlie and Vaggie in "Welcome to Heaven" from Heaven, indicating that this ability is derived from his angelic powers. * **Demonic transformation** - Lucifer can assume a more fearsome and powerful demonic form. * **Immense strength** - Lucifer's physical strength is beyond exceptional, as he barely put any effort during his fight with Adam and was able to easily physically overpower him, mocking the first man, when the angel managed to defeat both Charlie and Alastor in brief skirmishes. He also gave really tight hugs to Charlie and Vaggie to the point where they had slight trouble breathing. * **Flight** - Lucifer can summon six angelic wings on a whim, with the size of his wings varying throughout the show. * **Life creation** - Lucifer created Razzle and Dazzle for Charlie. Lucifer also created the powerful Goetia species of demons. * **Teleportation** - Lucifer can instantly teleport himself and others from one location to another. He does this by enveloping himself in a swirling fog of deep red smoke with sparkling, golden glitter, enveloping himself in a tornado of fire, or instantly appearing or vanishing (along with anyone he is transporting) in a puff of red smoke. * **Shapeshifting** - Lucifer can shapeshift into a wide variety of animals, as seen in "The Show Must Go On", he took the forms of a snake, a goat, a bird, a horse, and an octopus. When he shapeshifts, he still keeps some of his traits, like color scheme, blush, hair, bowtie, and top hat. * **Weather manipulation** - In VOX POPULI, Lucifer is shown being able to manipulate the weather, conjuring a thunderstorm to make himself look more intimidating when arriving to V Tower. * **Electrokinesis** - When Lucifer made his presence known in VOX POPULI, he conjured a massive blast of golden lightning that shut down the lights on the stage and V Tower. He also formed a weapon with golden electricity shooting off of it that was seemingly made out of condensed lightning. When he struck the top of V Tower with the aforementioned weapon, it conjured a massive lightning blast that shattered the tower's windows and dispersed to other buildings. He then conjured balls of electricity that he launched to create large blasts of lightning. * **Conjuration** - Lucifer seems to be able to create virtually anything he desires with a simple flick of the wrist. This includes, but is not limited, to clothing, puppets, instruments, large fountains of champagne, and mountains of caviar. * **Matter manipulation** - Before singing Hell's Greatest Dad, he erases a chandelier by simply tapping his staff on the ground. In "Silenced", he is able to instantly change his pajamas into his regular uniform. * **Hydrokinesis** - During the song Hell's Greatest Dad, Lucifer is seen throwing a yellow-colored liquid, presumably apple juice or champagne, at Alastor. * **Pyrokinesis** - Like his daughter, Charlie, he also has the power to manipulate fire at will. When fighting Adam in "The Show Must Go On" he is seen creating balls of fire out of thin air at will. In "Silenced", he demonstrated further power by creating a swirling mass of fire that coiled around an enormous building resembling a gigantic flaming serpent. * **Fire breath** - He can make fire come out of his mouth when he speaks. * **Pyrotechnics** - Lucifer is capable to shoot fireworks from his hands, a skill first shown when he was still an angel in the "Story of Hell" book in "Overture". ### Skillset * **Musical talent** - Similar to his daughter, Lucifer partakes in singing. * **Instrumental talent** - Additionally, he is shown to be quite a skilled fiddle player during his musical duet with Alastor. Lucifer also showed that he could play a violin and an accordion to a minor degree. He can also play the trumpet, shown for a brief moment at the beginning of the Hell's Greatest Dad. * **Craftsmanship** - Lucifer spends his time making rubber ducks with various gimmicks, such as flipping backwards and spitting fire. * **Hand-to-hand combat** - He is adept at physical combat, as he effortlessly held his own against Adam in "The Show Must Go On". ### Restrictions & Weaknesses * **Heaven's punishment** - It is revealed in "Silenced" that as per Heaven's punishment of banishing Lucifer to Hell to witness the cruelty and wickedness of humanity, he is unable to attack, harm, or smite sinners. This is showcased when he was unable to punch Vox in said episode. However, it is currently unclear as to what exactly prevents him from attacking sinners. As shown in "Curtain Call", one limitation to his punishment is that it only prevents him from personally harming sinners directly, as was shown when he was imprisoned in the Might of Lilith and his angelic power was used as its power source, Vox was able to use it to directly obliterate and vaporize numerous sinners, showing how he can potentially hurt and kill demons indirectly. * **Angelic steel** - In "Weapon of Mass Distraction", Lucifer was showcased to be powerless to break out of or use his power while restrained by the angelic steel used to trap him in what would become the battery for Vox's Might of Lilith. After Vaggie and Carmilla deactivated the Might of Lilith, he was shown able to be harmed and bleeding from the multiple angelic wires Vox stabbed throughout his body to continue using the angelic cannon.
