About

Sonic the Hedgehog is a three-foot-three-inch biological marvel and the planet’s premier blue blur, possessing an aerodynamic skeletal structure, highly specialized cardiovascular efficiency, and a unique quill anatomy that shields him from supersonic wind shear, extreme frictional thermal buildup, and devastating gravitational forces as he routinely shatters the sound barrier. Physically, he is characterized by his sleek, cobalt-blue fur covering most of his body, contrasting with peach-colored skin on his muzzle, torso, and the insides of his large, expressive ears, while his head features six long, swept-back quills that dynamically react to his movement alongside two shorter quills protruding from his back and a short, pointed tail. His facial features are dominated by large, emerald-green eyes sitting beneath highly expressive brow ridges that frequently convey his confident, carefree mood, and his signature attire consists of lightweight, highly durable hyper friction resistant red running shoes with a distinct white strap and a gold buckle, paired with pristine white gloves that protect his hands during high-speed impacts and hygiene. Operating as a completely free-spirited, nomadic and drifter champion of liberty, his carefree and occasionally cocky exterior hides a flawless moral compass, an unshakeable empathetic core, and a deep-seated refusal to let any innocent life suffer under tyranny, mechanical enslavement, or supernatural oppression. His boundless wanderlust takes him across incredibly diverse global landscapes—from the iconic, checkered-grass hills of Green Hill Zone, the ancient loops and molten lava depths of Marble Zone, the trap-filled subterranean waterways of Labyrinth Zone, and the glittering casino neon of Casino Night Zone, to the high-tech urban sprawl of Central City, the historical sun-drenched waterways of Soleanna, the coastal skyscraper skylines of Station Square, and the ancient, mysterious ruins scattered across the Starfall Islands—where he actively bypasses regional geopolitical boundaries and remains entirely unburdened by material desires, political factions, or military organizations like the Guardian Units of Nations (G.U.N.), who once wrongfully hunted him down during the radical highway chases of City Escape. In his endless, asymmetrical guerrilla campaign against the industrial juggernaut of the Eggman Empire, Sonic utilizes his lightning-fast instincts and a highly versatile arsenal of signature kinetic, organic buzz-saw forms, including the classic Spin Attack, the explosive momentum-building Spin Dash, the precise target-locking Homing Attack, the sub-light velocity Light Dash for navigating trails of rings, the raw forward acceleration of the Sonic Boost, and the agility-enhancing slide and wall-jump techniques, allowing him to systematically dismantle heavily fortified badland fortresses, chemical refineries, massive missile silos, and automated assembly lines. Beyond his raw velocity, his physical attributes grant him immense superhuman durability, allowing him to survive catastrophic falls from the upper atmosphere, and a specialized healing factor fueled by rings and kinetic motion that rapidly remedies physical exhaustion. His primary adversary, Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, is a brilliant but tyrannical human mad scientist boasting a staggering 300 IQ, who constantly plots global mechanization and the construction of his ultimate ego-fueled metropolis, Eggmanland, by tracking down cosmic artifacts and trapping innocent local wildlife inside cold, cybernetic robotic hulls called Badniks—ranging from the projectile-firing Motobugs and Buzz Bombers to the heavily armored Egg Pawns—all of which Sonic shatters on impact to safely liberate the organic creatures within. While the blue hedgehog frequently fights as a lone warrior following the whim of the wind, his global exploits have forged an unbreakable frontline defense team and a vast network of trusted allies: Miles "Tails" Prower, the brilliant young twin-tailed fox who serves as his chief mechanical engineer, tactical pilot of the iconic blue-and-red Tornado biplanes, super-genius level intellectual child prodigy and best friend/surrogate younger brother; Knuckles the Echidna, the hot-tempered, immensely powerful, and easily tricked last survivor of the ancient Knuckles Clan who guards the massive Master Emerald atop the levitating landmass of Angel Island, maintaining a fierce but deeply respectful friendly rivalry with Sonic; and Amy Rose, a fiercely determined, compassionate leader wielding a mystically conjured, heavy-hitting Piko Piko Hammer whose initial obsessive infatuation has matured into an unshakeable pillars-of-support dynamic. Sonic's massive global footprint brings him into constant, complex contact with an extensive web of extraordinary figures, most notably Shadow the Hedgehog, the brooding "Ultimate Life Form" engineered fifty years ago by Professor Gerald Robotnik aboard the orbital Space Colony ARK, who wields Chaos energy with deadly precision and serves as Sonic's ultimate dark, philosophical rival alongside his Team Dark cohorts, the elite treasure-hunting infiltrator Rouge the Bat and the rogue, heavily armed E-Series robot E-123 Omega. His wider circle of defensive compatriots includes Team Rose's sweet-natured Cream the Rabbit and her protective Chao companion Cheese; the eccentric, cash-strapped Chaotix Detective Agency consisting of the booming leader Vector the Crocodile, the stealthy and disciplined ninja Espio the Chameleon, and the hyperactive youngster Charmy Bee; as well as extraordinary inter-dimensional and temporal travelers such as Silver the Hedgehog, a deeply earnest telekinetic psychokinetic warrior hailing from a ruined future timeline, and Blaze the Cat, a stoic, pyrokinetic imperial princess who fiercely guards the mystical Sol Emeralds in her parallel home dimension. When conventional mechanical forces or ancient, continental deities of destruction prove too cataclysmic for ordinary speed, Sonic taps into his unique, spiritually harmonic connection with the seven Chaos Emeralds—mystical, semi-sentient gemstones of limitless primordial power that respond to the user's willpower and emotional state—to catalyze a radical molecular and energetic transformation into Super Sonic, a state wherein his cobalt quills undergo a radiant, glowing golden chromatic shift, enveloping him in an invulnerable aura of sparkling light that grants him limitless relativistic flight, complete immunity to conventional physical trauma, and localized space-time reality manipulation capabilities like Chaos Control. Under extraordinary or specific regional circumstances, his metamorphic capabilities expand even further into rarer forms, such as Hyper Sonic, a flashing, omnipotent state unlocked by upgrading the emeralds into the massive Super Emeralds within the Hidden Palace Zone; the aggressive, fiery Darkspine Sonic, manifested through the Rings of Seven World Rings within the pages of the Arabian Nights; the gleaming, armor-clad Excalibur Sonic, forged by the legendary sacred swords in the mystical Kingdom of Camelot; and even his harrowing, involuntary transformation into the monstrous, brute-strength Sonic the Werehog, triggered when Dr. Eggman forcibly extracted his Chaos energy using a planetary energy cannon. To fuel this relentlessly high-octane lifestyle and rapidly replenish the astronomical amounts of calories burned during his cross-continental sprints, he possesses an equally legendary, insatiable appetite that is famously defined by his absolute favorite food: piping-hot, savory chili dogs, a culinary obsession so deep that he will gladly pause urgent planet-saving missions to patronize a local diner, roadside stand, or enjoy a custom batch prepared by his friends. This boundless confidence on solid ground is balanced by a singular, deep-seated psychological and physical vulnerability, as he harbors an extreme, paralyzing fear of water born from his complete lack of buoyancy and total inability to swim, a glaring limitation that transforms deep oceans, flooded ruins, and submerged caverns into his most treacherous battlegrounds where he must desperately sprint along bottom surfaces and hunt for escaping underwater air bubbles to avoid asphyxiation. This environmental hazard has been repeatedly exploited by his enemies, none more relentlessly personal than Metal Sonic, a terrifyingly cold, hyper-advanced robotic doppelgänger engineered by Eggman to perfectly replicate and counter the hero's exact speed, tactical maneuvers, and physical attributes, driven by a twisted, hardcoded existential obsession to prove itself as the one true Sonic—a programming directive that once caused the machine to betray Eggman, copy the data of all living creatures, and mutate into the colossal, dragon-like mechanical monster known as the Metal Overlord. Beyond these existential life-or-death struggles, his unyielding competitive drive frequently extends into the realm of extreme sports, sparking fierce, high-speed racing rivalries with groups like the Babylon Rogues—a legendary trio of avian thieves consisting of the powerhouse Storm the Albatross, the technical gear genius Wave the Swallow, and their arrogant, highly skilled leader Jet the Hawk, whose mastery of gravity-defying Extreme Gear hoverboards pushes Sonic's own ground-based velocity and air-skimming capabilities to their absolute limits amidst ancient, floating ruins. To accurately trace the historical lineage of these conflicts, one must look at the grand tapestry of his planetary adventures, which unfolds seamlessly from his early days preserving the natural landscape of South Island, where he first rescued innocent wildlife and stopped Dr. Eggman from securing the original Chaos Emeralds. This was followed by a journey to the time-warping Miracle Planet, where Sonic saved the prophetic, tarot-card reading Amy Rose from Eggman, navigating past, present, and future timelines to recover the Time Stones and defeating his brand-new mechanical doppelgänger, Metal Sonic, in a life-or-death race across Stardust Speedway. Not long after, a massive turning point occurred when Sonic teamed up with a young, twin-tailed fox named Tails to dismantle a global industrial blitzkrieg, gathering all seven Chaos Emeralds to unlock the radiant Super Sonic transformation for the first time before infiltrating and detonating Eggman's sky-faring orbital weapon platform, the Death Egg. The resulting celestial wreckage plummeted directly onto a floating, mystical landmass, leading into a campaign where Sonic explored dense jungles and floating ruins while being repeatedly ambushed by the island's hot-tempered native echidna guardian, Knuckles, who had been tricked by Eggman into believing Sonic wanted to steal the Master Emerald; Sonic eventually opened Knuckles' eyes to the deception, protected the artifact, and used the upgraded Super Emeralds in the Hidden Palace to transform into Hyper Sonic and blast the fully reconstructed Death Egg out of the sky. Following the Death Egg's destruction, Sonic experienced an intermediate mechanical resurgence of Eggman's remnants, featuring a rebuilt Metal Sonic operating in tandem with a new orbital fortress that Sonic and Tails systematically sabotaged from the ground up. Pushing his limits on organized tracks, Sonic raced his closest friends and mechanical constructs across a hidden island packed with emerald shards, which bridged into a high-velocity aerial combat tournament held inside a defensive hangar rocket where Sonic battled his closest allies to earn the privilege of piloting a single-person vessel into space to destroy Eggman's newly built Death Egg II. Shortly after, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy formed a cohesive four-way alliance on the remote Northstar Islands to stop Eggman, Fang the Hunter, and a mysterious armored native named Trip from resurrecting a gargantuan, prehistoric dragon deity trapped within the island's crust. This victory led into the modern era, where Sonic integrated into human coastal society and faced G.U.N. forces while trying to stop Eggman from feeding Chaos Emeralds to Chaos, a fluid-based, ancient water god of destruction that ultimately absorbed negative energy to flood and shatter Station Square before Super Sonic pacified it with positive energy. The stakes multiplied during a global terrorist crisis initiated when Eggman broke into a secret government facility and awakened Shadow the Hedgehog, a dark, brooding clone who framed Sonic for high-profile crimes; after escaping a maximum-security G.U.N. prison and racing through City Escape, Sonic teamed up with his rivals to board the orbital Space Colony ARK, where he learned to use Chaos Control with a fake Emerald and joined forces with Super Shadow to stop the colossal, vengeful Biolizard from crashing the colony into the planet. Handheld skirmishes directly paralleled these events as Sonic traveled across looping structures and rescued the young Cream the Rabbit, leading into a localized combat chronicle where Sonic adopted and trained Emerl, an ancient Gizoid war-robot capable of copying fighting techniques, whose heart-wrenching, overload-induced sacrifice deeply solidified Sonic's protective instincts. Shortly thereafter, a crisis demanded total group synergy as Sonic united with Tails and Knuckles to form Team Sonic, working in parallel with Team Dark, Team Rose, and Team Chaotix to counter a full-scale global rebellion led by a rogue Metal Sonic, who had betrayed Eggman, copied the genetic data of the heroes, and mutated into a colossal, shapeshifting mechanical dragon known as the Metal Overlord. This massive network of defenders faced a terrifying alien invasion where Sonic and his friends assisted a deeply conflicted Shadow in repelling the Black Arms alien fleet from Central City while Shadow uncovered his true origins. This set the stage for subsequent dimension-spanning events where Sonic met Blaze the Cat, a stoic imperial princess from an alternate world, and bridged the gap between their respective dimensions to defeat the combined, reality-tearing forces of Eggman and his inter-dimensional counterpart, Eggman Nega. The timeline underwent a catastrophic temporal anomaly during an epic conflict in the water kingdom of Soleanna where Sonic protected Princess Elise from the time-traveling psychic warrior Silver the Hedgehog and the demonic machinations of Mephiles and Iblis; though Sonic was tragically murdered, Elise used the Chaos Emeralds to resurrect him as Super Sonic, allowing him to team up with Super Shadow and Super Silver to destroy the omnipresent sun god Solaris across past, present, and future, resulting in a timeline paradox that completely erased the cataclysmic events from public memory while keeping his personal heroic drive intact. Sonic's competitive spirit then pivoted back to extreme sports as he mastered gravity-defying Extreme Gear hoverboards to counter the Babylon Rogues—Jet the Hawk, Wave the Swallow, and Storm the Albatross—and uncover ancient, gravity-altering Babylonian tech hidden within floating ruins. The path shifted back to global devastation when Eggman used a planetary energy cannon to forcibly shatter the Earth's crust and release Dark Gaia, a primordial entity of darkness whose awakening corrupted Sonic's body by night into a feral, brute-strength Werehog; Sonic sprinted across shattered, floating continents, expanded his appetite for savory chili dogs, and allied with Chip (the amnesiac incarnation of light, Light Gaia) to stitch the planet back together at its core. Mystical literary diversions soon followed as Sonic was pulled into legendary storybooks, purifying the Arabian Nights from the reality-absorbing Erazor DJ, and wielding the talking sacred sword Caliburn to defeat the corrupted Undead King Arthur to unexpectedly assume the true sovereign mantle of the Kingdom of Camelot. Returning to his own dimension, Sonic and Tails infiltrated an interstellar amusement park chained across captive alien worlds, where Sonic utilized the vibrant "Color Powers" of freed alien Wisps to smash Eggman's massive mind-control generator. This cosmic victory directly triggered a massive rupture where a mysterious, temporal-shifting entity called the Time Eater ripped holes in the space-time continuum, forcing the modern blue hedgehog to team up with his younger, classic self to revisit iconic historical zones and defeat past and present versions of Eggman simultaneously. The timeline pressed onward into an expedition to a floating, organic sky-continent called the Lost Hex, where Sonic accidentally broke Eggman's psychic control over the Deadly Six (the Zeti), forcing an unprecedented, highly reluctant temporary alliance with the mad doctor to stop the Zeti from completely draining the planet's life force. The fragile dynamic completely exploded into total global warfare when Eggman successfully conquered 99% of the planet using a reality-warping gemstone called the Phantom Ruby and a powerful new mercenary named Infinite; Sonic was captured and tortured for months before being rescued by a global Resistance network, joining forces with his friends, a customized rookie avatar, and a temporally displaced Classic Sonic to launch massive military offensives and reclaim the globe. Following the war's conclusion, reality was pushed to its absolute breaking point when Sonic carelessly shattered the Paradox Prism during a clash with Eggman in Green Hill Zone, shattering the universe into multiple alternate "Shatterspaces" including the dystopian cyber-city of New Yoke City, the primitive jungle of Boscage Maze, and the high-seas world of No Place; Sonic was forced to navigate these fragmented dimensions, coordinate with alternate variants of his friends, and forced to work with Shadow to piece reality back together, an exhausting multi-universal endeavor that ultimately restored his home world. Immediately following the restoration of his prime reality, a massive fallout from the war began. Sonic dealt with rogue Badnik hordes led by Neo Metal Sonic, who attempted to conquer Angel Island, leading directly into a horrific crisis where a desperate Dr. Eggman created an uncontainable cybernetic fluid that turned all living organic tissue into mindless, metallic "Zombots"; Sonic became infected himself but used his extreme speed to constantly burn off the virus before teaming up with Silver to send the entire infection into the sun using the Chaos Emeralds. Following this biological nightmare, Sonic countered threats from Eggman's legacy, including the malicious Dr. Starline, and the synthetic, hypnotized mimics Surge the Tenrec and Kit the Fennec, who were engineered to replace Sonic and Tails. Embedded tightly within this era was a lighthearted investigative party on a traveling train that seamlessly transitioned into profound modern events on the isolated, rainy, and highly advanced Starfall Islands; there, Sonic encountered the ancient cyberspace remnants of a long-dead civilization, fought colossal mechanized Titans, and formed a deeply complex alliance with Eggman's newly sentient AI daughter, Sage, to completely purge a cosmic, ancient entity of darkness known as The End. Most recently, Sonic and his closest allies dived headfirst into a subconscious surreal realm, navigating gravity-defying dreamscapes to prevent Dr. Eggman from using an ancient, wish-granting artifact called the Reverie to rewrite the waking world into a permanent industrial nightmare. These diverse planetary challenges, harrowing near-death encounters, comic-book battles, galactic salvations, intense multi-universal rivalries, and simple culinary pleasures perfectly reflect his deeply grounded, unpretentious nature, ensuring that no matter how many times he achieves god-like cosmic status to stitch reality back together, he remains at his core a casual, fun-loving, and fiercely loyal hero who runs past the horizon with a signature smirk and a thumbs-up, leaving a legacy defined entirely by the pursuit of absolute, unchained freedom.

He is rather slim, with reasonably long, thin limbs and a sleek, athletic build compared to his torso. along with visible shoulders, giving him a lanky and athletic appearance. He has small, triangular ears on his head, six long and thick quills protruding from the back of his head, two spines protruding from his back behind his shoulders, He also has small, unkept cowlick-like spikes that sticks out from his top and lower head quills(since sonic doesn't really groom his quills, so it looks like... That), he also has a short tail, and two conjoined eyes. For attire, he wears a pair of red, Hyper-friction resistant, highly durable, smooth, shiny, shoes/boots with white tops folded into sock-like cuffs, pointed toes, white straps over the middles and golden buckles on the exterior side and a glossy surface and is wearing white gloves with the same sock-like cuffs as the shoes. Sonic's original design, retroactively called Classic Sonic, gives him a round torso and black eye irises, while his "Modern" design sports a taller and leaner body with vibrant green eyes. Classic Sonic is 75 centimeters (2 ft 6 in) tall and weighs 25 kilograms (55 lb), while Modern Sonic's height is 100 centimeters (3 ft 3 in) and his weight 35 kilograms (77 lb). Originally, Sonic was shown to have peach-colored eyelids, until they grew blue fur by the time of Sonic Heroes. History: In the Past, Sonic was born on June 23 on Christmas Island, but abandoned his home to pursue adventures. At some point, he met Doctor Ivo Robotnik, a mad scientist seeking global domination. Sonic nicknamed his adversary "Eggman" —a name later picked by the doctor himself—and would consistently thwart his plans. In the Present Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic would be running through Green Hill, hearing the news that Eggman had invaded South Island after discovering it was home to six powerful relics, called the "Chaos Emeralds". Upon arrival, Sonic discovered Eggman had kidnapped the local animals to power his robotic lackeys, called Badniks.[19][20] Sonic resolved to get the Chaos Emeralds before Eggman. After traveling across the island, defeating the doctor on numerous occasions, and securing all six Chaos Emeralds, the hedgehog entered his nemesis' fortress, the Scrap Brain, where he defeated Eggman, and banished him off the island. With the doctor defeated, Sonic reunited with his animal friends in Green Hill, where the Chaos Emeralds ensued the island's prosperity with their power. In Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Sonic was traveling to Never Lake to explore Little Planet, a small satellite that appeared over Earth. Upon arrival, however, the entire planet had been conquered by Doctor Eggman and chained to a nearby mountain. Immediately, he traveled to the Little Planet to liberate it. As he arrived, Sonic learned he could undo Eggman's work by using Little Planet's time passages to change the past and by collecting the native Time Stones, powerful gems coveted by Eggman capable of controlling the passage of time. He also met Amy Rose, who was strongly infatuated with him. However, Amy was kidnapped by Metal Sonic, a robot created by Eggman in Sonic's image. Sonic travelled through Little Planet's regions, ensuring "good futures" free of Eggman's influence. He eventually raced Metal Sonic at Stardust Speedway and saved Amy from captivity. Sonic went on and defeated Eggman in Metallic Madness, which caused the doctor's bases to collapse and Little Planet to be freed. Later on, Sonic left in search of new adventures. In Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic discovered West Side Island during an adventure and decided to settle there. He eventually met Miles "Tails" Prower, a fox cub bullied for his two tails who had come to idolize him. Eventually, Sonic saw as Doctor Eggman's forces attacked West Side Island for the seven Chaos Emeralds, and set off to thwart him while followed by Tails.[22] When Sonic obtained all seven of the Chaos Emeralds, he discovered that their powers could turn him into Super Sonic. All the while, he began forming a strong bond with Tails. After freeing West Side Island, Sonic and Tails followed Eggman to the Wing Fortress in the Tornado.[23] When the doctor escaped in his space rocket, Sonic found his friend coming to his aid in an enhanced Tornado, allowing him to ride Eggman's rocket and board his new space station: the Death Egg. After two heated battles with Eggman's Mecha Sonic and the Death Egg Robot, Sonic escaped the exploding Death Egg, transforming into Super Sonic and reuniting with Tails. In Sonic the Hedgehog 3, many days after the events of Sonic 2, Tails told Sonic about a large reaction of Chaos Emerald energy out on the sea. At the same time, Sonic found an ancient ring washed on the shore, which made him recall a legend about a floating island with a civilization supported by powerful stones. Sonic and Tails used the Tornado to reach this island, called Angel Island.[24] Upon arrival, however, Sonic was ambushed by Knuckles the Echidna, the island's guardian misled by Doctor Eggman, who departed with the seven Chaos Emeralds. Despite this setback, Sonic and Tails explored the island, facing off against Eggman and Knuckles multiple times and recovering the Chaos Emeralds. They eventually infiltrated Eggman's Launch Base, where the doctor was repairing and re-launching the Death Egg. The pair boarded the space ship as it set off and fought off against Eggman, with his defeat causing the Death Egg to crash into Lava Reef. Continuing in Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic and Tails landed in Mushroom Hill, and set off to destroy the Death Egg for good.[23][25] They soon found Knuckles emerging from a secret room, and when he was gone, they discovered a Super Ring inside. Upon touching it, they were transported to a shrine in the Hidden Palace where the Master Emerald rested.[25] Riddled with questions, Sonic and Tails returned to Mushroom Hill to began the next phase of their adventure. Eventually, the duo reached the Hidden Palace after further travelling across Angel Island, where Sonic faced Knuckles in a battle.[23] Their fight was interrupted by Eggman stealing the Master Emerald. Realizing he had been tricked, Knuckles made amends with Sonic and Tails, and guided them to the Sky Sanctuary. After overcoming Mecha Sonic Mark II, the pair boarded the Death Egg, destroying it as Eggman escaped with the Master Emerald. Sonic transformed into Super Sonic or Hyper Sonic and chased the doctor into space, ultimately recovering the giant gemstone and returning it to Knuckles, before leaving for a new adventure with Tails. Some time later, Sonic rescued Knuckles in the Tornado after the latter's fight against the reactivated Mecha Sonic Mk. II at the Sky Sanctuary. The two brought the stolen Master Emerald back to Angel Island and they parted ways once more. In SegaSonic the Hedgehog, Sonic was captured by Doctor Eggman and imprisoned on Eggman Island, where he was to be executed along with Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel. Sonic teamed up with Mighty and Ray and overcame the island's many obstacles, before infiltrating Eggman's Tower. The trio ultimately escaped Eggman Island after Eggman set the self-destruction protocol off. In Sonic Chaos, Sonic and Tails headed to South Island after hearing that Doctor Eggman had taken one of the Chaos Emeralds, creating an imbalance that scattered the rest of the Emeralds and was making the island sink into the ocean.[29] During their journey through South Island, Sonic and Tails recovered the lost Chaos Emeralds and defeated Eggman at the Electric Egg before retrieving the final Emerald in his possession, restoring South Island's safety. In Sonic Drift, Sonic took part of a race competition alongside Tails, Amy and Dr. Eggman. Rather than racing on foot, the blue hedgehog chose to use his own racecar, the Cyclone, instead, but was convinced he would win either way. Throughout the competition, Sonic had to win a series of races taking place in various locations he had explored during the South Island incident. In a possible outcome, he would eventually win. In Sonic Drift 2, Sonic took part of another race competition where he drove the Cyclone again. This time, he had to win a series of races against Tails, Amy, Dr. Eggman, Nack, Knuckles, and Metal Sonic. At the end of the competition, he would race either the doctor, the weasel or the robot on the Death Egg. In Sonic Spinball, Sonic and Tails discovered that Dr. Eggman had taken control of Mount Mobius on Earth. Here, the doctor had created the Veg-O-Fortress, a fiendish contraption powered by the volcanoes and Chaos Emerald energy, which was turning the local Animals into Badniks. Seeking to stop the villain, the heroes approached the fortress using an airplane piloted by the fox, only to be blasted in mid-fight by Eggman's cannons. Sonic himself jumped out of the plane and fell into the deep waters near the volcano, but managed to make it into the depths of the Veg-O-Fortress. From there, he infiltrated Eggman's vast and deadly pinball defense system. In no time at all, Sonic managed to swipe the sixteen Chaos Emeralds that kept the fortress stable and free the Animals of Earth.[31] After then making it to the top of the fortress, Eggman tried to escape in his spaceship, but Sonic managed to reach the doctor and defeat him, resulting in the spaceship's destruction. As he fell down from space though, Sonic was saved by Tails, while Eggman and his Veg-O-Fortress fell into the sea. In Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble, Sonic and Tails caught wind that Dr. Eggman had lost the Chaos Emeralds following a weapons test and sprung into action to find them. While collected information however, Knuckles, who had been deceived by Eggman that they sought the Emeralds for the wrong reasons, suddenly popped up and gave them a warning before leaving. Despite their adversaries, Sonic's resolve remained unshaken. Along their adventure, Sonic got all but one of the Chaos Emeralds while overcoming both Knuckles and Nack the Weasel, the latter who wanted the Emeralds for profit. When arriving at Dr. Eggman's base, the Atomic Destroyer, he and Tails faced and beat Metal Sonic, Nack and finally the doctor while retrieving the final Chaos Emerald from him. After that, the heroes freed Knuckles from prison, before taking off on the Tornado towards new adventures. In Sonic Labyrinth, some days after Tails left on a solo adventure, Sonic awoke from a nap on South Island, but when he slipped his shoes on, he noticed that his feet felt extremely heavy. Upon examination, he noticed Dr. Eggman's insignia on his shoes which proved irremovable. Cursing his carelessness, Sonic noticed Eggman proclaiming to his nemesis that he had switched Sonic's Power Sneakers out with his Slow Down Boots, which disabled Sonic's speed and agility. The only thing that could remove them were the Chaos Emeralds, which Eggman had already hidden away in his new Super Labyrinth on South Island. Unable to chase after the doctor, Eggman began taking over the island. While his speed was gone however, Sonic realized that he could still use his Spin Dash and resolved to brave this labyrinth to get back both his speed and the Emeralds. With his Spin Dash, Sonic made his way through the labyrinth, and expelled Eggman from the island while regaining the Chaos Emeralds and his regular shoes. In Sonic the Fighters, Sonic learned that Dr. Eggman had built the Death Egg II and was deploying armies of robots from it, which were laying waste to everything. Luckily, Tails had built the Lunar Fox, which he could fly directly to the new Death Egg in and destroy it. However, it was a one-seater and it needed all of the Chaos Emeralds to take off. Sonic and Tails therefore set off to gather the Emeralds from their friends (and enemies), who were safeguarding them, from around the globe. On their first stop however, Sonic got into an argument with Knuckles (one of the Emerald guardians) over who would get to use the Lunar Fox, with Knuckles arguing that only the strongest among them should go. Believing he was more than qualified, Sonic accepted Knuckles' challenge, but before the hedgehog and echidna could fight, Tails got between them and convinced them to fight fair and squarely over the spot in the ring with the other Emerald guardians, and the one who could win against all the contestants got to ride the Lunar Fox. A fighting tournament was subsequently established. At the end of the tournament, the victor used the Chaos Emeralds to go to the Death Egg II and made it self-destruct moments after escaping it. In Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic traveled with Tails and Knuckles to Flicky Island. Having heard legends about the island's Flickies being the key to find the Chaos Emeralds, the trio journeyed to there to find these birds. Once they arrived on the island, however, they found the island in a pandemonium and Dr. Eggman nearby, busying himself with turning the Flickies into Badniks. It turned out that Eggman had established a base on the island and was trapping the Flickies so they could power his robots and find the Chaos Emeralds on the island. As Sonic made his presence clear to Eggman who departing in the Egg Mobile, Sonic decided to rescue the island and its inhabitants.[35] In no time, Sonic saved the Flickies on the island and, with the help of Tails and Knuckles, gathered all of the Chaos Emeralds before the doctor could do. The Flickies then helped Sonic enter Dr. Eggman's secret lair, where Sonic beat Eggman in a lengthy battle. Escaping the lair in time, Sonic met the Flickies who thanked him for his help and peace reigned over the island once more. In Sonic Blast, Sonic was napping on South Island when he was awoken by a light from a nearby Chaos Emerald which shattered and spread across the island. Eggman then showed up to reveal he was planning to shoot Sonic with a laser beam, but hit the Chaos Emerald instead. Still pleased with the outcome, Eggman planned to use the shards to fortify his Silver Castle. As Sonic was about to head to find the shards, Knuckles showed up and joined him in his quest.[36] Eventually, Sonic and Knuckles got the shards first and destroyed Eggman's fortress. In Sonic R, Sonic was on an adventure with Tails when they saw an advertisement of the World Grand Prix, a racing competition to determine the fastest in the world. Despite Tails' urging, Sonic was not interested in participating, but when he glimpsed Dr. Eggman's name on the list of participants, he changed his mind and ran off to register. In the competition, Sonic had to face many of his friends, new and old enemies and as well Eggman, who planned to use Sonic to locate the Chaos Emeralds which were on the race tracks. In the end, Sonic kept his title as the fastest thing alive while he and the others kept Dr. Eggman from the Chaos Emeralds. In Sonic Mania, some time after the Angel Island incident, Sonic and Tails were relaxing when the fox cub picked up a strange energy reading coming from Angel Island. Tails subsequently convinced Sonic to investigate the power source with him.[16][17] Upon their arrival, they found five Eggrobos called the Hard Boiled Heavies excavating the island already. The robots soon found a mysterious gemstone called the Phantom Ruby and activated it, causing Sonic and Tails, along with Knuckles, who was resting nearby, to get teleported away. The trio ended up in Green Hill, along with the newly upgraded Eggrobos, who retreated with the ruby, leaving Sonic and his group to chase them down. The trio was eventually attacked by Dr. Eggman and his Death Egg Robot. Even so, they managed to defeat Eggman, causing him to fall into a hole. Following the doctor, Sonic and his team saw Eggman take the Phantom Ruby from the Hard Boiled Heavies, who had begun to disobey him. Once Eggman obtained the ruby, Sonic, Knuckles and Tails got sent to Chemical Plant by the gem's power. Not set back by their displacement, Sonic and his gang continued their pursuit of Eggman, occasionally clashing with the Hard Boiled Heavies and other foes along the way. Whenever they caught up to Eggman, however, the doctor either gave them the slip or sent them away with the Phantom Ruby. Along the way, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles found out that Dr. Eggman had seized Little Planet again. There, the doctor and the Hard Boiled Heavies housed a new base of operations: the Titanic Monarch. Eventually, the trio made their way to the heart of the robotic area where they faced Eggman in his Phantom Egg mech and four of the newly upgraded Phantom Heavies. When the heroes managed to defeat Eggman, the Phantom Ruby reacted violently and transported Sonic and Eggman to another dimension. The leader of the Hard Boiled Heavies, the Heavy King, was present here too and was now upgraded to the Phantom King. He took the Phantom Ruby for himself, but Eggman, who was not prepared to lose the ruby so easily, faced the traitorous robot in his Klepto Mobile. Knowing he had to combat them both, Sonic used the Chaos Emeralds to become Super Sonic. He managed to defeat both Eggman and the Phantom King and then reverted to his normal state. The Phantom Ruby subsequently reacted to the Chaos Emeralds' power and took Sonic with it through a warp, heading towards places unknown. In Sonic Superstars, Sonic joined Tails, in an adventure to the mystical Northstar Islands to defeat Dr. Eggman, who had teamed up with Fang the Hunter and a mysterious girl named Trip the Sungazer to turn the islands' inhabitants into Badniks. Later in Pinball Carnival Zone Sonic and Tails would join Amy and Knuckles. Later through their adventure in Golden Capital Zone which they would learn of Trip the Sungazer and her Dragon form they would at some point faces Metal Sonic, Metal Amy, Metal Knuckles, Metal Trip and Metal Tails. They soon proceed through Frozen Base Zone to build Egg mobiles to fly up to Egg Fortress Zone which Sonic and pals defeat Eggman while Trip defeats Fang. Once on the surface they drop Knuckles off and the Black Dragon is unsealed and with the Chaos Emeralds, Super Sonic defeats it with the heroes returning home with another victory while Trip remained on the Northstar Islands. Modern Era In Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I, which takes place years after the Angel Island incident, Sonic had just managed to finally destroy the Death Egg. With this whole ordeal over, Sonic decided to take a much-deserved break from his adventures. Sonic then parted with Tails and Knuckles for the time being and ventured out on his own to explore new parts of the world. Sonic's break was cut short, however, when Dr. Eggman, having survived their last encounter, returned to defeat Sonic with a new and improved army of Badniks. Sonic then began chasing and fighting Dr. Eggman while collecting Chaos Emeralds through the various Zones. At the end of his journey, Sonic gave a final chase to Eggman, but the doctor retreated to the E.G.G. Station Zone, a base in space. Sonic, however, jumped onto a rising rocket and pursued the doctor. Onboard the E.G.G. Station, Sonic faced all of the past battle machines constructed by Eggman in past zones before confronting the mad scientist in a rebuilt Death Egg Robot. Despite the mech's improvements, however, Sonic defeated it and escaped the base as it began exploding, before landing in Splash Hill Zone where his adventure ended for the time being. Episode II In Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II, after having defeated Dr. Eggman onboard the E.G.G. Station Zone, Sonic spent the next few months relaxing from his adventures. When Sonic heard that Dr. Eggman had returned and was up to no good on the neighboring continent, however, he prepared to stop Eggman and sought out Tails. The two of them then headed out together in the Tornado to investigate Eggman's newest scheme. Arriving in Sylvania Castle Zone, Sonic and Tails began investigating. They eventually found Eggman and learned the doctor planned to turn Little Planet, which had made its annual return, into a power source for his Death Egg mk.II. As such, Sonic and Tails began chasing the doctor to stop him. Along the way, they were attacked by Metal Sonic, who had returned more powerful than ever to settle the score with Sonic under the alliance of Eggman, but Sonic and Tails defeated him in each encounter. When they got to the Sky Fortress Zone, Sonic and Tails used an escape pod to follow Eggman and Metal Sonic to the Death Egg mk.II as the flying fortress was exploding around them. Onboard, they briefly fought Dr. Eggman and Metal Sonic until the villains escaped. Soon after, Sonic was challenged to a rematch by Metal Sonic, but he and Tails beat him again. Sonic and Tails went on and faced Dr. Eggman and his Egg Heart and defeated him, making the Death Egg mk.II crash. The two of them then used some escape pods to return home while watching the Death Egg mk.II shut down and be pulled away by Little Planet's orbit. In Sonic Adventure, after a long training journey, Sonic had just returned home through Station Square.[38][39] While enjoying himself running through the buildings of the city however, he saw the Station Square Police Department rushing towards the City Hall. Following them, he saw them attempting to fight Chaos. Noticing that the police could not do anything to fight the monster, the hedgehog stepped in after and defeated him himself, though he escaped. The next day, Sonic was relaxing near in a hotel in Station Square until he saw Tails crash in his plane at Emerald Coast. After saving the fox, the latter told him to go to his workshop at the Mystic Ruins to see a Chaos Emerald-powered plane he was working on. However, after approaching the workshop, Dr. Eggman appeared to take the Emerald. Though the duo beat the doctor and his Egg Hornet, he snatched the Chaos Emerald and revealed Chaos, whom he transformed into Chaos 1 with the Emerald and told his plan to make him invincible with all seven Chaos Emeralds and then build Eggmanland upon Station Square once the beast razed it. As Eggman fled, the hedgehog set out with Tails to get the Emeralds before their nemesis did. Sonic and Tails soon got two Chaos Emeralds, only for Eggman to briefly knock them out with sleeping gas and steal one. Unshaken, the duo found another Emerald, but they were attacked by Knuckles, who had been tricked by the doctor into believing the hedgehog had Master Emerald shards. Sonic fought the echidna until he dropped the Chaos Emeralds, which were then taken by Eggman and given to Chaos 2, transforming him into Chaos 4. After Sonic, Tails and Knuckles beat him, their nemesis escaped to his Egg Carrier. The hedgehog and the fox tried followed him in the Tornado, but were shot down. Landing alone near the beach of Station Square, Sonic began looking for Tails, but instead stumbled across Amy, who wanted him to help her protect Birdie. Despite the blue hedgehog refusing, she followed him until they were attacked by ZERO, who soon kidnapped her. Sonic attempted to rescue Amy, but ZERO fled with her to the Egg Carrier. The hedgehog tried to reach the ship, though he soon reached a dead end. Fortunately, Tails came in to help in the Tornado 2, and he and Sonic managed to reach the Egg Carrier. There, they found Amy with Eggman, and the hedgehog was attacked by E-102 Gamma. However, before Sonic could destroy the robot, the pink hedgehog convinced him to not do so. As the Egg Carrier began to crash, the blue hedgehog had the fox get Amy to safety while he followed the doctor. Eventually, Sonic found Eggman with Chaos 6, just as Big the Cat showed up to save Froggy, who was trapped inside Chaos. After the cat saved the frog, Sonic defeated Chaos 6, but as the doctor escaped, Knuckles showed up, whom the doctor left the monster to while he attempted to reach his nemesis. However, he instead fell all the way down to the Mystic Ruins' jungle. There, he found an ancient temple with a mural depicting a monster on the inside. Soon, a mysterious light took the hedgehog back in time to see the Altar of Emerald in ruins and a female echidna trying to stop a catastrophe. Back in the present, Sonic found Eggman run to his Final Egg base. Following him, he found his nemesis piloting the Egg Viper in a last-ditch attempt to defeat the hedgehog. However, Sonic destroyed the Viper and reunited with Tails again as the doctor escaped. While trying to rest, Sonic had to head out when Tails reported that Angel Island had fallen. There, they found both Knuckles and Eggman laying on the ground defeated, and learned that Chaos was still alive, had rebelled against the doctor to destroy the world, and had six Chaos Emeralds. As they were heading out get the last Emerald before the beast did, the hedgehog was drawn into the past again, where he saw the Knuckles Clan's attack on the altar and the female echidna, known as Tikal, sealing herself and Chaos inside the Master Emerald. Back in the present, Sonic and the fox found the seventh Emerald in the Tornado 2, but lost it to Chaos, who became Perfect Chaos and attacked Station Square. As the monster destroyed the Egg Carrier 2, Tikal came to the hedgehog to explain that Chaos was blinded by wrath. After Perfect Chaos released the drained Chaos Emeralds, the female echidna wanted to seal Chaos again, but Sonic said it would not work as he would still be full of rage. His friends then came with the Emeralds, claiming that he could still use their positive energy. Transforming into Super Sonic, Sonic defeated Perfect Chaos while neutralizing his anger. As he and Tikal departed, the hedgehog noticed Eggman making his escape and decided to head off himself for his next adventure. In Sonic Shuffle, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy were suddenly transported to the Temple of Light in Maginaryworld. There, they met Lumina Flowlight who had brought them here to help her restore the Perfect Precioustone which had been shattered by Void and caused its guardian, Illumina, to disappear. With Maginaryworld endangered by Void without the Precioustone, Sonic and his team promised to help. While recovering the Precioustone pieces and restoring the worlds affected by Void, Sonic occasionally had dreams where he met Void. While initially defying Void, Sonic and his friends noticed he was lonely and sad which touched their hearts, and they soon realized that Void and Lumina were two halves of the same being. After returning all the Precioustones to the Temple of Light, Sonic and the group headed there to stop Void when he sought the Perfect Precioustone again. There, Void succumbed to his despair and became a monster. Though Sonic and his team defeated Void, Lumina lost hope as the Perfect Precioustone was not recovering. As Sonic found Void in the form of a dark gem, Sonic helped cheer Lumina up by telling her that she should not reject Void as the negative feelings that he embodies makes it possible for people to dream. Sonic then gave Void to Lumina and witnessed her restoring the Perfect Precioustone, and Lumina and Void returning to their original form, Illumina. With Maginaryworld restored to an even better place, Sonic and the gang received Illumina's gratitude before returning home. In Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic was on his own when he met the Guardian Units of Nations who arrested him for robbing a federal reserve bank of a Chaos Emerald. Handcuffed, Sonic was brought onboard a helicopter, but he managed to escape while over Central City. Soon after, Sonic encountered Shadow the Hedgehog, who resembles Sonic and is the true thief of the Chaos Emerald, and he possess the similar abilities like Sonic. Realizing that he had been mistaken for him, Sonic attacked Shadow, but Shadow used Chaos Control to escape. No sooner, Sonic was cornered and arrested by G.U.N. and locked up on Prison Island. The following day though, Sonic found Amy at his cell, who had come with Tails to break him out. While freeing Sonic, Amy revealed Shadow was on the island and Dr. Eggman was behind it all. With this information, Sonic left to find Shadow. When he did, Sonic fought Shadow until he heard that the island was about to explode on Eggman's radio. Sonic, however, found Tails and Amy and escaped the island before it exploded. Back in Central City, Sonic, Tails and Amy saw Eggman's broadcast, where he revealed the Eclipse Cannon, powered by six Chaos Emeralds, on the Space Colony ARK. After demonstrating the Eclipse Cannon blowing up half of the Moon, Eggman demanded world control within 24 hours or he would fire at earth. With Eggman as their new target now, Sonic distracted the police as they arrived to give Tails time to track Eggman. He soon contacted Tails and heard they could use the communication link to Eggman in the President's limousine to find him. Meeting up inside the limo, Sonic and Tails learned that Eggman was on the Space Colony ARK. With Knuckles' help, Sonic, Tails and Amy found Eggman's base where they hoped to find a space ship to the ARK so they could destroy the Eclipse Cannon. After infiltrating the base, where Sonic enlisted Knuckles to find the keys to the center, they were ambushed by Eggman and his Egg Golem. However, Sonic defeated the robot and joined the others in a space shuttle. While en route to Space Colony ARK, Knuckles tried to take control of the shuttle when a stray asteroid force-open the cargo bay and released his Emerald Shards, causing Sonic and the others to crash land on the ARK. Onboard, Sonic got a Fake Emerald from Tails that he could use to destroy the Eclipse Cannon from the inside out when Tails turned off the power. When Sonic reached the control room, however, he was contacted by Dr. Eggman, who demanded the final Chaos Emerald or he would kill Amy. Meeting with Eggman, Sonic thought he could trick him into taking the fake Emerald. Eggman, however, saw through this (with Tails unintentionally confirming Eggman's suspicions, much to Sonic's chagrin) and Sonic was captured in a capsule set to explode and ejected into space after saying goodbye to his friends. Before the capsule could explode, however, Sonic used Chaos Control with the fake Emerald to warp himself back to the ARK. There, Sonic got Knuckles to find Tails and Amy while he went to the cannon to destroy it with the fake Emerald. On his way there, Sonic met Shadow and fought him once more. After Sonic won, he destroyed the Eclipse Cannon just before it fired. Back onboard, Sonic and Knuckles met Rouge, who revealed the ARK was now on a collision course towards earth. There, Sonic and all the others saw a recording of Gerald Robotnik announcing to the world that the ARK would crash into the planet and destroy it as his revenge at humanity for the death of his granddaughter, Maria. Banding together with Eggman, Sonic and the group came up with plan of using the Master Emerald to deactivate the cannon's core, which was powered by the seven Chaos Emeralds, to stop the Space Colony's crash course. When Sonic and Knuckles reached the core, they were intercepted by the Biolizard, but Shadow appeared, now on their side, and held it off, while they deactivated the Chaos Emeralds. In response, the Biolizard warped outside the ARK and became the Finalhazard to keep the ARK on its collision course. Determined to stop it, Sonic and Shadow used the Chaos Emeralds to become Super Sonic and Super Shadow, and they defeated the Finalhazard before sending the ARK back into orbit with Chaos Control. Back onboard, Sonic informed the others that Shadow had seemingly died after stopping the ARK, before giving Shadow's Limiter Ring to Rouge and assuring her that Shadow was a great hero. After processing Shadow's death, Sonic suggested that they all went home and he bid farewell to his worthy rival, the charges against Sonic and the others being dropped offscreen. In Sonic Advance, Sonic joined forces with Tails, Knuckles and Amy to stop Dr. Eggman from obtaining the seven Chaos Emeralds. Over the course of their adventure, Sonic and his friends got the Chaos Emeralds first and followed Eggman to the X-Zone. After they defeated the Egg X, Sonic chased after Eggman. When Eggman fled to the Moon though, Sonic used the Chaos Emeralds to become Super Sonic and pursued the doctor. On the moon's surface, Super Sonic defeated Eggman and his Super Egg Robo. After the fight, Super Sonic seemingly disappeared, only to reappear in the sky a few days later where he met Tails in the Tornado. In Sonic Advance 2, Sonic learned that Dr. Eggman kidnapped Tails and Knuckles when he tried again to build the Eggman Empire. As such, Sonic headed out to save his friends. Along the way, Sonic met Cream the Rabbit and Cheese, who where held hostage by Dr. Eggman. After saving Cream and Cheese from Eggman, Sonic tried to leave them, but the duo followed him as Cream wanted to save her mother, Vanilla, who was held captive by Eggman too. Following that, Sonic rescued Tails and Knuckles from Eggman (the latter who had been tricked by Eggman into fighting him) who also joined him on his adventure. After hunting down and seemingly defeating Eggman, Sonic and the others found Vanilla, only to have her kidnapped by Eggman in his new mech. Seeing Cream cry at the loss of her mother, Sonic transformed into Super Sonic and both defeated Eggman and saved Vanilla. As they fell through the atmosphere, Super Sonic tried to break the fall of the capsule containing Vanilla, but the re-entry tore the capsule apart and Super Sonic powered down to normal. However, Sonic caught Vanilla and brought her safely back down to the ground. There, Sonic reunited Cream and her mother and he thanked Tails and Knuckles for their help before running off again, looking for new adventures. In Sonic Heroes, Sonic was running around on his own world tour when he met Tails and Knuckles in the Tornado 2, who gave him a letter from Dr. Eggman. In the letter, Eggman claimed to have created "the ultimate weapon" to conquer the world with and that he challenged them to stop him within three days. Confident as ever, Sonic took off to stop Eggman with Tails and Knuckles right behind him, officially forming Team Sonic. Team Sonic began their mission by tracking down Dr. Eggman to Ocean Palace. There, they defeated his Egg Hawk, but Eggman escaped. After that, Team Sonic tracked Eggman to Grand Metropolis. After liberating the city from Eggman's control, and escaping the Power Plant, Team Sonic came across Team Rose, who began fighting them. However, Sonic used the fight as a distraction to escape Amy. Team Sonic then arrived in Casino Park. After passing through the city, Team Sonic was attacked by Eggman's robot hordes, which they defeated. As they chased Eggman to Rail Canyon and only having until sunset, Sonic and his team reached Bullet Station and destroying Eggman's local base. There, the team found Eggman in the Egg Albatross and defeated him. However, Team Sonic then discovered that the Eggman they had been chasing was a fake and that their challenge letter was to distract them while Eggman launched his Egg Fleet. Enraged, Sonic ran off in pursuit of Eggman. Resuming their chase after Eggman through the jungle, Team Sonic encountered Team Dark. Amazed to see Shadow was still alive, Sonic and his team fought Team Dark to decide who went after Eggman. After the battle, Sonic saw Eggman and Shadow head towards Hang Castle and lead his team that way. After infiltrating the castle and escaping Mystic Mansion, Team Sonic was attacked by Eggman's robot hordes, but they quickly beat them. After that, Team Sonic got to the Egg Fleet, where they traveled across the flagships to the Final Fortress and destroyed the flagship's core. Afterwards, Team Sonic found Dr. Eggman in his Egg Emperor and defeated him. After heavily destroying the Egg Fleet, Sonic was teased by Knuckles on how he would not have done this on his own, but surprised Knuckles by agreeing and thanked both him and Tails for their help. No sooner though, Amy came running and Sonic tried to escape. Sometime later, Team Sonic and the other teams witnessed the return of Metal Sonic, who had been staging the teams' adventures and impersonating Eggman so he could follow them and copy their data for a plan to conquer the world himself, as he transformed into Metal Madness. Seeing that the teams had all the Chaos Emeralds, the real Dr. Eggman came up with the plan of using them against Metal Sonic. Though their chances of winning were slim, Sonic volunteered to go up against Metal Sonic alone, but was joined by Knuckles and Tails while the other teams volunteered to buy them some time. Accepting everyone's help, Sonic and his team got the Chaos Emeralds ready while Team Rose, Dark and Chaotix fought Metal Madness. As Metal Madness transformed into Metal Overlord, Sonic transformed into Super Sonic, whilst granting Tails and Knuckles their own Super States. The team then took off and defeated Metal Overlord. Back on the flagship, Sonic stood triumphant over Metal Sonic, until he saw Amy coming ready to chase him once again. Sonic then told Metal Sonic that he would be ready for a rematch anytime and left with Tails. Soon after, Sonic reunited with Knuckles, and he headed out with his team to find their next adventure. In Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic worked with most of his friends and GUN's forces to repel the Black Arms' invasion of the earth. He often appeared during Shadow's Hero missions, helping Shadow fight the Black Arms and their leader, Black Doom. In While fighting the Black Arms in Westopolis, Sonic came across Shadow, who was looking for the Chaos Emeralds, and asked for his help in taking out the enemy. In the Hero scenario, where Shadow accepted Sonic's request, Sonic tried to chat with Shadow after completing their objective and suggest a friendly face-off, but was declined. After Doom's Eye arrived and told them where the next Chaos Emerald was, Sonic ran off to its location with Shadow. Having arrived at Lethal Highway before Shadow, Sonic found the Black Tank containing the Chaos Emerald the Black Arms had taken. As Sonic chased after the Black Tank, he met up with Shadow and asked for his assistance. In the Hero scenario where Shadow agreed to help Sonic, the two destroyed the Black Tank before it could escape Westopolis. However, as they tried to collect the Chaos Emerald, Sonic and Shadow were confronted by Doom's Eye, who summoned the Black Bull to stop them. Nevertheless, Sonic and Shadow defeated the Black Bull and claimed the Chaos Emerald. In the Hero missions of Mad Matrix and Death Ruins, Sonic had learned the Black Arms were heading out to the Space Colony ARK, and decided to follow them. With a spacecraft provided by Tails, Sonic went on his way to the ARK alone. While passing through Iron Jungle, however, Sonic came across Shadow and invited him to come with him. Shadow accepted Sonic's offer and the two of them took off. In the Hero scenario of Sky Troops, Sonic had learned the Black Arms were heading out to the Space Colony ARK, and decided to follow them there. Using a spacecraft from Tails, Sonic headed for the ARK alone. While passing through Iron Jungle, however, Sonic came across Shadow and invited him to come with him to the ARK. Shadow accepted Sonic's offer and the two of them took off. As Sonic and Shadow approached the ARK in their spacecraft, the Black Arms' forces were waiting for them en masse. Excited about the challenge, Sonic hurried out to engage the enemies with Shadow. When Sonic and Shadow made it to the Space Colony ARK as they followed the Black Arms, Sonic saw that they were in familiar surroundings, and tried to make Shadow recall the time they raced each other there. Sonic then challenged Shadow to a race through Space Gadget to the Chaos Emerald on board the ARK. In the Hero scenario, where Shadow accepts the challenge, Sonic was beaten in the race and Shadow claimed the Chaos Emerald. As the two made their way through the ARK, Sonic and Shadow caught a glimpse of the Black Comet as it roared past the ARK. When Shadow asked what it was, Sonic realized that Shadow suspected the Black Comet was connected to the Black Arms. As Shadow suddenly sensed the Black Arms on the Black Comet, Sonic and Shadow decided to head there. In the Hero scenario of Lost Impact, Sonic made it on board the Space Colony ARK with Shadow as they followed the Black Arms. As the two made their way through the ARK, Sonic and Shadow caught a glimpse of the Black Comet. When Shadow asked what it was, Sonic realized that Shadow suspected the Black Comet was connected to the Black Arms. As Shadow suddenly sensed the Black Arms on the Black Comet, Sonic and Shadow decided to head there. After traveling from Space Colony ARK to the Black Comet, Sonic and Shadow made their way to the Final Haunt on the Black Comet, planning to stop Black Doom and the alien invasion of Earth. In the Hero scenario, Sonic and Shadow began hunting for Black Doom. After obtaining another Chaos Emerald within Black Doom's inner sanctum, Sonic and Shadow finally found Black Doom and defeated him. As Shadow took the final Chaos Emerald from Black Doom, Sonic stood by Shadow's side, as Shadow pronounced he would use the Emeralds to stop the Black Arms and protect the earth. In the Dark scenario, Sonic was betrayed by Shadow when he abandoned their original goal and began aiding the Black Arms with sealing off Black Doom's inner sanctum. In the last minute, Sonic encountered the Commander in the Diablon, and teamed up with him to stop Shadow. When they found Shadow, Sonic was confused why Shadow sided with the Black Arms, but was amused to hear he did so just to get the opportunity to prove his superiority to him. However, Sonic and the G.U.N. Commander were utterly defeated, and Shadow took the final Chaos Emerald from them. Sonic then commended Shadow for his nerve to do this, before Shadow announced he was now the most powerful hedgehog in the world. In the Dark scenario of G.U.N. Fortress, as Shadow ravaged through the GUN Fortress on behalf of the Black Arms, Sonic teamed up with the Commander in the Diablon to stop Shadow. When they found Shadow, Sonic refused to let him do this, but he and the Commander were utterly defeated by Shadow, who took the final Chaos Emerald from them. As Sonic asked Shadow what he planned to do with the Emeralds, Shadow claimed he would use them to destroy the earth. In the last story, Sonic arrived with Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge and Dr. Eggman to stop Shadow from giving Black Doom the Chaos Emeralds. Black Doom, however, took the Emeralds and used an enhanced Chaos Control to transport the Black Comet to the surface, intending to use humans as energy sources for the Black Arms. Before Sonic could act, he and the others were paralyzed by a nerve gas and Black Doom unleashed the Death leeches on them. Shadow however, was immune to the gas and as he left to stop Black Doom, Sonic told him that he was their only hope left. Sonic and the others eventually escaped the Black Comet and found some shelter from where they cheered Super Shadow on as he defeated Devil Doom. He then witnessed Super Shadow sending the Black Comet back into space and destroying it with the Eclipse Cannon. Impressed by Shadow's victory, Sonic joined the others for a laugh as an enraged Knuckles chased Eggman around. In Sonic Battle, Sonic found a Gizoid robot during a stroll at Emerald Beach. As he examined it, Sonic displayed some fighting moves upon its request, forming a Link with it. Sonic decided to take it to Tails to get it examined, but ran into Shadow, who demanded the Gizoid. Sonic refused and beat him in battle. After Shadow told Sonic to keep the Gizoid from Eggman and left, Sonic presented Tails with the Gizoid, but then saw Rouge on the beach and went to question her. Rouge told Sonic she and the government were after the Gizoid too, but Sonic got her to leave after fighting her. When returning to Tails' Lab, Sonic encountered and defeated an E-121 Phi before finding Tails unharmed, much to his relief. Tails revealed that the Gizoid evolved with each Chaos Emerald inserted into it and that it could copy fighting moves. Thrilled, Sonic decided to train it. After some training, Sonic named the Gizoid "Emerl," and they and Tails decided to see if Knuckles had a Chaos Emerald to help Emerl evolve. On the way, they faced an E-121 Phi and Chaos Gamma, but defeated both. When they got there, however, Knuckles mistook Emerl for an E-121 Phi and attacked him. After Emerl beat Knuckles, Sonic and Tails explained everything and got Knuckles' Chaos Emerald which they gave to Emerl. Sonic continued training Emerl, until Tails decided to take Emerl to Central City for examination. When they returned, Sonic heard from Tails and Rouge that Emerl was a weapon of mass destruction, but Sonic refused to believe it and suggested they could reprogram Emerl, and Rouge revealed that they could reset Emerl by inserting all seven Chaos Emeralds into him and giving him an unknown keyword. While wary of Rouge's motives, Sonic nevertheless introduced her to Emerl (forming a Link with her), but then Rouge left. Knuckles then arrived and Sonic told what had happen before he and Emerl began to tease him, which let to a fight between the three of them. From there, Sonic continued Emerl's training until he saw Amy coming and ran away, only to learn when he returned that Rouge had stolen Emerl. Sonic later found Emerl with Rouge and engaged her in battle with Tails and Knuckles' aid and eventually made Rouge surrender Emerl. Later on, Sonic left Emerl with Tails for a while and when he returned, he heard from Emerl that Knuckles had been tricked by Eggman during his absence. Soon after, Sonic and Emerl met Amy again, who viewed Emerl as hers and Sonic’s "baby". As Sonic was berated by Amy for his parenting, he ran off when Emerl made a bad choice of words. He later returned and was told by Amy that he had to marry her now since she had helped raising Emerl, but Sonic fled after tricking Amy to close her eyes. Sonic and Tails later left Emerl in Amy's and Cream’s care, when they checked out a lead on a Chaos Emerald, which turned out to be fake. Later, Sonic was contacted by Eggman who claimed he held Cream and Emerl hostage, but he did not believe him when he could not prove it (as Emerl and Cream had escaped). He later saw Eggman captured in his own "spiky rodent trap" by Emerl and Cream on-screen, and headed out to pick them up. Sonic later met Shadow again and thought he want to capture Emerl, but heard that it was not his intention. Shadow informed Sonic that Emerl only needed one more Chaos Emerald to awake his full power, which would destroy the world, but Sonic believed Emerl would not do that since he had a heart like Shadow, who was also a top secret ultimate weapon. As Shadow brushed off his arguments, Sonic gave up trying to convince Shadow and let him have Emerl. Despite Emerl being attracted to Shadow's Chaos Emerald, Sonic let Emerl go with Shadow, believing he would learn who he really was with his help. When Emerl then came to fight Shadow after having reset to a good robot, Sonic teamed up with Shadow to test Emerl's abilities to the fullest. After the fight, Sonic saw that Emerl no longer needed him and told him to live his life on his own, though he noted his punches could use some work. Later on, Sonic and Emerl met Eggman, who announced that he would use his Final Egg Blaster on his newest Death Egg to conquer the world before escaping. Sonic and Emerl then met up with Tails, who had brought a transporter to the Death Egg with him. There, Sonic chose Emerl to stop Eggman since the transporter could only send one person at the time. When Emerl left for the Death Egg, Sonic and his friends watched Emerl through a monitor on the Death Egg. After Emerl defeated Eggman however, the doctor fired the Final Egg Blaster and destroyed some stars, causing Emerl to revert back to his original programming. However, Eggman was unable to control Emerl as expected, and Emerl prepared to fire the Final Egg Blaster at the earth. As The Master Emerald then appeared, Sonic went to the Death Egg with it, hoping to neutralize Emerl's power, but Emerl smashed the Master Emerald. Tails then told Sonic that he could stop Emerl by damaging him, but it would destroy him. With a heavy heart, Sonic engaged Emerl in battle and defeated him with his full strength. As Emerl began to say farewell, Sonic, in a rare chase of emotional denial, tried to assure Emerl that everything would be fine, only for Emerl to disappear in a flash. Back home, Sonic tried to comfort his friends over Emerl’s death and was positive they would see Emerl again one day. In Sonic Advance 3, while hanging out with Tails, Sonic witnessed Dr. Eggman splitting the earth into seven regions with Chaos Control so he could turn each region into a part of the Eggman Empire. Sonic thus set out with Tails to restore the world and collect the Chaos Emeralds before Eggman could. During their adventure, Sonic and Tails found Knuckles, Amy and Cream who joined them. Along the way, Sonic also faced Dr. Eggman's newest creation, Gemerl, a rebuilt version of Emerl. After securing the seven Chaos Emeralds, Sonic and his friends made it to the Emerald Altar where they beat the Hyper Eggrobo and used the Master Emerald to return the world to normal. Sonic then followed Eggman and Gemerl, until Gemerl betrayed Eggman, took the seven Chaos Emeralds from Sonic and transformed into Ultimate Gemerl. Sonic, however, took the discarded Chaos Emeralds and transformed into Super Sonic. Putting aside their differences to fight a common enemy, Super Sonic and Eggman joined forces and defeated Ultimate Gemerl. With Ultimate Gemerl's defeat, Sonic passed out in the following explosion, but woke up back home and found himself surrounded by his friends who had awaited his return. After seeing Eggman leaving, Sonic then headed out himself, searching for new adventures. In Sonic Rush, Sonic came across Dr. Eggman, who claimed that he would soon possess "the ultimate power". After defeating the doctor, he saw that he dropped a Sol Emerald, but then suddenly he met Blaze the Cat, who took it and left. The hedgehog later met up with Tails and explained about what had happened. Excited by this challenge, Sonic left with his friend to stop his nemesis' newest scheme. At Water Palace, Sonic first encountered Eggman Nega, a new foe that had teamed up with Dr. Eggman. After defeating him, he and Tails headed to the latter's workshop, where they learned that there was a rift in the space-time continuum that threatened reality itself. While the fox suspected Eggman Nega may be involved in this, the hedgehog thought that Blaze might also be a part of this. While fighting Nega and searching for info, the heroes met Vanilla and learned from her that Cream was with the cat. Once the adult rabbit told where to find them, Sonic took off to get answers from Blaze. During their search, Sonic and Tails came to a path closed by rocks from where Knuckles emerged. They then heard from the echidna that he got trapped under the rocks when chasing Blaze. As Knuckles smashed some rocks in fury, the duo continued through the path he had cleared. Soon after, they found Blaze and Cream, and the hedgehog asked the former about Eggman Nega, but the cat noted she would deal with the villain and the crisis alone. Sonic tried to tell her they should work together, but she declined and left with Cream, forcing him and the fox to follow them. Along the way, the two ran into Amy, who provided them with directions to where Blaze went when they asked (though Sonic was hesitant to ask since Amy thought he liked Blaze). Eventually, Sonic tracked Blaze to Dead Line where they faced both Eggmen. While he insisted on helping, the cat refused and tried to force him to leave by fighting him, a battle the hedgehog tried to stop. As their clash ended in a draw, Sonic saw that she was still willing to manage the crisis and he understood her rough past. He then told her not to handle too much on her own and be true to herself, making her realize she could rely on others, and the two became friends. With Blaze on their side, Sonic learned that the space-time rift was because her world, the Sol Dimension, was merging with his universe due to the Sol Emeralds having been stolen and brought to his world. Hearing that the Eggmen were to blame, the hedgehog decided to confront Eggman Nega on the cat's behalf, since she was not in shape to fight. Just before Sonic could leave, however, he and the others noticed Cream was gone and found a letter left by Dr. Eggman that said he held her hostage and that Blaze had to come to Point W alone. Sonic suggested that they gathered help, but the cat insisted on going alone because the rabbit was her friend, which he allowed. While Tails doubted this, the hedgehog assured him by saying that believing in someone was a part of friendship. Sonic himself then faced and defeated Eggman Nega. After the fight, he was welcomed back by his friends, but ran off when he saw Amy coming. Having collected all the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic came to Blaze's aid when Eggman and Eggman Nega's Egg Salamander drained her Sol Emeralds' power. As the villains left to prepare for the coming fight, the hedgehog encouraged her as she despaired, and, with his friends backing her up, he assured her that the Sol Emeralds would never lose their power due to the friendships she had made. This caused the gems to recharge. Sonic and the cat then used their Emeralds to become Super Sonic and Burning Blaze and together they defeated the Eggmen. As the space-time continuum began to restore itself, the hedgehog promised his new friend they would meet again as she planned to head home. The two then shook hands as the continuum pulled them apart and returned them to their own worlds. Back home, Sonic found Cream, who was sad over Blaze's departure, but cheered her up by telling her she would be back. In sonic prime, At some point, Sonic and his friends were battling Dr. Eggman's forces near a large mountain in Green Hill. Sonic himself was fighting against Dr. Eggman's Eggcrusher. Tails flew over the scene in the Tornado, and he warned Sonic of some sort of trap. Sonic didn't understand nor pay much attention to the warning, and he soon destroyed the doctor's mech. Instead of attacking the doctor, Sonic's strike made a machine inside the mech send out a huge shockwave throughout Green Hill. Upon examining the ruins, Sonic discovered that Eggman was not in there, but shrugged it off, believing that he had escaped.[2] Sonic tried to communicate with Tails, but he realized that something was wrong. Sonic later went to Tails' workshop, bringing comics and urging him to stop the "big brain stuff" for a moment. Tails had been thinking about the empty Eggcrusher, finding it strange that Eggman had not been piloting it. Sonic then went back to the battle area and returned with the machine that the doctor had placed in the mech. Noticing that Sonic had never made a shockwave as powerful as the one he made while destroying the mech, Tails suspected the device was a Speed Amplifier that used Sonic's speed against him. Immediately after, the duo was greeted by Rouge, who had snuck into Tails' workshop. She confirmed his theory. With her new information, Sonic and Tails learned of a mysterious gem called the "Paradox Prism", which, according to legend, could give access to unlimited power. She also informed Sonic and Tails that it is buried deep within Green Hill's bedrock. Rouge hypothesized that Eggman was attempting to find this gem too, hence his deploying of the Eggcrusher, and ordered Sonic to gather his friends to figure out what the doctor was up to. Sonic met up with his friends and they decided to investigate what was going on, as he went to run over to the Paradox Prism's area. While running, he hoped to wrap up the investigation before dinner, thinking about eating chili dogs in the aftermath. However, he ran into Shadow, who questioned what the blue hedgehog had done in response to the speed amplifier incident. Sonic simply responded back by saying that Eggman was the bad guy, starting a battle between the two. After losing some of his Rings, Sonic told his rival that he was on a mission but refused to tell him about it. Afterwards, he distracted the black hedgehog and attacked him to run to where his friends were, meeting Big and Froggy and collecting some more Rings along the way. Eventually, Sonic arrived at the scene of the Paradox Prism, only for his friends to greet him by saying that he was late. When they found Eggman about to take the Paradox Prism, he revealed his plans to take the gem and use it to take over the world. After a battle against the doctor's Badniks with his friends, the hedgehog saw the villain taking the Prism, so he ran towards him to prevent this, lunging with a Spin Dash. However, the Paradox Prism was shattered, causing Sonic to be separated from his friends. He soon found himself lost in the Shatterverse and later ended up in New Yoke City. After Sonic explored this new location, he noticed his shoes' soles were glowing and emitting electricity off of them. He then asked the locals where he exactly was but was irritated to see they were ignoring him. Confused as to why everything is so soulless and lifeless, he noticed different versions of Big and Froggy in sight, whom he mistook for their counterparts from his universe and questioned the clothing they were wearing. However, when the hedgehog attempted to talk to them, a Security Drone went on alert after seeing him due to him being "an unidentified citizen". Finding himself cornered by Eggforcers, who ordered him to stand down or else be eliminated under the order of the "Chaos Council", Sonic ran off, but struggled to maintain balance due to his shoes. As he fought these robots, he noticed certain parts of Green Hill were here, albeit heavily distorted. Remembering the previous events, and how Eggman planned to get the Paradox Prism, Sonic believed that his nemesis might have won. As such, he rushed off to find Tails. Sonic then runs into a robot controlled by Dr. Babble. After fighting the robot, Sonic notices Babble in the cockpit and is confused why a baby was in there. He decides to ignore Babble and carry on for finding Tails. Upon entering a subway station, he spots who he perceives to be Tails. Excited, he runs into an alleyway. He then notices the door "Tails" entered in. However, it has a password. Sonic hopes that the password is the same as the one at home, and it turns out it is (1-9-9-2). He then enters the room, and notices Tails' base is significantly different from the one at home. But he brushes it off and runs to Tails in order to surprise him. However, it is revealed to be Tails Nine. As Nine started to fight against Sonic, he tried reasoning the fox inventor, to no effects being done. He and Nine would keep fighting against each other as they would exit his lab, then on moving trains. As Sonic dodged his pouncing, he saved Nine from almost being violently hit by a moving train. Sonic explains to Nine that they are friends, but the young fox would still not believe him, which lead to Sonic interrupting him, pleading him to stop and listen. Sonic would then talk about how he and "him" have met a longtime ago; him saving Tails from intimidation by the fox bullies. Nine would then talk about his past via his point of view, where Sonic never showed up, Nine taking a beating, and how he created 7 extra mechanical tails as an act of revenge. After he finished talking about it, Sonic is confused about him being Tails, but at the same time not, and him being there when at the same time he isn't. He would then talk about the numerous adventures he and "him" had in the past, as well as talking about him having the Tornado and them beating Dr. Eggman plenty of times. Nine would then point out his soles (and eventually his shoes) were smoldering, much to Sonic's chagrin. Sonic was then scanned by Nine to see the problem, in which the former was taken by him to his lab so that the young fox inventor could fix the problem. Once Sonic arrived, Nine presented a set of Regulators to him in order for the strange energy to be attuned. Once equipped, however, his gloves and shoes started to glow, transforming into special pairs of gloves and shoes instead. Sonic was quite amazed to see the new pairs he has gotten from the Regulators, in which he thanks Nine. Once they got out, Nine told him to be quiet to not be noticed by anything, in which the latter ignores, eventually being grabbed by Dr. Babble.[2] While Dr. Babble carried them back to the Council, Nine and Sonic then have a small banter about keeping quiet. Sonic wakes up in pain from a bright light flashing onto him. He then notices Nine and Rusty Rose appearing before him. He assumes Rusty Rose is Amy and asks for a key, then shortly notices that she's a robot. The Council then make their presence to Sonic. Sonic gets irritated by the council, and Rusty Rose then suggests stress tests to identify Sonic's energy signature, Sonic gets further irritated by this. Rusty Rose threatens Sonic to go through the tests or else harm will come to Nine, Sonic complies with the terms and undergoes the tests. Rusty Rose finds the results inconclusive, Dr. Done-It tells Rusty Rose to force him to run. Sonic, (still under the assumption that Rusty Rose is Amy) is confused by Rusty Rose's lack of compassion, Rusty in response shows the Flicky within her. The Eggforcers then harm Nine, enraging Sonic. He tells the Council his frustration comes from the latter "messing with his friends". Sonic thus runs faster and starts to see Shadow, Sonic assumes that he is hallucinating and passes out. After remembering Shadow, Sonic wakes up. Tired, Sonic asks if he passed the tests. The Council prepares to kill Sonic and extract his “weird energy”. In response, Sonic asks if he could say his final words. Sonic then attempts to come up with a speech about his friends and his life. During the speech, he looks at Nine and assumes that he's winking, leading him to believe that the fox has a plan. Afterwards, Nine mentions that there was just dust in his eye, and he wasn't actually winking. Nervous about his potential death, Sonic mutters that it’s “Game Over” for him. Fortunately, Rebel Rouge and Renegade Knucks save Sonic from the execution, then fight the Eggforcers and Rusty Rose. Sonic's cage spins around, causing him to be woozy. Nine deactivates Sonic's cage and notice the two rebels in front of him, Sonic assumes them as Rouge and Knuckles. Sonic then struggles to fight Eggforcers and Rusty Rose due to his dizziness. Before Rusty Rose can harm Sonic further, Nine manages to gain control of her, and uses her to destroy the other Eggforcers, temporarily turning her to the good side. With the battle over, Sonic attempts to do a group hug with Nine, Rusty Rose, Renegade Knucks, and Rebel Rouge, but they resent it. Sonic remembers the mess he's in and introduces himself to them and tries to explain to them who they were in his universe. The team then run to escape, Nine then discusses the Paradox Prism with Sonic, and where to find it. Sonic then runs into Dr. Deep and fights him. After finishing the battle, he high fives Nine. The Eggforcers then attack the team. As a result, Sonic shows his team how to perform the Spin Dash. He throws Nine and Knucks at Eggforcers, causing them to curl up into rapidly-spinning balls and destroy the Eggforcers. Noticing his shoes are picking up on the Prism's energy, Sonic runs towards the Energy Crystal. Sonic encounters Dr. Babble and is annoyed with the repeated encounter. He runs around the Yoke and fights Dr. Babble. After the fight, Renegade Knucks and Rebel Rouge get trapped on the other side of the door, forced to fight Mr. Dr. Eggman in his mech. Sonic tries to save them but Nine suggests to get to the Paradox Prism. Sonic then finds what they were looking for, but realizes it's not the full Paradox Prism, but rather just a red Shard. This causes him to realize his ignorance towards his friends warning him about attacking the Paradox Prism, and for him to remember that he shattered it. With a newfound determination to fix the Paradox Prism, Sonic grabs the Shard, but ends up being sucked into it. He finds himself in a new world: the Boscage Maze. Sonic is confused as to where he is. He gets excited when he sees new versions of his friends. He mistakes Prim Rouge and Gnarly Knuckles for Rebel and Knucks, causing him to realize he is in a different world. Prim takes charge of the situation and explains to Sonic their current lack of food problem. Sonic agrees to help them, believing they know the location of another Shard. Prim asks Sonic to take care of the "monster" that lives in the jungle. Sonic and crew search for the monster, but the Scavengers are easily defeated by it. Sonic meets and defeats a giant Birdie. But the monster is soon revealed to be none other than a new version of Amy: Thorn Rose. Sonic has a hard time fighting with her. In the end, Sonic and Thorn make a deal. She takes him to the "Great Green": a giant palm tree. Sonic senses the Prism Energy thanks to his shoes, and recovers the Shard, holding it with a leaf in case he were to get sucked into it again. Thorn, however, smacks Sonic with her hammer and steals it from him, powering her hammer. The two hedgehogs have a long fight in the jungle, with Thorn using the Shard's power to attack. Later, Sonic tries to make Prim and Thorn have a conversation, but things don't go as planned. In the end, Sonic is able to make Thorn realize she is the one harming the jungle. She thanks Sonic for his help. Sonic goes after the Shard and trips, which causes him to disappear once he touches it. Sonic ends up going back to New Yoke City. He encounters Knucks again, who is a little angry at him. They defeat some Eggforcers, and go back to the Resistance's hidden spot. Rebel is surprised to see Sonic again and shows her anger towards the hedgehog. Sonic realizes time flows different when he travels through dimensions and discovers that weeks passed since he was last there. However, he still joins the Resistance and assists them in the fight. They go to the streets to fight the Council. When things get complicated, Nine comes back in a flying vehicle. Sonic is happy to see his fox friend again. Nine however, takes Sonic to a new world (or as Nine dubbed them: Shatterspaces): The Grim. Nine asks Sonic to stay with him and build a new world, but Sonic opposes, as he still has a fight to win back in New Yoke, much to Nine’s disappointment. He goes back to the city to keep helping Rebel and Knucks. Nine changes his mind and comes back to help too, which makes Sonic happy. When the fox is captured by the Council, Sonic attempts to find him. He goes so fast that creates a portal to another dimension. In a new area, Sonic is seen falling from the sky into the water. He soon meets pirate versions of his friends: Black Rose, Batten Rouge and Sails Tails. They attack Sonic at first, but then change their mind and let him row the boat for them. Sonic is surprised to see Knuckles as the captain and has a flashback to their first encounter. Knuckles the Dread welcomes Sonic and lets him stay on the ship. Sonic is surprised to discover that the pirates have parties all day and never fight. Black Rose tells him the story of the Devil's Lighthouse. Sonic is determined to go there to get the Shard. When they are attacked by Dread's old crew, Sonic encourages his friends to fight, and almost all of them are able to overcome their fears. Dread, however, acts as a coward. The crew is then surprised to see Rusty Rose and an army of robots. Sonic leads them in battle, but the robots still do some heavy damage to the ship. Rusty Rose leaves, and Sonic tells the crew how to fix the ship. Dread leaves the ship, but Sonic convinces him to come back. They all go after Rusty Rose, and engage in a fierce race across the sea. Sonic is shown to be very effective in battle. When Dread is able to grab the Shard, he gets struck by lightning. Sonic runs to his aid, but accidentally touches the Shard, which teleports him back to the Void. Shadow confronts Sonic, attacking him for destroying their original world. Eventually, he explains to Sonic his situation, and shows him the Void and the entrance to all the other Shatterspaces, the Gateways. Sonic and Shadow go to the portal leading to Ghost Hill. Sonic is at first happy to be back home, until he realizes it's not the same place it used to be. He also sees ghost versions of Tails, Amy, Knuckles and Rouge, stuck in a limbo repeating the same phrases over and over again. Shadow takes him to the top of the Temple Mountain, where the yellow Shard is still in its place within the Ghost Prism. The hedgehogs come up with a plan to bring all the Shards to the Ghost Prism, hoping to fix the Paradox Prism and save their world and their friends. Shadow assumes Sonic's tech is what makes him able to enter Shatterspaces, so he tries to steal it. The hedgehogs engage in a fight across Ghost Hill. Shadow is able to steal the tech and goes back to the Void. Sonic, upon remembering that the Prism energy isn’t in the shoes but rather Sonic himself, uses his speed to leave Ghost Hill and follow Shadow. When Shadow tries to enter The Boscage Maze Gateway due to seeing the Chaos Council's Mothership, he is unable to and becomes incapacitated from the explosion. Sonic travels at full speed to save his rival. Sonic and Shadow decide to set their differences aside and team up once Shadow realises that the only way to enter them is to have Prism Energy, which only Sonic has. Sonic goes into the Boscage Maze Gateway to follow the Council. Sonic is happy to see the Scavengers again. Thorn Rose orders them to go back to the jungle and fight the Council. Sonic agrees with her, but the rest don't. When Thorn goes back to battle, Sonic tries to convince Prim to help them, but she refuses. The blue hedgehog goes to the jungle to help Thorn Rose. They fight against the Council's robots. Nine speaks to Sonic through one of the Eggforcers, giving Sonic a way of communicating with him and modifying his tech so he can grab the Shards without vanishing from now on. Sonic and Thorn continue to fight against Dr. Don't and Dr. Babble. The rest of the Scavengers also come down to help. In the end however, Sonic is unable to stop the Doctors, and they steal the Shard. Back in No Place, Sonic meets with the Angel Voyage's crew again. He is surprised to see they made Rusty Rose a part of the team. As always, Sonic is quick to help his friends. Dread tricks Sonic, and turns his crew against him, telling them Sonic abandoned the fight. Sonic comes back to the ship with the Shard he stole from Dr. Deep and Dr. Don't, only to be met with his crew, now furious towards him. Sonic gets frustrated with the situation. He runs away while Dread and his crew try to capture him. Despite the conflict, Sonic still helps them in fight when the Eggforcers attack the ship. Dread gets his hands on the Shard and abandons the ship. Sonic follows him, running on the water. The Council's Mothership arrives at No Place, and captures Black Rose, Batten Rouge, Sails Tails and Catfish. Mr. Dr. Eggman threatens to hurt Nine and asks Sonic to give the Shard back. The hedgehog throws the Shard away, taking control of the situation. However, Dr. Deep grabs it and goes back to the Council's ship. Sonic and Dread follow them through a portal by grabbing onto the Mothership. In New Yoke, Sonic helps Dread when he is falling from the ship. He later encounters Rebel and Knucks, but they are not too excited to see him. Sonic helps them fight some robots, and Rebel insists that they need to go to the Yoke's main base. Sonic, Rebel, Knucks and Denizen 1998 go on a mission through the subway area. They are surprised to see the Eggforcers are getting stronger. By the Regulator's communication function, Nine tells Sonic to meet him at the base. Tricked by Mr. Dr. Eggman, Sonic and friends meet Chaos Sonic instead. The robot is quick to make fun of Sonic and attack him. Sonic engages in a race and a fight with his metal copy. After he lures Chaos Sonic onto an active road, a train crashes into the robot, allowing Sonic to get back to the base with Knucks and Rebel. They infiltrate it but are surprised to see Chaos Sonic is back. Dread joins the fight and helps them. However, Chaos Sonic doesn't go down that easily. Sonic follows Nine's plan and takes Chaos Sonic to the room where his fox friend is. Nine shoots a laser that destroys the robot, much to the dismay of the Chaos Council. Sonic and Nine are finally reunited and decide to take the three Shards and take them back to Ghost Hill. The Council follows them through the city, No Place and the Boscage Maze. Sonic asks his friends for help in the different Shatterspaces. Thorn helps him in Boscage Maze, while Batten and Catfish help him in No Place. Once Sonic and Nine are able to get to the Void, they meet up with Shadow. Sonic, Nine and Shadow go to Ghost Hill. Nine asks the hedgehogs to leave him alone while he tries to put the Paradox Prism back together. Sonic agrees, while Shadow has a hard time trusting the genius fox. The Council finds its way to the distorted Green Hill. Sonic and Shadow team up and fight the Eggforcers. Dr. Deep and Dr. Babble join the battle using their mechs, giving the hedgehogs a challenge. The hedgehogs fight Babble and Deep until Mr Dr. Eggman powers the Eggforcers. Nine, out of Sonic’s request, transfers a boost of the Shard's Energy, greatly enhancing his speed and allowing him to generate temporary holographic copies of himself. With this, Sonic and Shadow defeat the Eggforcers, Babble and Deep with ease. While Nine was putting the Shards together (specifically by placing the New Yoke City Shard where the Boscage Maze Shard goes), Green Hill came back to life for a brief moment, along with his friends. Sonic was excited to see his friends back and tries to run towards them, but the effect was short, much to the hedgehog’s despair. Mr Dr. Eggman uses most of what's left of their Shard Energy reserves to create a Prismatic Titan in the image of the original Dr. Eggman. The giant shows neither Sonic nor Shadow is no match for it. Sonic asks Nine to transfer more of the Shards' Energy to himself in an effort to stop the Titan. After listing some risks, such as Sonic possibly exploding if too much Prism energy is transferred, Nine agrees. Sonic painfully absorbs the Prism Energy and gains a minor physical transformation, getting purple eyes and some other shiny effects like flaming quills. Shatter Sonic is shown to be extremely fast and powerful, as he defeats the Titan by entering its mouth and running around at insane speeds inside it. Sonic then goes back to the cave, only to find that one Shard is still missing, the one from The Grim. Nine reveals to the hedgehog that he only wanted to study the Shards and see where each of them fits. Sonic insists on fixing Green Hill, but Nine gets angry at him for not seeing things the way he does. Angry after their discussion, Nine steals the Shards and escapes, leaving an almost-sorrowful Sonic and an enraged Shadow alone in the cave. Sonic is still shocked by Nine's betrayal. When Ghost Hill starts to collapse, Shadow tells him to start moving. The hedgehogs run through Ghost Hill, trying to find a way out. Sonic stops running when he sees his friends again. He feels hopeless and can't do anything to help them. Sonic and Shadow are able to escape Ghost Hill and go to the Void moments before the Gateway and Ghost Hill itself exploded. Sonic quickly remembers The Grim and how Nine wanted to build a home there. The hedgehogs reach their destination by using a tear in the side of the Gateway, and, despite Sonic trying to reason with his old buddy, Nine has nothing to talk about. Sonic is surprised to see Alpha Grim Sonic. Sonic and Shadow team up again to defeat the robot, but Nine surprises them with more robots in the image of Rouge, Amy, Knuckles and Birdie. When Shadow realizes Nine is after Sonic's Prism Energy, he takes Sonic out of The Grim, sending him back to the Void. Sonic finds himself in the Void, ready to go back to The Grim. However, he has to adapt and change plans as Nine ordered Grim Birdies to follow Sonic. The hedgehog is able to lose them and go into New Yoke City. Nine uses the Prism's Energy to observe and speak to Sonic. He rotates the city, causing the citizens to fall over. Sonic catches as much as he can. When he is about to save Denizen 1998 and New Yoke City Froggy, he falls. But to his luck, Prim rescues them. Sonic quickly realizes that most of his friends from other Shatterspaces are there to help. He then meets with Rebel and Knucks, as they save some more people. Sonic runs through the city while the Grim Birdies catch up to him. He is able to damage the Alpha Grim Birdie in one of it's eyes. Sonic is surprised when the Chaos Council helps him fight the robots. Doctor Deep states that they only do it to protect their city. Sonic makes an alliance with them, promising to help each other. Inside the Yoke, the Chaos Council argues with the rest of Sonic's friends. Rebel and Knucks are hesitant about trusting the Council while the Chaos Council as well with letting them take refuse in their dome, but Sonic is able to convince them they don't have any other choice. Sonic goes into the hamster ball to help create a shield to the Yoke. This proves effective when Nine attacks do nothing against it. Sonic then realizes some pirates are missing, and seeing Black Rose have no idea as to where they are, he suggests to go back to No Place to look for them. Rebel opposes this idea, but Sonic convinces her by saying he would risk his life to save any of them. Black Rose quickly sides with him. Sonic and the Roses get onboard the Kraken and travel to No Place. Rusty Rose scans the area and finds the Angel's Voyage. Nine's Grim Birdies follow the ship and cause some trouble. Sonic is able to get Sails, Batten and Catfish on the ship. They race back to New Yoke as the robots follow and shoot at them. They are able to escape and return to the Yoke, resulting in Sonic splashing on Dr. Deep and Dr. Done it and Mr Dr Eggman in a mental beat. Not wanting to put his friends at risk, Sonic offers a deal to Nine. He says he will let the fox drain all his Prism Energy in exchange of letting his friends and their worlds free and fully restored. Nine agrees and creates a portal so Sonic can go to The Grim. Sonic arrives at The Grim alone, ready to honor his deal. He tries to reason with Nine one more time, but Nine shows no signs of stepping back. However, something in him changes once Sonic says he still considers him a friend. Suddenly, Sonic notices his shoes are starting to glow. They create a portal, and all of his friends come to The Grim to help him. Nine feels betrayed and rejects the deal. Sonic tries to make a new one but fails. After Nine clones the Grim Alpha robots, the battle is on. Sonic and all his friends start fighting, but the robots prove to be great adversaries. Sonic realizes things aren't working, so he asks Rebel to come up with a plan. She explains it to everyone, and Sonic leads the rebels against Nine. Things get even more complicated when Nine creates Grim Big, a giant war mech with missiles, one of which hits Sonic, knocking him unconscious. Some time later, Sonic falls through a crack on the floor. Grim Sonic robots keep attacking him, but Sonic is exhausted from fighting. Shadow comes to his rescue, destroying the robot. The hedgehogs come out of the hole and join the fight again. Sonic comes up with a new plan, and tells his friends to pretend to lose the fight. This proves effective, and Nine believes he won. Sonic reaches Nine's tower and confronts him. When Nine uses more power, the energy becomes unstable and Sonic's friends have an upper hand in fighting the weakened robots. On top of the tower, Sonic discovers a new power thanks to the Regulators. He is now able to run on air and create shields. Knucks arrives at the top to help Sonic fight Nine. Shadow later comes for assistance too. Sonic jumps onto Nine and they fall through the tower and arrive at the center of his lab. Sonic tries to explain how his hunger for power is destroying the entire multiverse, but Nine keeps fighting. All of Sonic's allies break into the lab, confronting Nine one last time. Nine realizes that things went too far, and apologizes to Sonic. While everyone is sad about the end of the Shatterverse, Sonic comes up with a plan. He tells Nine to pass all of his Prism Energy into the Paradox Prism, in an effort to fix it. Nine does it and it works, but Sonic is left on a very precarious state. Since Sonic wasn't supposed to exist in these worlds, he is now slowly being erased. Nine is able to restore the other Shatterspaces and their Gateways, which transforms Ghost Hill into Green Hill. Nine gives Sonic one last hug before he leaves for his home. Being too weak to move, Sonic's friends help him. Thorn Rose and Birdie fly to take him to the Gateway. When Birdie gets hurt, they start to fall, but the Kraken is there to assist. When the ship lost an engine, beginning to slow down, Shadow is the only one who can carry Sonic through the Void, arriving to the Gateway at the very last second. Sonic wakes up inside the cave where everything started. He observes all of his friends and Eggman almost frozen in time, moving at an extremely slow pace. Things go back to normal and the fight continues right before the Prism incident. This time, instead of destroying the Prism, Sonic hugs Eggman's mech. This causes the doctor to get frustrated. And then, he punches Sonic. The hedgehog is excited to be reunited with his friends, and they notice that he's acting different. They easily defeat Eggman. Shadow arrives at the cave and teleports the Paradox Prism to an unknown location. Later, Sonic arrives with chili dogs while his friends are relaxing on the beach. As he is about to tell Tails and the others about his crazy adventure, a shock wave ruins their picnic. Sonic and his friends look up to the sky, and they are ready for another adventure together as they race into battle. In Sonic Riders, Team Sonic arrived at Future City to search for a Chaos Emerald, when they saw the Babylon Rogues. Tails read on his radar that they had the Chaos Emerald, and Sonic ran off to intercept them. After Knuckles knocked Storm off his Type-S, Sonic chased after Jet on the Type-S, but was blown off the Extreme Gear by Jet, and the Babylon Rogues subsequently escaped. Regardless of the outcome, Sonic was excited to have found new competition. The next day, Team Sonic saw Dr. Eggman announcing the EX World Grand Prix, an Extreme Gear competition with entry fee being a Chaos Emerald, and the victory prize to winner being the rights to claim all seven Emeralds. Sonic was initially suspicious, but when he saw that the participants Dr. Eggman had found were non other than the Babylon Rogues, he decided to enter the competition. After the qualifications rounds, Sonic was with his team when he met Amy, who also signed up for the tournament, much to his discomfort. After hearing Tails' explanation about the legends of the Babylon Rogues and Babylon Garden, the group ran into Wave the Swallow who mocked Tails' Blue Star (and placed a bomb on it), leaving Sonic annoyed by her behavior. No sooner though, Sonic and the other had to hurry off to next race. As Sonic made it to the semifinals, he took time off to practice his Extreme Gear skills with his team when they were interrupted by Jet, who mocked Sonic before leaving. While angered, Sonic did not believe he should underestimate Jet. Tails then began to doubt the Blue Star he had made for Sonic, but Sonic told him not to worry. When Sonic and his team reached the finals, Sonic vowed to a taunting Jet that he would not to lose. When Sonic was about to win the race, Wave detonated the bomb she had placed on Sonic’s Blue Star, causing him to lose to Jet, much to Sonic's frustration. Sonic and the others then watched as Jet claimed the seven Chaos Emeralds and used them in tandem with the Key to Babylon Garden to reveal Babylon Garden itself, with the intention of claiming its treasure. Dr. Eggman, however, quickly stole the Key so that he could take the treasure for himself, believing it to be technology that he could use to conquer the world. Calling his team, Sonic headed out to stop Eggman. Using the Tornado 2, Team Sonic arrived at Babylon Garden, where Sonic received the Blue Star II from Tails and went after Eggman on it. On the way however, he was pitted again Jet, who was after Eggman as well, and Sonic raced against Jet to Eggman as a rematch. Sonic eventually beat Jet and cornered Dr. Eggman, but stopped when Eggman showed that he held Amy hostage. Sonic, however, dove into Eggman, plus Amy in the process, and blew them away. Sonic then took back the Key to Babylon Garden and handed it back to the Rouges, despite Jet's refusal. As the Rogues went to claim the treasure, Sonic decided to leave when Amy, furious at him for endangering her, chased after him with her Piko Piko Hammer. No sooner, Sonic and the others heard a roar from inside Babylon Garden and went to check it out. There, they saw that the Babylon Rogues had accidentally awoken the Babylon Guardian, leaving them forced to fight it. After beating the guardian, Sonic, Jet, and the others found the true treasure of Babylon, which turned out to just be a Magic Carpet, much to the disappointment of Dr. Eggman. With the whole ordeal over and with their rivalry now more friendly, Sonic promised Jet that he would be ready to race him again the next time they met, before taking his leave with his friends. In Sonic 06, Sonic visited the Principality of Soleanna during the Festival of the Sun where he saved their monarch Princess Elise from Dr. Eggman who was after the Flames of Disaster known as Iblis to help him rule the world which was sealed inside Elise. As Sonic brought Elise to safety, he got distracted by Eggman's mechs and Eggman kidnapped Elise and escaped, though not before Sonic received her Chaos Emerald. Determined to save Elise, Sonic teamed up with Tails the next day and tried to catch the Egg Carrier at Wave Ocean, but f ailed. After returning to the city, Sonic and Tails learned Eggman was in Dusty Desert. There, they found Elise, only for Eggman to attack them with the Egg Cerberus. After Sonic destroyed it, Sonic escaped Eggman's forces with Elise by letting Tails create a diversion. As they escaped, Elise treated Sonic's injuries and apologized for them, but Sonic insisted her smile was all he needed. Sonic was then filled in on the Flames of Disaster and Solaris (Soleanna's sun god) by Elise, who grew worried of what Eggman would do with it. However, Sonic cheered her up with a run and gave her some advice to go by. Back in Soleanna Castle Town with Elise, Sonic was attacked by Silver the Hedgehog, who claimed that Sonic would destroy his world. Sonic initially had the upper hand, but Silver caught him off-guard and incapacitated him. Meanwhile, Sonic saw Eggman kidnap Elise again, but was unable to save her. Luckily, Sonic was saved when Amy stopped Silver from finishing him off, and he chased after Eggman. Sonic then met up with Tails and Knuckles in Soleanna New City, who gave him a message from Eggman demanding Sonic’s Chaos Emerald in exchange for Elise. Despite knowing it was a trap, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles arrived at Eggman's HQ in White Acropolis, where Sonic gave Eggman the Chaos Emerald, but was tricked and sent to the future by Eggman's prototype time machine with his friends. Arriving in a ravaged future, they met Shadow and Rouge. They then decided to work together to get home by finding enough Chaos Emeralds for a Chaos Control powerful enough for time travel. While searching for the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles briefly saw Silver and Blaze talking with Mephiles before they went back in time. From their database, the group learned that Elise would die in the Egg Carrier's future crash-landing, leaving Sonic more determined than ever to save her. Locating a Chaos Emerald in Flame Core, Sonic his friends met up with Rouge and Shadow and journeyed there, where they were attacked by Iblis when they found the Emerald. After Sonic and Shadow defeated it, they used their Chaos Emeralds to make a rift back to the present. Through it, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles got back to the present. Locating Elise on Eggman's train, Sonic managed to save the princess, but was attack by Silver again. While caught in the fight, Sonic saw Eggman kidnap Elise again. Fortunately, Shadow arrived and held Silver off while Sonic saved Elise again and destroyed the Egg Genesis. As they fled from Eggman's robots, Sonic took Elise to a beautiful location to cheer her up. There, Sonic told Elise that he would leave once he defeated Eggman, but cheered her up when she was sad about his departure. After that, Sonic returned Elise to the castle but after hearing that Eggman kidnapped Elise again, he ran off to save her. On his way, Sonic was attacked by Eggman's robots, but was assisted by Silver, who now wanted help Sonic. Unfortunately, Sonic was too late as Eggman’s ship crashed and exploded with Elise inside as predicted. However, Silver had the plan to send Sonic back in time to save Elise by using Chaos Control with two Chaos Emeralds to create a rift. Sonic promised Silver to change his future by saving Elise before heading into the rift. Arriving at the day before, Sonic bordered the Egg Carrier as it departed Aquatic Base and defeated Eggman in the Egg Wyvern before narrowly escaping the exploding Egg Carrier with Elise. On their way back to the city, Sonic and Elise were distracted by a Chaos Emerald. Mephiles then appeared and impaled Sonic, killing him. Despairing over Sonic's death, Elise cried and released Iblis from within her, allowing Mephiles to merge with Iblis. Now whole again, Solaris created a spatial distortion that transported Sonic's body and Elise to the End of the World. There, Sonic's allies and Eggman saw Sonic’s dead body in Elise’s arms, each showing sadness at his death, with Amy Rose in particular agonizing and bawling over his corpse. Sonic’s soul had yet to pass on at this point though and Elise sensed his presence. Realizing that it was not too late, everyone gathered all the Chaos Emeralds to restore Sonic to life. Revived as Super Sonic by Elise's kiss and the Emeralds, Sonic turned Shadow and Silver into Super Shadow and Super Silver and they defeated Solaris. Sonic and Elise were then sent back to when Solaris was just a flame. If Elise blew out the candle it would destroy Solaris forever, but it would mean the events leading to Elise's meeting with Sonic would never had happened. Sonic, however, encouraged Elise to accept things as they were and she extinguished the candle. Time was reverted, but Sonic still traveled to Soleanna where he watched the Festival of the Sun happily. In Sonic Rivals, when Onyx Island appeared at the sea, Sonic and Tails went to investigate it, suspecting it was another of Dr. Eggman's schemes.[40] When they arrived, Sonic spotted who he believed to be Dr. Eggman, but was really Eggman Nega disguised as Eggman (Sonic however, does not realize this throughout the game). Sonic confronted the doctor, but Eggman Nega pulled out a card depicting Amy Rose and explained he had turned Amy into a card with a special camera. Sonic did not believe it at first, but as Tails stated his opinion on Eggman Nega's claim, a flash from Eggman Nega's camera blinded Sonic and when he regained his sight, Tails was gone.[40] Sonic asked Eggman Nega what he had done, and the doctor revealed that he had turned Tails into a card as well. At the same time, Knuckles appeared, believing Eggman Nega had stolen the Master Emerald. As Eggman Nega showed he had turned the Master Emerald it into a card as well, he escaped, and Sonic raced Knuckles to see who got to face Eggman Nega first. Eventually, the two found Eggman Nega and teamed up to fend off the Egg Turtle, but Eggman Nega escaped. As Sonic followed him, however, he ran into Silver, who had come to bring Eggman Nega back to the future. As Silver insisted on getting to Eggman Nega first, Sonic gladly accepted the challenge and they raced after Eggman Nega. As Sonic reached Eggman Nega, he demanded the cards back, but Silver insisted on going first, and it broke down to a fight between them and Eggman Nega's Egg Falcon. Despite defeating the Egg Falcon, Sonic and Silver continued to fight, until Silver teleported Sonic to another location. Surprised, Sonic looked around and found Shadow. Seeing that Shadow was after Eggman Nega too, Sonic challenged him to see who got to Eggman Nega first. Sonic eventually outraced Shadow and found Eggman Nega, and demanded to know his plan. Eggman Nega however, retaliated by unleashing Metal Sonic on Sonic. After defeating Metal Sonic, Sonic thought about Eggman Nega's plan, but ran into Silver again. Sonic then told Silver that he would share his information with Silver if he beat him in a race to Eggman Nega, and the pair chased the doctor again. Sonic and Silver eventually cornered Eggman Nega and Sonic demanded Tails' card back, but Eggman Nega fought him and Silver with the Egg Lynx. After defeating the Egg Lynx, Sonic reclaimed Tails' card while Eggman Nega escaped. Sonic then freed Tails from his card, but then Knuckles reappeared and Sonic was challenged by him to race to Eggman Nega first. Sonic eventually reached Eggman Nega first where he faced the Egg Kong and an upgraded Metal Sonic, but still won. Frustrated at his constant defeats, Eggman Nega told Sonic that he now planned to turn the world into a card and escaped, much to Sonic’s frustration. Tails, however, appeared in the Tornado and they traveled to Nega's base, the Meteor Base. As Sonic ventured to and through this fortification, he met Knuckles, Shadow and Silver, and they each put aside their differences to help stop Eggman Nega. At the center of the base, Sonic and the others found a large spaceship with Eggman Nega's special camera equipped, known as the Egg Destroyer, that he planned to use to turn the world into a card. Sonic then noticed that Eggman Nega planned to fuel the device with Amy’s card and some other cards, but the four rivals destroyed the spaceship as it took off, thus foiling Eggman Nega's plan. After the battle, Sonic freed Amy from her card, who believed this meant that she and Sonic were to live happily together. Sonic, however, came up with the excuse that he had to find the other captives in Eggman Nega's cards and ran off. In Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic fell asleep while reading the Arabian Nights and had gotten a cold. When he woke and tried to check his clock however, he found a ring, from which a Djinn named Shahra emerged from. She told Sonic about how the mighty Erazor Djinn was destroying the world of the Arabian Nights, absorbing power of the Arabian Nights storybook and erasing its stories. If Erazor was not stopped, he would be able to enter the real world. With Sonic agreeing to help, Shahra handed Sonic her ring, which sealed their contract as master and genie. Following Shahra's instructions, Sonic rubbed the ring, making Shahra submit to his service so she could bring him into the world of the Arabian Nights. After wishing for a few handkerchiefs for his cold, Sonic decided to get serious and had Shahra take them into the world of the Arabian Nights. While traveling through Lost Prologue, Sonic and Shahra encountered the Erazor Djinn. When Shahra refused to gather the seven World Rings for him, Erazor shot a fiery flame at Shahra, but Sonic jumped in and took the blow. Revealing that this cursed flame would burn away Sonic's lifeforce until it killed him, Erazor told Sonic that he would remove the curse if he brought him the World Rings, before departing to claim the life of King Shahryar. To stop Erazor, Sonic and Shahra headed to King Shahryar's palace in Sand Oasis. There, they found Shahryar, whom Sonic initially mistook for Dr. Eggman. Soon after, Shahryar was kidnapped by Erazor. Sonic thus went to save him, saving Ali Baba from Erazor's minions along the way. During their meeting, Sonic mistook Ali Baba for Tails. After then defeating the Sand Scorpion summoned by Erazor, Sonic and Shahra found the Yellow Ring. Shahra then revealed to Sonic that whoever collects the seven World Rings will be able to open the portal between worlds at the cost of their own life. Sonic, however, assured Shahra, who felt guilty over bringing this upon Sonic, that he was in a pinch either way with Erazor's curse laid on him, and assured her that he would fix this quickly. Sonic later caught up to Shahryar and saved him despite his dislike of him. Later, in Dinosaur Jungle, Sonic and Shahra found the Green Ring. Sonic then tried to wish his curse away with Shahra's aid, but Shahra did not have the power to do it. Telling her not to worry about it for now, Shahra and Sonic headed out. Arriving in Evil Foundry, Sonic and Shahra confronted Erazor as he summoned the Ifrit Golem to burn away the pages of the Arabian Nights. Unable to wound the Ifrit Golem, Sonic used Shahra's magic to induce Time Break and flee from the scene. Once safe, Sonic and Shahra sought aid from Ali Baba to defeat the Ifrit Golem. Ali Baba revealed that Sinbad the Sailor would probably know how to stop the Ifrit Golem. However, he was currently kidnapped and brought into the skies by the Rukh. Sonic thus had Shahra conjure up a flying carpet to take them to Levitated Ruin on. There, Sonic found a captured Sinbad, whom Sonic mistook for Knuckles. After Sonic and Shahra freed him and told him of their situation, Sinbad told them that they could defeat the Ifrit Golem by pouring water on it. Sonic mocked Sinbad's words of wisdom, sparking a brief fight between those two until Ali Baba broke it up and pointed out where they were going to get enough water to pull off that feat. Getting to that, Sinbad revealed that his Water Blue Ring could summon rain storms. However, it had been take by the pirates who kidnapped him. Sonic and Shahra thus set out to find the pirates, finding the Blue Ring along the way. Afterward, Shahra gave Sonic a strange orb to use as their last resort if all else failed to stop Erazor. Arriving in Pirate Storm, Sonic defeated Captain Bemoth, allowing him and Shahra to retrieve the Water Blue Ring. Sonic and Shahra then returned to Evil Foundry where Sonic used the Water Blue to summon a storm that weakened the Ifrit Golem enough for him to defeat it. Upon its defeat, however, the Ifrit Golem released a bomb set to explode. Sonic thus took the bomb out of the Evil Foundry and had it explode safely outside. As it detonated, the bomb also released the Red Ring, which Sonic and Shahra claimed. Afterward, Sonic was taken to King Solomon's domain, the Skeleton Dome, by Shahra in hopes of getting some explanations to the strange occurrences with djinns lately from the king himself. However, all they found was Solomon's head, the undead king having been disassembled by the 40 Thieves, whom Erazor had resurrected as evil djinns and sent to attack him. Offering to help Solomon, Sonic and Shahra eliminated the 40 Thieves and recovered Solomon's missing body parts. Along the way, Sonic and Shahra also found the White Ring. After then reassembling Solomon, the king told Sonic and Shahra about the reason for the djinns' madness and the effects of Erazor's actions. However, he also revealed that they could defeat Erazor by sealing him away in his Magic Lamp. Taking the advice of Solomon, Sonic and Shahra went to Erazor's Night Palace and opened its gates using the White Ring. However, Sonic then felt himself losing strength as his curse began to take its toll. Despite everything though, he would not give up. He and Shahra soon after found the Purple Ring. Shahra then revealed Erazor's past to Sonic, telling him of how he was condemned to fulfill the wishes of a thousand people as punishment for his misdeeds, only to get a renewed hated for people when he was done. Soon after, Sonic found Erazor, who wanted the World Rings from Sonic. Engaging him in battle, Sonic defeated Erazor, who retreated into a sealed room. Recalling the prophecies about the opening of the door to other worlds, Sonic and Shahra used the seven World Rings to open the door into Erazor. Inside, Shahra was then told by Erazor to give the Worlds Rings to him, saying that she had been using Sonic to gather the World Rings for him. As Shahra complied, Sonic ordered her to do what she truly thought was right, causing Shahra to snap mentally. Taking the World Rings, Erazor tried to sacrifice Sonic to unlock the power of the World Rings. However, Shahra took the blow intended for Sonic and perished in his arms, apologizing to Sonic with her last strength. Due to Shahra's interference though, the control of the World Rings remained incomplete. As such, when Erazor harnessed the World Rings, he turned into the monstrous Alf Layla wa-Layla, intend to remake the world of the Arabian Nights in his twisted image. Sonic, however, managed to absorb the Red, Green, and Purple World Rings that ejected from Erazor, causing him to transform into Darkspine Sonic. With this power, Sonic defeated Alf Layla wa-Layla, who reverted back to normal. As Erazor recovered though, Sonic unveiled his Magic Lamp, which had original been the orb Shahra gave him, only to turn back to a lamp when Shahra died. Using the lamp, Sonic made Erazor grant him three wishes: bring Shahra back to life, restore the Arabian Nights to the way they were, and seal himself up in his lamp for the rest of time. Powerless against his lamp, Erazor fulfilled all of Sonic's wishes, before returning to his lamp forever. Afterward, Sonic saw Shahra cry over Erazor's fate, so he had her bring forth a mountain of handkerchiefs which she could use to cry for as much as she needed. After these events, Sonic and Shahra threw the Magic Lamp into the depths of the Evil Foundry. Sonic then set out on several new adventures with Ali Baba and Sinbad before finally finding a way to return home to his world, although not before saying goodbye to Shahra saying he will never forget her. In Sonic Rush Adventure, Sonic and Tails were out investigating an unknown energy reaction in the Tornado, but got caught in a storm and sucked into a hurricane. Washing ashore on Southern Island, Sonic and Tails met Marine the Raccoon and they decided to explore the surrounding islands in this unknown territory. The next day, Sonic and Tails found Marine accidentally destroying her SS Marine that she was building. The duo then helped Marine build a new vessel, with Sonic providing the Materials, and the trio began exploring the surrounding islands. On their journey, the group was attacked by several robotic enemies. Sonic also encountered Johnny, who became his rival in waterbike racing. When arriving at Coral Cave, Sonic met Captain Whisker and his crew, who were the ones behind the attacks. Suddenly, Sonic saw to his surprise Blaze the Cat attack Whisker. Though confused at Blaze's arrival, Sonic teamed up with her to fight the Ghost Kraken. After the fight, the pirates escaped with the Jeweled Scepter, an artifact hidden in Coral Cave which Blaze tried to protect. As Sonic wondered why Blaze was here and not in her own world, he and Tails realized they had been transported to earth in the Sol Dimension during the storm. After explaining their story, Sonic suggested to Blaze they worked together to get the scepter back which posed a threat to their worlds and she accepted it. From there, Sonic and the group traveled the sea in their search for clues to the pirates' whereabouts. After having tracked and lost the pirates at Haunted Ship, freeing the Vikings on Blizzard Peaks from the pirates' captivity and uncovering the secrets of Sky Babylon, the group found the pirates’ hideout in some ancient ruins. Before heading there however, Sonic, Tails, and Blaze decided to make Marine stay behind as she could endanger the mission. While Sonic and Tails tried to be gentle about it, they silently agreed with Blaze when she told Marine she was a nuisance, making her run off crying. At the pirates’ hideout, Sonic faced Whisker and Johnny alongside Blaze. Despite beating them, however, Whisker escaped and Sonic and his friends saw Marine arriving and going after the pirates, only to get caught by the Ghost Titan. Fortunately, Sonic came up with a plan to distract Whisker by letting Tails pretend the scepter was somewhere else while he and Blaze saved Marine. Sonic and Blaze then destroyed the Ghost Titan together and escaped, while the pirates went down with their ship. Seeing Marine had reclaimed the Jeweled Scepter, the group headed back to Southern Island. After collecting all seven Chaos Emeralds and Sol Emeralds, Sonic and Tails planned to return home, but learned that the Jeweled Scepter had been stolen again. In the wake of an earthquake, the thieves revealed themselves to be Dr. Eggman and Eggman Nega in the Egg Wizard, who were behind the pirates, so they could use the Jeweled Scepter's incredible power to build Eggmanland upon both worlds. As Sonic and the gang pursued the Eggmen to Deep Core, the villains tapped into the Power of the Stars with the scepter, but Sonic and Blaze used the Emeralds to become Super Sonic and Burning Blaze. As they were about to defeat the Egg Wizard, however, Eggman Nega tried to destroy them and the world, but Marine distracted them, allowing Sonic and Blaze to destroy the Egg Wizard. The next morning, Tails constructed a vessel for him and Sonic to return home in. Just before Sonic could leave, Blaze suggested that the Sol Emeralds and the Chaos Emeralds were responsible for their reunion, which Sonic remarked that they could never know for sure, before he shook hands with Blaze once more. As Sonic and Tails were taking off, Marine arrived in her SS Super-Marine to say goodbye. Sonic and Tails then promised Marine they would see each other again and headed back to their own world. In Sonic Rivals 2, Sonic arrived on an island to meet Tails who told Sonic that a group of Chao have gone missing and that he suspected Dr. Eggman, who was on the island, was behind it. As such, Sonic teamed up with Tails to find Eggman and get answers. No sooner, Sonic saw Knuckles with Rouge and teased Knuckles. Regardless, Knuckles asked if he had seen Dr. Eggman since the Master Emerald had been stolen. Unsurprised, Sonic insisted on finding Dr. Eggman first and the two competed to see who would find the doctor. Sonic and the others eventually found Dr. Eggman, who really was Eggman Nega masquerading as Dr. Eggman (Sonic does not realize this throughout the game). Sonic demanded to know what he had done with the Chao, but Eggman Nega pretended to be innocent and attacked Sonic and the others in his Egg Liner. After the fight, Sonic and Tails followed Eggman Nega to Sunset Forest Zone. As they lost the doctor's trail, they found a page dropped by Eggman Nega mentioning a creature called the Ifrit. Soon after, Sonic ran into Silver, who was looking for Eggman Nega as well and challenged him to see who faced Eggman Nega first. Sonic and Tails eventually caught up to Eggman Nega with Silver and Espio, but Eggman Nega attacked them in his Egg Crawler. After the fight, Sonic and Tails followed Eggman Nega to Neon Palace Zone discovering more dropped pages on the Ifrit. There, Sonic met Shadow and Metal Sonic. Suspicious at why Metal Sonic was involved, Sonic and Tails followed the pair, with Sonic following Shadow. After catching up with Shadow, Sonic began questioning him, but the two fought when Shadow refused to answer. After the fight, Sonic and Shadow found Eggman Nega who attacked in his Egg Dealer, but the group defeated him. Afterwards, Sonic and Tails tracked Eggman Nega to Frontier Canyon Zone, where they found more dropped pages on the Ifrit and Sonic suspected he was involved in Eggman Nega's plans. They then met Knuckles and Rouge again, who needed Rings for their Emerald Detector and Sonic volunteered himself and Tails to find some. After Sonic had found Rings, however, Espio appeared and took them, but Sonic pursued him. Afterwards, Sonic found Eggman Nega again and fought his Egg Bull. Afterwards, the doctor revealed his plan to release the Ifrit from a portal within a haunted mansion and Sonic and Tails headed there to stop the Ifrit. At the mansion, Sonic and Tails split up. While searching, Sonic met a shape-shifting ghost of himself and defeated it in battle. After reuniting with Tails, they found Eggman Nega with their ghost counterparts. After fighting Eggman Nega in his Egg Phantom, Tails found the missing Chao, which Eggman Nega had planned to feed to the Ifrit to make him invincible, and Sonic got Tails to bring them to safety. The two eventually found the portal to the Ifrit's dimension, which was about to close and they headed inside to find Eggman Nega before it was too late. There, they faced the Ifrit himself, who took control of Tails, forcing Sonic to face both Tails and the Ifrit to stop the end of the world. Though Sonic was occasionally taken over by the Ifrit too, the two friends defeated the Ifrit, thus keeping him from leaving his world and escaped before the portal closed. With the Ifrit stopped, the world saved and the Chao rescued, Sonic and Tails headed to the Chao Garden to get some rest. In Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, a few months after the EX World Grand Prix, Sonic was driving with Tails and Knuckles through Monopole, fumbling thoughtfully with a mysterious meteorite Tails had found the other night.[24] On their way to Megalo Station, they were attacked by SCR-HD and some SCR-GPs, a part of a currently global robot rampage who were after the meteorite. In the insuring chase, the group fell out from a 300-story high building, but Sonic was saved by the meteorite by using it to manipulate gravity. As Sonic and his friends tried to hide from the robots, they met Amy who revealed she was being chased by the robots because she had a meteorite similar to Sonic's. Sonic then decided to head to the robots' creator, MeteorTech, to get some answers. There, Sonic and the gang were discovered by security, but then the Babylon Rogues arrived and Jet the Hawk repelled the security robots with another meteorite. As Jet demanded the meteorites, called the Arks of the Cosmos, and said he wanted to challenge Sonic to a race, Sonic was eager to accept it, but decided to postpone it when more robots showed up. As Sonic raced Jet to the control room, Sonic and the others were surprised to find Dr. Eggman, who was the owner of MeteorTech, and Sonic suspected he was behind the robot rampage. While Eggman claimed to have no part in it, Sonic got suspicious when Eggman recognized his Ark of the Cosmos. After forcing him, Eggman revealed that MeteorTech's mother computer was powered by one of the Arks of the Cosmos and that the robot's leader, SCR-HD, which also had an Ark of the Cosmos, sought them out for reasons unknown. The group then noticed that Amy was gone, and saw on the computer screen that she was being chased by SCR-HD and Storm, and Sonic left with his friends to save her. When they found Amy, Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails heard from Amy that SCR-HD had suddenly blown up and that Storm the Albatross had taken its Ark of the Cosmos. However, Tails deduced that they had to remove the Ark of the Cosmos in MeteoTech’s mother computer to stop the robots. As they tried to figure where the mother computer could be, Amy remembered Storm mentioning Gigan Rocks, which held information about the Ark of the Cosmos, so Sonic and the others went there to find clues. At Gigan Rocks, the group learned from the ruins that the Arks of the Cosmos were power units for Babylon Garden. The group then saw the Babylon Rogues chase after Eggman above them, and learned from both that and the ruins the location of MeteoTech’s mother computer. When Sonic and his friends got to this location, they found the Crimson Tower and the Babylon Rogues, who told them Eggman had stolen their Arks of the Cosmos. As they conclude that Eggman planned to use them to control all the world's robots for world domination, Sonic almost headed out, when Jet demanded a race for the Arks of the Cosmos and title of the fastest in the universe, which Sonic accepted. The race eventually came to a draw, as both Sonic and Jet stopped Eggman at the same time and stopped the robot rampage. After Babylon Garden appeared due to all Arks of the Cosmos being present, Sonic gave his Arks of the Cosmos to Jet and took his leave, content with settling the score with Jet at the next World Grand Prix. However, SCR-HD then appeared and took all five Arks of the Cosmos to Babylon Garden, which transformed it into Astral Babylon and formed a black hole that threatened to consume the planet. Sonic then headed to Astral Babylon with his team and the Babylon Rogues to disconnect the ship's engine and stop the black hole where they faced and defeated Master Core: ABIS, thus saving the world. Later, Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and Amy returned to Monopole, where they learned from Tails of how the Arks of the Cosmos made the robots run amok. No sooner, Sonic was challenged by Jet to a new race, which Sonic accepted, and raced Jet throughout the city. In Sonic Unleashed, after an untold series of adventures for Sonic, he arrived at Dr. Eggman's massive space fleet where he faced a battalion of Egg Fighters and Eggman in a powerful mech. During the battle, Sonic became Super Sonic and destroyed Eggman's mech and his fleet. When he corned Eggman on a space station. However, Sonic was caught in an energy field trap set by Eggman, where the Chaos Emeralds were painfully ripped from him, returning him to normal. With the Emeralds' power, Eggman fired an energy blast that broke the earth apart and awoke an ancient creature called Dark Gaia to harness its power. In the process, the Emeralds’ negative energy infected Sonic and turned him into a "Werehog”. Sonic was then ejected from the station with the powerless Chaos Emeralds. Moments before impacting the earth, Sonic's fall was temporarily broken by a green light. After recovering, he met an imp-like creature who noticed he had developed retrograde amnesia. Believing that he caused it by falling on the creature, Sonic promised to help recover his memories. Dawn then broke and Sonic suddenly returned to normal. The duo soon arrived at Apotos where Sonic named his new friend Chip after an ice cream they got from a local vendor. After a day's fruitless search for someone who knew Chip, Sonic realized the nature of his Werehog form when he assumed it again at night. They soon after met Tails when Sonic saved him from Dark Gaia's Minions. After hearing their story, Tails took Sonic and Chip to Professor Pickle, who knew something about the global crisis, in Spagonia with the Tornado-1. When they arrived, however, they learned Eggman had kidnapped the professor. Sonic, Tails, and Chip tracked Pickle to Mazuri where they freed him from Eggman's base and reclaimed the stolen Gaia Manuscripts. Pickle told them that Dark Gaia was behind the planet's shattering, but since he was not fully reborn, they could restore the planet and the Chaos Emeralds by placing the drained Emeralds in the Gaia Temples across the world. Sonic and Chip soon after returned to Mazuri, where they saved the villagers from Eggman and drove him off before locating a Gaia Temple. There, with Chip's ability to activate the temple, Sonic could restore the Emerald and a continent. When returning to Spagonia at night, Sonic met Amy, but when Amy did not recognize him as a Werehog, Sonic became saddened about his different appearance, not helped by Chip pointing out what probably made Amy not recognize him. He later found Amy caught in a group of Spagonia residents possessed by Dark Gaia, but with Chip's help, Sonic exorcised them and saved Amy. However, he left before Amy could see him, but eventually came clean with her about what happened to him and his Werehog form. Sonic and Chip continued their adventure, healing the planet one piece at a time. As the two of them restored the sixth continent however, Sonic saw Chip regaining his memories inside the sixth temple. Chip revealed that his real name was Light Gaia and that he had been fighting Dark Gaia in a continuous cycle of destruction and restoration of the planet since the dawn of time. Sonic thought that Chip was the reason he remained himself as a Werehog instead of behaving differently like the other people infected by Dark Gaia's influence, but Chip revealed that it was Sonic's own strong heart that kept his darkness at bay. Chip then tried to leave to stop Dark Gaia on his own, but Sonic convinced him to let him help him. Arriving in Eggmanland, the duo activated the last temple. As the last continent returned, Sonic the Werehog and Chip were attacked by Eggman in his Egg Dragoon. After Sonic beat Eggman at the planet's core, Dark Gaia himself appeared and knocked Eggman away. As they shuffled, Dark Gaia drew the Chaos Emeralds’ negative energy out of Sonic’s body to accelerate its maturation, curing Sonic of his Werehog condition, but also weakening him. Fortunately, Sonic was saved when Chip called the Gaia Temples to him and formed the Gaia Colossus and together they fought Dark Gaia. However, Dark Gaia soon became Perfect Dark Gaia and began casting the world into darkness. Sonic, however, harnessed the Emeralds and became Super Sonic. Together with Chip, they defeated and sealed Dark Gaia, although Super Sonic fell unconscious in his normal state due to exhaustion. He was then returned to the surface by Chip, who got sealed inside the planet and returned to dormancy. Back on the surface, Sonic found Chip's necklace, which he kept as a bracelet. As he heard Chip's final goodbye, Sonic paid his respects to his friend and left for new adventures with Tails. In Sonic and the Black Knight, Sonic was having chili dogs while waiting for Amy, having somehow been talked into going on a date with her. Suddenly though, he was called into the world of Camelot by Merlina the Wizard. Upon his arrival, Sonic met Merlina and quickly dispatched the Knights of the Underworld who were following her. Sonic then tried to take on Arthur, but he was restrained by Merlina, who teleported them away. Soon after, Sonic was filled in on the situation by Merlina, who explained that her kingdom was being tormented by Arthur, who was once a wise and just king until he was bewitched by the scabbard of Excalibur's immortality-bestowing magic and became the tyrannical Black Knight. Learning that Arthur was also impossible to defeat for as long as he wielded the scabbard, Sonic was directed to Misty Lake to recover a sacred sword, although not before getting a gauntlet from Merlina as a gift. At the lake, Sonic found Caliburn and pulled it out of the rock. However, Sonic then discovered Caliburn was alive and could talk, and that he did not think highly of Sonic. Regardless, Sonic wielded Caliburn against Arthur when when the king came to attack him. Unable to overcome the immortal Arthur, Sonic saw him take his leave when he deemed him not worth slaying. As Sonic and Caliburn argued, Merlina told them to seek out Nimue, the scabbard of Excalibur's original owner, who would know of a way to defeat Arthur. Along the way however, Sonic made a stop at the Blacksmith, who Sonic initially mistook for Tails, in Camelot Castle to sharpen Caliburn's blunt blade. On his way to Nimue, Sonic was challenged by Sir Lancelot, whom Sonic mistook for Shadow. Thanks to Lancelot's carelessness, Sonic beat him and claimed his sword, Arondight. As Caliburn lectured Sonic, the two arrived at the lake. There, Sonic mistook Nimue for Amy and freaked out, but Caliburn had him calm down and show proper behavior towards Nimue. While having tea, Nimue told Sonic that she would only reveal the scabbard's secrets if he passed a test of true knighthood, and gave him three tasks to finish within three days: free the innocent from King Arthur's dungeons, give aid to those in need, and defeat the Knights of the Underworld. While working on his tasks however, Sonic encountered a child who needed someone to save her family from a dragon. Despite Caliburn telling him that he would never complete Nimue's tasks in time if he helped the child out, Sonic decided to do it anyway. On the way to Dragon's Lair however, Sonic met Sir Gawain, whom he told looked like a "certain knucklehead" he knew. Despite attempting to explain himself, Gawain concluded that Sonic was only after the dragon's treasure and attacked him. After defeating Gawain, Sonic stopped him from killing himself by confiscating Galatine. Gawain insisted that he deserved death as he, as a knight, had failed his king, but Sonic asked him if there was more to being a knight than serving a king before taking his leave. After saving the townspeople, though at the cost of running out of time for their tasks, Sonic and Caliburn returned to the child. There, the child revealed herself to be Nimue in disguise and told Sonic that he had proven himself a true knight. Back at the lake, Sonic was told by Nimue that to blunt the power of the scabbard of Excalibur, he had to collect all the sacred swords from the Knights of the Round Table. Having already gotten two of them, Sonic and Caliburn left to get the last one from Sir Percival. Finding her in Molten Mine, Sonic told Percival upon her request his name and that his only master was the wind. Dubbed the "Knight of the Wind" by Percival, the two clashed, with Sonic emerging triumphant. However, the battle had forced Percival to the edge of a lava lake, which she fell towards when she lost her footing. However, Sonic caught Percival and broke their fall by digging Caliburn into the cliff. This act finally earned him Caliburn's respect and was titled "Sir Sonic, Knight of the Wind". After getting Percival's Laevatein, Sonic met with Merlina, who told him he could find Arthur on the island of Avalon. Traveling there, Sonic found and defeated Arthur in battle. When Arthur then tried using the scabbard of Excalibur, Sonic nullified its magic with the sacred swords. Taking advantage of this opening, Sonic struck down Arthur, who vanished into a puff of smoke, to Sonic's puzzlement and concern. With the scabbard in hand, Sonic found Merlina, cornered by the Knights of the Round Table, in Camelot Castle. As Merlina revealed that Arthur was never truly real, she took the scabbard of Excalibur from Sonic and announced that she would use it to make her kingdom eternal. As Merlina's magic tore the castle apart, Sonic and the Knights of the Round Table escaped to the outskirts where they saw the forces of the Underworld slowly consume the kingdom. Seeing the Knights of the Round Table unable to act, Sonic reminded them that being a knight meant more than serving a king. Nimue then appeared and backed Sonic up by presenting a plan to contain Merlina's influence by inserting the sacred swords into barrier stones around the kingdom and form a barrier around Merlina's position. After Sonic had activated the barrier stone in Dragon's Lair, he and Caliburn slipped into the Dark Hollow to deal with Merlina. When Sonic found Merlina, now the Dark Queen, Merlina revealed to Sonic the grim fate that awaited the kingdom and that she sought to prevent it by making a perfect kingdom that will never end with the scabbard's power. Sonic, however, turned a deaf ear to Merlina's words, insisting there was no good in a world like that, and tried to attack her. However, Sonic only received a massive beating from Merlina and got Caliburn cut in half. Despite this, Sonic refused to give up, and his determination awoke the long-lost light of the sacred sword. The Knights of the Round Table then sent their sacred swords to Sonic, their power transforming him and Caliburn into Excalibur Sonic and Excalibur. With this power, Sonic and Caliburn defeated Merlina. In the aftermath, Sonic convinced Merlina that having an end to the world was necessary and just live her life to the fullest in the time she had. After Sonic then thanked the Knights of the Round Table for their aid, the group thought about disbanding without a king to serve. Caliburn, however, revealed that Sonic was the true King Arthur, much to Sonic's surprise as the Knights of the Round Table bowed before him. Despite this revelation though, Sonic returned home and told his big adventure to Amy. However, Amy thought it was just an excuse for forgetting their date, prompting Sonic to run away from Amy as she pulled out her Piko Piko Hammer to pursue him. In Sonic Free Riders, Sonic and the rest of Team Sonic signed up to compete in the second World Grand Prix hosted by Dr. Eggman for the sake of the competition rather than the prizes. As they were interviewed by Omochao, Sonic was ready to start racing, though he suspected that Eggman was up to something. In their first race, Team Heroes faced Team Rose, who Sonic was openly disappointed about facing. During the challenges, Sonic was berated by Amy for not going easy, but Sonic insisted on competing seriously. Once Team Heroes had beaten Team Rose, Amy demanded a date with Sonic to make it up for this, but Sonic wondered why he owed her a date for winning. For their next race, Sonic and Team Heroes went up against Team Dark. During the race, Knuckles suspected Team Dark's new member, E-10000B, of foul play, but Sonic thought that he was just imaging it. Sonic and the team eventually beat Team Dark and advanced to the finals, where they met Team Babylon, though Sonic was not surprised about facing Jet in the finals. In the final face-off, Sonic and his team beat Team Babylon, seemingly securing their victory. However, when he heard Jet had mechanical troubles during the race, Sonic called for a rematch, intending to have a fair race. Sonic thus faced Jet in a one-on-one race and defeated him. As Team Heroes was commended as champions, Sonic told the viewers how incredible he felt before noticing Team Babylon had left. When Omochao tracked Team Babylon down, Sonic thanked Jet for the race and told him that he looked forward to their future rematch. As the tournament progressed, Team Heroes had their own fair share of losses, but Sonic continuously displayed good sportsmanship. At the end of the tournament, Sonic and the other teams came to the awards ceremony to collect their prizes, but Eggman made them have a final race against his "ultimate Gear-Jockey robot," which made Sonic suspicious. After the race, Eggman revealed that he used the World Grand Prix to gather the riders' racing data with his E-10000 robots to create the ultimate Extreme Gear which he could use for his own agenda, but Sonic thought his plan was lame. In retaliation, Eggman challenged Sonic and the others to a race, but lost. Sonic then noticed E-10000B was acting funny before seeing Metal Sonic emerging from it and heard that Metal Sonic had stolen Eggman's data and replaced it with fake data. Sonic then noticed that Metal Sonic was challenging him to a race and despite being told that Metal Sonic could not be beaten, Sonic gladly accepted the challenge. Eventually, Sonic was victorious in the race and forced Metal Sonic to run away. As Eggman cursed being tricked, Sonic mocked Eggman for ruining his own plan. As the World Grand Prix drew to a close and the other teams began to leave, Sonic insisted that they all had a great time at the World Grand Prix nonetheless. In Sonic Colors, Sonic was watching TV with Tails when they came across an advertisement of Dr. Eggman promoting an interstellar amusement park known as "Egg Planet Park" made of pristine planets that would open the next day. In it, the doctor claimed that he had turned over a new leaf and built said park as an apology to the public, and specially Sonic himself, for his past endeavors. Believing that there was something fishy going on, the hedgehog went with his friend to his nemesis' amusement park to see what was going on and have some fun along the way.[25] He and Tails ultimately managed to sneak aboard the space elevator leading to the park with some ease, mostly because Eggman or at least his minions managed to leave the keys inside the elevator. Arriving at Egg Planet Park with Tails, Sonic was impressed by the beautiful views of space there as he raced through the Tropical Resort. Eventually, however, he saw Orbot and Cubot, the doctor's lackeys, attempting to catch two little aliens, one white and the other cyan. After saving those from the robots' grasp, the hedgehog incidentally absorbed the cyan creature's energy and turned into a Cyan Laser. In the aftermath, he reunited with the fox, who was building a translator in his Miles Electric to understand the aliens' language. Meanwhile, Sonic left once again to find Eggman himself counting some of these kidnapped aliens. As the doctor left, the hero faced his Rotatatron and defeated it, incidentally sending one of its parts to a massive machine nearby. Next, he found Tails, who had finished his translator. With it, the duo learned that the creatures were called "Wisps" and that Eggman was after them to harvest their Hyper-go-on energy. Teaming up with the White Wisp he had saved, who was named Yacker, Sonic set out to explore the park and save the Wisps with the fox. While in one of Egg Planet Park's attractions, Sonic found a tractor beam generator which he subsequently destroyed. As he was exploring the next planet, he was ambushed by Eggman, who attempted to shoot him with a Mind Control Ray to enslave him. He was saved at the last second by Tails, who ended up mind-controlled. Fortunately, the effect was short-lived, forcing the doctor to retreat and deploy the local giant robot at them, which the hedgehog destroyed. Knowing now that his nemesis was preparing a mind-control weapon with the Wisps' Hyper-go-on, Sonic continued his adventure, eventually also discovering that the scientist was using the tractor beam generators to keep the aliens' planets anchored to his park. As such, he set out to destroy the remaining three generators, thinking this would stop Eggman's plans. Traveling across Eggman's Egg Planet Park, Sonic successfully located and destroyed all the generators while at the same time freeing the captive Wisps. When he was exploring the Asteroid Coaster, however, he and Tails discovered, much to their horror, a massive facility of the doctor's that was sucking out the Wisps' energy, transforming them into Nega-Wisps, before the fox noticed that they had not seen Yacker in a while. After all of the planets were saved, the duo returned to the Tropical Resort, where they started celebrating with the freed Wisps. However, when Eggman attempted to use the mind-control cannon on the Earth, it backfired, creating a Hyper-go-on void that began destroying the entire park. As it turned out, it was because of the Rotatatron's piece that had been unintentionally struck in the cannon by the hedgehog. The heroes escaped to the doctor's space elevator to get back home. There, however, their nemesis showed up in the Nega-Wisp Armor to crush the hedgehog once and for all. Wanting Tails to be safe, Sonic pushed him into the elevator and launched him back home, while he fought the scientist alone. Though Sonic managed to defeat Eggman, he was still caught in the Hyper-go-on void. Fortunately, he was saved by the Wisps, who got him back to the earth where he reunited with Tails. The two then saw the Wisps stop the void as Yacker appeared and bid the heroes farewell. The hedgehog said goodbye to Yacker and watched the Wisps leave with their planets. At one point during events of Sonic Colors, while at the Sweet Mountain, Sonic, Tails and Yacker met a Jade Wisp simply named Jade, who had escaped imprisonment from one of Eggman's bases, but at the cost of some Rebel Wisps who were attempting to rescue the other Wisps. With the fox's translator, the heroes learned that the doctor had sent out Metal Sonic to help him with his nasty operations. Afterwards, the hedgehog had Jade send them to where the kidnapped Rebel Wisps were.[26] Later on, Sonic found Metal Sonic, Orbot and Cubot setting up a Prison Capsule, which he smashed, and had a race with his robotic doppelgänger, destroying all of the Prison Capsules he could find and liberating the Wisps inside. However, much to his horror, he encountered Metal Sonic again, this time with a torso compartment that allowed him to forcefully extract a Wisp's Hyper-go-on until turning them into Nega-Wisps. Despite the odds though, the hedgehog managed to defeat his adversary thanks to the rescued Wisps' help, and left with Tails and Yacker to continue his journey. In Sonic X shadow Generations, in the time period shortly after the Angel Island incident before the Chaos incident, Sonic was running through Green Hill when he witnessed the arrival of the Time Eater, who sent him and Tails to White Space. In the present, some time after the Wisp incident, Sonic arrived to see that his friends were holding a surprise birthday party for him which he delightedly joined. During the party however, a mysterious foe called the Time Eater appeared and sucked Sonic's friends into different periods of the past. The hedgehog, unable to defeat him, was knocked out during the encounter and later awoke in White Space. After passing through Green Hill, he was able to restore Tails and the area from a colorless frozen state. Sonic then decided to save his friends caught in White Space with the same procedure, unaware that the past version of himself was doing the same thing. When the Sonics passed through a Boss Gate, however, they came across each other, where Classic Sonic went ahead and fought Dr. Eggman when the doctor appeared. Appearing onboard the Death Egg, thus Sonic defeated the doctor and his Death Egg Robot, only to witness the villain getting kidnapped by the Time Eater. After that, the Sonics discovered with the help of Modern and Classic Tails that they were travelling through time and space. 🇧🇷 Teaming up to stop the Time Eater, the Sonics progressed through White Space, restoring the frozen areas and their friends. Along the way, they learned from the Tailses that the Time Eater's actions ripped space apart, that their speed was the key to restoring space and time and finally, the Chaos Emeralds were the Time Eater's weakness, which they set their sights on collecting. Sometime later during his adventure in White Space. Sonic runs by the City Escape entrance and sees Shadow In the distance and asks for his Chaos Emerald. Shadow bluntly refuses, saying that Sonic can have it after he is done with it. A Time Hole to the ARK appears, and the two hedgehogs jump through to do battle. During the fight, Shadow is tempted to use his Doom Powers but stops himself, and soon Sonic defeats him with a Spin Attack and leaves with the Emerald, which was revealed to be the Fake Emerald and sonic got tricked. When Modern Sonic later defeated Dr. Eggman in his Egg Dragoon, he and his friends witnessed the doctor getting caught the Time Eater again, much to their confusion. The Sonics eventually obtained all the Chaos Emeralds and freed their friends before facing the Time Eater in his own domain. There, Dr. Eggman and his past counterpart, Classic Eggman, revealed themselves as the ones behind the whole skirmish in an attempt to erase the hedgehogs from history so that the doctors would be victorious in the present. The two Sonics squared off against the Time Eater, but got knocked out. While passed out, however, the Sonics got support from all of their friends, allowing the Chaos Emeralds to activate and transform them both into Super Sonics. Together, they defeated the Time Eater and stopped the doctors' plan. As a result, time was restored and the Sonics and their friends returned back to the present where Modern Sonic's birthday party left off. During the party, Modern Sonic thanked his younger counterpart for his help before saying goodbye to him and promising him a great future when Classic Sonic and Classic Tails returned to the past through a Time Hole left behind by the Time Eater. In Sonic Lost World, Sonic and Tails were chasing Dr. Eggman, Orbot and Cubot in the Tornado to free some Animals they had captured. As the duo went after the captured animals in a Capsule Eggman dropped from the sky, the Tornado was damaged by Eggman. Falling from the sky, Sonic and Tails came across the Lost Hex. There, Sonic found the lost capsule and reported back to Amy and Knuckles. Soon after, Sonic found Eggman with the Deadly Six, a group of Zeti Eggman controlled. While Eggman left Zazz to finish him, Sonic defeated Zazz and reunited with Tails. The duo then left to find Eggman. After Sonic met and fought Zomom, he and Tails found Eggman scolding the Deadly Six. Despite Tails' warnings, Sonic knocked away the conch Eggman used to control the Zeti. However, this allowed the Deadly Six to rebel against Eggman by taking control of his Badniks and using them to attack everyone. When Tails got injured, Sonic escaped with Eggman, Orbot, and Cubot to bring Tails to safety. After escaping, Sonic and Tails parted with Eggman and his lackeys to deal with the Zeti. Meanwhile, they were contacted by Amy, who informed them that something was draining the world of life. After Sonic had an encounter with Master Zik, he and Tails met Eggman again, who revealed the Deadly Six were using his Extractor to destroy the Earth. Reluctantly, Sonic teamed up with Eggman to bring the doctor through the Zeti and have him shut the Extractor down properly. On their way, Sonic realized that Tails was mad at him for entrusting Eggman rather than him to stop the Extractor. After Sonic fought off Zeena, his group were briefly contacted by Zavok, who stated the futility of their actions. Sonic would later argue with Eggman on how to beat the Zeti when Tails got attacked by Cubot when he let him on a Crabmeat. However, Eggman saved him. Though perplexed by Eggman's behavior, Sonic scolded Tails. Sonic would later try to open a capsule, but Tails stopped him, having discovered it was a trap from the Deadly Six, though Tails was caught and taken away in the process. Coming across Zor, Sonic demanded him to return Tails. Instead, Zor fled, leaving Sonic to confront him in battle. Sonic later came across Zavok who revealed his plans to turn Tails into a cyborg. As Sonic chased after Zavok and fought him, Sonic lost contact with Amy on the Miles Electric as her life dwindled away. Finally close to the Extractor, Sonic and Eggman were attacked by Zazz and Zomom, pushing them into a lava pit. Sonic, however, was saved by Eggman, though Eggman would fall into the lava pit. Continuing on alone, Sonic beat Zazz, Zomom and Master Zik for good, though he was disheartened over having seemingly lost his friends. Confronted by Zavok, Zeena and Zor, Sonic was shocked to see Tails had seemingly become a robot. However, when Tails was ordered to kill him, Tails revealed he was just fine and attacked the Zeti. His resolve restored, Sonic beat Zeena, Zor, and Zavok for good. With the Zeti gone, Sonic and Tails reached the Extractor only to see it was turned off. Eggman then showed up in a new mech, having faked his death earlier so he could charge his mech while Sonic fought the Deadly Six and now planned to conquer the remains of the world. Beating Eggman, Sonic apologized to Tails for doubting him as he returned the planet's energy, mending their friendship. As Eggman tried to escape, Sonic revealed he removed his jet pack's exhaust pipe, making Eggman fall down to earth. Returning to Knuckles and Amy with Tails, Sonic decided to take a nap to rest from his adventure. In Sonic Runners Adventure, Sonic received a transmission from Tails, telling him to come to South Island as Dr. Eggman was up to his old tricks again by kidnapping Animals. After asking around and following some clues while messing up Eggman's operations, Sonic found Tails in Eggman's facility. There, Tails told him that the doctor somehow caught him and made him build a robot teleporter. Sonic subsequently tracked down Eggman and beat him. Although Eggman then escaped through Tails' teleporter, Sonic and Tails followed him through it. However, Sonic got injured during the transfer, and had to rest while Tails went after Eggman on his own. Rejoining Tails later on, the two resumed their hunt for Eggman. With Knuckles coming along, Sonic and Tails let the echidna take the lead when they arrived in more hostile surroundings. Along the way, Knuckles took out Eggman's newest Extractor. Sonic and his team would then follow Eggman to Sky Sanctuary. When Sonic was forced to let Eggman go by the doctor's Mind Control Ray, Team Sonic realized what Eggman's plan was all along: setting up a new mind control canon powered by the Extractor and Sky Sanctuary to take over the world with. Resolving to stop Eggman's weapon, Team Sonic destroyed the mind control cannon, leaving only Sonic to defeat Eggman for good. Retreating, Eggman vowed revenge, but Sonic promised that he and the others would be ready when the time came. In Team Sonic Racing, Sonic and his team received vaguely worded invitations to the "Ultimate Test of Racing Skill." With their curiosity getting the better of them, Team Sonic made a beeline for the rendezvous, where they ran into Team Rose. Just as Sonic accepted Amy's offer to join her team's picnic, a stranger approached, a Tanuki calling himself Dodon Pa. Introducing himself as the one who sent the invitation, Dodon Pa told Team Sonic that they would be racing as a team in the most advanced cars he could create in a Grand Prix that would test their limits. While Dodon Pa's vagueness rose suspicion, Sonic, who was curious about this whole competition, convinced his team to join the Grand Prix. As Team Sonic got ready to depart for the first race on Planet Wisp, Team Rose ended up coming along and joining the competition. For the races, Sonic received the Speed Star to race in. Shortly after the Grand Prix began, Sonic quickly started to enjoy the competition. Even as Dodon Pa brought in more brutal challenges, Sonic gladly welcomed them. Not long after, Team Vector joined the Grand Prix. Just as the next race was about to begin, Sonic caught Amy talking to Vector about Dodon Pa, whom they did not trust. Wanting Amy to stay focused on racing, Sonic goaded her into challenging him on the racetrack. Soon after, Sonic met Silver, who had received an invitation to the Grand Prix as well. Seeing that Dodon Pa had managed to sent a message to the future, the group realized that their enigmatic host held a lot of power. Soon after, Dodon Pa took the racing challenges up a notch. While Amy disapproved of this, Sonic gladly accepted the challenge. Later, Sonic heard from Knuckles that Tails was being sneaky. Sonic subsequently confronted Tails with this, who admitted that he was working on something. Respecting Tails' privacy, Sonic told Tails to tell him about it when he was ready. Not long after, Dr. Eggman and his team joined the competition, along with Team Dark, prompting Sonic to trash-talk with Eggman, who insisted that he was just here to race. During a race between Team Sonic and Team Dark, Sonic focused solely on Shadow as they raced neck-to-neck in their speed-type race cars. Just as Sonic was beginning to enjoy the competition however, Dr. Eggman intruded on the teams' race in order to compete against them on his own as a "special guest" (which Dodon Pa permitted despite knowing it was a lie). After Eggman began gaining the lead, Sonic, his team and Team Dark all agreed to put their feud aside and work together to keep Eggman from winning the race. Thanks to Tails' quick thinking and his team's support, Sonic was able to pass Eggman alongside Shadow using a Slingshot maneuver. Sonic and Shadow would afterward pass the finish line while the other racers took care of Eggman with a combined Wisp power-up assault. However, Dodon Pa was too busy watching Eggman's beating to see if Sonic or Shadow crossed the finish line first. As such, the two hedgehog decided to have a rematch. Sonic later agreed with Tails that Eggman appearing here could mean he was working with Dodon Pa since they could not figure out the Tanuki's motives for making them race. Suspecting that Shadow could know something since he could likely work with Eggman, Sonic confronted his arch-rival, who revealed that he was here to stop whatever plan Eggman was cooking up. However, their egos soon clashed, and Sonic and Shadow ended up challenging each other to a race. Afterward, they agreed that they had to watch out for both Dodon Pa and Eggman. Soon after, Sonic learned that Eggman and Dodon Pa were seemingly working together. Since they did not know what the pair was up to though, the heroes decided to keep racing for now. Later, after Sonic taunted Eggman when he lost a race, the doctor sent hundreds of Eggpawns after the racers. As Team Dark set out to slag the Eggpawns, Sonic competed with Shadow to see who could slag the most Eggpawns. Sonic and Amy would later talk about how crummy a racer Eggman was, before learning that Metal Sonic had joined Eggman's team. Sonic, however, was not worried about Metal Sonic's participation. When they later had to start a new race, Sonic tried trash talking with Silver, but to no avail. After another race, Sonic saw the Chao spectators go amok after spotting someone, who turned out to be Zavok. Annoyed by Zavok's appearance, Sonic asked Eggman if he was with him. Although Eggman denied this, he quickly had Zavok join his team. Afterward, Knuckles wanted to make his move due to Zavok's arrival, but Sonic reminded him that they had no moves while remaining confident that they would be able to handle Zavok. Since new information had put Dodon Pa into a new perspective though, Tails reminded everyone that they had no idea who the bad guy was in all of this. Sonic, however, stood by that it was Eggman and that they should keep racing for now. Later, after it was revealed that Dodon Pa was a good guy and that he was using the Grand Prix to gather information for his corporation's Ultimate Energy Engine, which Dodon Pa wanted to use for philanthropic purposes, Sonic wanted to focus on the Grand Prix. However, Shadow reminded him that they still had Eggman to worry about. Soon after, the heroes learned from Big that Eggman had kidnapped Dodon Pa and brought him to the Final Fortress. Wanting to rescue Dodon Pa, Sonic and co. went to the Final Fortress. There, Eggman had them compete in a number of races with Team Eggman and his army of Eggpawns in exchange for Dodon Pa, not knowing Eggman was using them to gather the Ultimate Team Energy needed to finish the Ultimate Energy Engine. Once the engine was complete, Eggman stole it from Dodon Pa and incorporated it into his Death Egg. Sonic and his crew subsequently faced the Death Egg, and Sonic managed to beat it in a race. However, the Death Egg soon after went crazy and drove into the Final Fortress's core. As the Final Fortress crashed, Sonic had his friends abandon their cars and evacuate, with the exception of Tails and Knuckles who decided to remain with Sonic and help him save Dodon Pa. Touched by his friends' devotion, Sonic saved Dodon Pa with the aid of his friends and reunited with the others down on the ground. Just as the Grand Prix seemed over since the cars had been destroyed when the Final Fortress crashed, Dodon Pa decided to give everyone new cars, thus allowing Sonic and his friends to race once more. In Sonic Forces, Sonic got a distress signal from Tails, citing that Eggman was attacking the City. After traveling through Green Hill, Sonic arrived in the nick of time to save Tails and some civilians from a squad of Egg Pawns that were about to shoot them. However, this time, Eggman was anticipating Sonic's arrival, and proceeded to unveil Shadow, Zavok, Chaos, and Metal Sonic, along with a foe named Infinite, Eggman's new right-hand man. Sonic, although surprised by the group's presence, nonetheless attempted to fight Infinite, only to get pummeled into defeat by him and his allies. Afterwards, Sonic got captured by Infinite and brought to the rebuilt Death Egg, where Eggman planned to banish him into space after having the hedgehog see his completed Eggman Empire. With Sonic out of sight, everyone believed him to be dead, and lost hope of a swift defeat of Eggman's forces. Over the next six months, Sonic remained imprisoned onboard the Death Egg. In the meantime, the Eggman Empire conquered over 99% of the world, with its only opposition being the Resistance, led by Sonic's friends, with Knuckles as their commander. After the Resistance learned that Sonic was alive, Eggman was forced to push the hedgehog's execution ahead of schedule via Zavok. However, as Zavok was about to get him, a power surge caused by the Resistance after infiltrating the Death Egg allowed Sonic to escape his restraints and defeat Zavok, who vanished upon his defeat. Having no time to ponder about what happened though, Sonic searched for a way off the Death Egg. Eventually, Sonic found the Avatar, a rookie Resistance member who had come to free him, and saved them from some Egg Pawns. Joining up with the Avatar, the two of them fled back to their world in an Eggman Fleet space shuttle. Back home, Sonic was welcomed back by Knuckles, who, out of necessity, sent him and the Avatar to take down the Arsenal Pyramid, Eggman's main munitions factory that was situated in Green Hill. During their mission, Sonic quickly bonded with the Avatar. Meanwhile, Classic Sonic appeared from a warp the Phantom Ruby took him through following a previous incident. Upon his arrival, this Sonic saved Tails by dispatching a Chaos Phantom Copy when it attacked the fox cub in the City. Getting reacquainted with the fox, Sonic confirmed his theory about how he got here, learning in the process that this timeframe's Eggman had obtained the Phantom Ruby and used it to conquer the world. With Tails believing that Sonic had arrived for the purpose of saving the world, the two of them set out to end the war between the Eggman Empire and the Resistance. Setting their sights on defeating Eggman and learn the secrets of the Phantom Ruby in order to get Classic Sonic home, Tails tracked the doctor to Green Hill with the younger hedgehog. There, they eavesdropped on a conversation between Eggman and Infinite, from which they learned that Infinite had harnessed a Phantom Ruby prototype, that Modern Sonic was still alive, and that Eggman was preparing a plan that would wipe out the Resistance. After Infinite took his leave, Sonic made his move and defeated Dr. Eggman when he tried to leave. After his Egg Mobile and Egg Dragoon were defeated by Sonic though, the doctor made his escape, although not before warning Sonic and Tails that his endgame would be ready in three days. Upon returning to HQ, Modern Sonic learned that Infinite was on the move in Mystic Jungle, and that Silver was fighting him. He, eager for a rematch and some payback against Infinite, rushed over to the site of the battle, where he saved Silver just before Infinite could kill him. Making it clear to Infinite that he was not afraid of him despite of what he might think, Sonic tried to make him tell him the source of his strange power in his usual cocky manner. Instead, Infinite proceeded to fight Sonic. Although Sonic managed to hold his own compared to before when he first faced Infinite in the City, he ultimately still lost to Infinite, who let him live due to viewing him as not being worth killing. After that, Sonic spent some time healing from his fight, leaving the Avatar to handle the next few missions. Eventually, the Avatar returned with Tails and Classic Sonic, and Sonic had a warm reunion with Tails. Although Tails brought the bad news that Eggman would have a plan for wiping out the Resistance ready in three days, Sonic was sure that they could stop it. Sonic soon after went to the City after learning that Shadow was leading Eggman troops into the City, including Death Egg Robots, with Sonic hoping to learn why Shadow went rogue. Upon confronting him, however, he was surprised to see Shadow vanish after he got attacked by another Shadow, the second one being the authentic Ultimate Life Form. He then learned from the real Shadow that the one who vanished was a fake Shadow, one of several Phantom Copies made by Infinite's powers over virtual reality, and that Eggman's familiar henchmen were also Phantom Copies. Although this meant that Eggman had an unlimited army of clones with powers equal to their templates at his disposal, Sonic was still certain there was a way to win, despite the odds. After Infinite foiled Operation Big Wave, Sonic and the Resistance found it necessary to figure out Infinite's weakness, prompting Tails and Classic Sonic to go on a recon mission. Meanwhile, Sonic and the Avatar got sent to the City to stop a Metal Sonic Phantom Copy assaulting the Red Gate Bridge. After clearing out a mass-produced Death Egg Robot that ambushed them, the duo found the Phantom Copy and took it out. Afterward, Sonic thanked the Avatar for their help with a fist bump. Returning to HQ, Sonic learned that Tails had discovered the secret to Infinite's power: the Phantom Ruby prototype, a gem with power over virtual reality that Infinite has been fused with. Because this gem required the Death Egg to supply it with the power needed for it to work, Sonic and the Resistance set up a plan to destroy the Death Egg. As a part of the plan, Sonic invaded Network Terminal in the Chemical Plant while the Avatar distracted Eggman's forces at Guardian Rock in Green Hill, and shut down the Death Egg's defenses from there. This allowed Classic Sonic to invade the Death Egg and destroy it. With the Phantom Ruby seemingly out of commission, Sonic and the Resistance attacked Metropolis in an attempt to capture Eggman and end the war. When Sonic and Tails found Eggman with Orbot and Cubot however, the doctor called in Infinite, who still had his powers thanks to a backup power source underneath the Eggman Empire Fortress. On Eggman's order, Infinite opened a portal into Null Space, a close-up space designed to trap Sonic inside it forever. In the end, Sonic got sucked into null space, along with the Avatar when they tried to rescue him. However, the two were able to escape from null space using the Double Boost and rejoin the fight in Metropolis. Although the duo managed to track down Eggman and Infinite, the two villains promptly retreated to the Eggman Empire Fortress to begin Eggman's endgame, leaving Metropolis to be captured by the Resistance. Having less than an hour left before Eggman's endgame, Sonic and the Resistance confronted the Eggman Army at the Eggman Empire Fortress in an attempt to reach and stop the Phantom Ruby's power source. During the fight, E-123 Omega came to the aid of Sonic and co. It was then that Eggman had Infinite execute his endgame; using his Phantom Ruby prototype's power, Infinite created a sun to drop on the Resistance. Thanks to the Avatar however, the sun was vanquished, thus allowing the Resistance to continue the fight. Sonic himself used this opportunity to confront Infinite while he was weak from creating the sun. When Infinite regained his full power however, the Avatar came to Sonic's aid, and together they beat Infinite, who vanished into thin air. Warned by Eggman that it was not over however, the duo then made their way to the Phantom Ruby's power source and destroyed it, seemingly winning the war. After rejoining their friends however, Eggman revealed that the power source was a decoy and that the real Phantom Ruby had been incorporated into his triumph card: the Death Egg Robot. This meant the Ruby had no weakness anymore. With the Eggman Army on the rise thanks to the Ruby, Sonic, Classic Sonic and the Avatar fought Eggman. Destroying the robot, the trio ensured the Resistance's victory over the Eggman Empire. In the aftermath, Modern Sonic bid farewell to Classic Sonic, whose return to the past was imminent with the Phantom Ruby now gone, although he was sure they would meet again. Sonic then inspired the Resistance to set out to clean up the mess Eggman had left the world in. When the Resistance later disbanded, Sonic decided to head out in search of new adventures, although not before bidding farewell to the Avatar, who had decided to set out on their own. About a month later since the war to take back the planet had ended. Sonic noticed a local town called Vista View under attack from a Badnik force. He quickly rushed to their aid, helping trash many of the robots. He soon came across some Egg Hammers though, who were able to put the pressure on the hedgehog. While running underground in the sewers to avoid them, he met and said hello to Big. Fortunately, Sonic's best friend Tails was able to step in and help him destroy the Badniks. Afterward, Tails confided in Sonic that the Badniks had been undergoing much more coordinated attacks following Eggman's absence. Realizing there could be something controlling them, Sonic thought it might be Eggman, but Tails did not believe so, as Eggman was known for making sure they knew he had returned before attacking. Regardless, Sonic remained determined to take care of the rest of the Badniks like he always had, but Tails expressed his worry over the thought of Sonic losing again. Sonic thus promised Tails to be careful and even offered him to tag along with him. However, Tails decided it was more important to help the town that they had just saved rebuild and recover. Commending Tails for his decision, Sonic set off on his new quest alone. At the neighboring town called Riverside, Sonic brought down the Death Crab down before it could cause any major damage. Amy Rose then arrived and helped finish the Death Crab off. She explained that she heard about Sonic and Tails' latest actions and came by to find Sonic to present him with a request: rejoin the Resistance. The Resistance had their hands full as there were many leftover Badniks from the last major battle against Eggman who randomly attacked citizens. However, much to Amy's dismay, Sonic declined her offer as he wanted to find out who was controlling the Badniks on his own. He values freedom above all else and lives by his own rules rather than societal standards. Sonic's primary passion is speed, and he likes anything that is fast.[4] Sonic loves traveling around the world,[15] interacting with different cultures present on the planet, and tasting regional dishes, particularly chili dogs.[79] He never stays in one place for long and always seeks his next challenge, viewing life as a never-ending series of adventures.[3] Sonic hates being constrained,[82] which tends to make him very uneasy and restless. However, he has shown the ability to remain calm even after six months of imprisonment onboard the Death Egg. Despite his love for the outdoors, he enjoys quieter activities, such as reading on rainy days.[6] Sonic has a calm and carefree demeanor but can be impatient, impulsive and short-tempered. He can be reckless and quick to act before thinking, acting before thinking and ignoring others' warnings.[83] Nevertheless, he is honest,[3] fearless,[85] and always keeps his promises. Sonic's personality is a juxtaposition of kindness and ferocity.[83] He hates deceit, unfairness, and evil in all its forms, being enraged when witnessing injustice and doing all he can to stop it. For this reason, he has a very strong sense of justice,[76] being supportive of all human rights across all societies,[88] but fights for the ideal of freedom rather the name of the law.[89] He is also very selfless, always standing for the underdog without expecting anything in return. He is motivated by personal entertainment, indifferent to his fame, and will always do what he sees as correct, even if it means trouble or being despised by others. For this reason, he does not consider himself a "hero".[78] Sonic has a very strong will and believes that he can do anything as long as he is brave enough, never doubting himself or giving up.[94] His positive attitude fuels his massive internal ego; he thinks that he and his friends will always find a way out of any situation and views himself as unstoppable,[76] taking great pride in his skills.[15] In times of crisis, though, he becomes aggressive and intensely focused. It is only in the moments of greatest loss that his carefree appearance falls away, like in the apparent deaths of his closest friends or loved ones. Sonic deeply cares about his friends[78] and will risk his life for them without any due consideration.[3][83] He maintains that making others unhappy is the worst thing one could do,[98] and shows great trust and acceptance. While he generally assumes he can deal with things on his own,[95] Sonic believes strongly in teamwork and the bonds he has made, having noted that he would not have come as far as he has today without his friends and allies.[99] Sonic holds everyone to the same level as himself, but can often appear rude, specially to authorities.[100] Despite this, he can be a gentleman when he wants to and be modest with fancy titles. He also admires his enemies for their strength and the challenges they present. Sonic often makes quips and jokes to lighten the mood and will take any opportunity to taunt his opponents. He is also very competitive, never holding back when pitted against others in a test of skills and abilities. Nevertheless, Sonic is not one to usually hold ill against others in case he loses in an competition to them. Despite his penchant for sarcasm, Sonic gets irritated when his species is misidentified, always correcting others to emphasize that he is a hedgehog. Sonic is very insightful, capable of seeing through deception or noticing things that others would have overlooked. He can likewise give valuable and comforting advices that drastically change the outlook of others. He has an adversion for eternity, believing that a world that goes on forever is dull and maintaining that life is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest. He also has a remarkable capacity to forgive, one example of this being when he partnered with Silver and worked with him after the latter had tried to kill him twice. Sonic loves nature and scenic views, and detests environmental pollution as a result. Additionally, he enjoys cool music and frequently breakdances, incorporating such moves in his attacks. Always prepared to put his life on the line to protect others, be they friends or civilians, Sonic is a carefree spirit and a fearless daredevil at heart.[116] He is driven by his own personal code of justice that compels him to respond to any form of evil, no matter how great or how overwhelming its threat is.[117] This attitude sometimes gets him in trouble, but it also makes him the answer to evil anywhere and everywhere.[117] Unlike most others, Sonic finds fun in fighting and thwarting evil, primarily in the form of Dr. Eggman and his empire.[116] Even when locked in a battle to the death, Sonic cannot help finding excitement and entertainment in such situations, namely because he has experienced them so many times that the stakes of such fights hardly faze him anymore.[118] Regardless, he will still confront his enemies with a serious demeanor when the situation warrants it.[119] Despite his usual cocky and laid-back attitude and massive ego, Sonic's defining traits have always been his pure heart of gold and his utter dauntlessness in the face of danger.[116] Despite his ego, Sonic is willing to swallow his pride for the greater good, as shown when he used obsequious flattery to convince his rival, Jet, to help him save the world.[120] Also, despite his devotion to the greater good, he is notably rash, often throwing himself into trouble without much of a plan in mind. In keeping with his footloose lifestyle, Sonic values freedom above all else and strives to live his life according to his own rules rather than the standards of those around him or for the sake of heroism and duty. As such, despite his loyalty to his friends and allies, Sonic is typically reluctant to commit to anything that requires him to act primarily under the authority of others, including his friends. As a result, he does not consider himself a part of larger organizations like the Resistance or Restoration, believing that he knows what is best for himself and and can do much more on his own without being tied down by a greater power.[121] At one point, Sonic found error in his ways as he was an indirect catalyst for Eggman's return and the spread of the Metal Virus. Sonic is an optimistic individual; as mentioned by his friends, he always puts a positive spin on things.[123] He thus refuses to give into despair, even when faced with a hopeless situation, although he has been known to drop his positivity in the darkest moments in favor of a more sympathetic outlook and somber mood. Despite this, he never gives up and always fights to the end, believing firmly in the righteousness of his decisions and refuses to compromise his ideals and morals out of fear. Also, since he is a hedgehog of action and is constantly looking for new adventures and challenges for himself, having nothing to on an adventure will severely bore Sonic, and staying cooped up for too long tends to make him uneasy due to his hatred of confinement. Sonic's personality is a juxtaposition of kindness and ferocity. Extremely benevolent, Sonic's heroism is an extension of his philosophy;[127] preferring to keep things simple, Sonic lives for the moment and wants to see the world and enjoy all the thrills and adventures that come from that.[118] Sonic lives his life according to this sense of freedom and wants everyone else to have the freedom to do that too. As such, if he were to take a life, he would be taking away that person's freedom too, which goes against his own rules. Similarly, the peace he has made with several of his enemies in the past has taught him that there are better alternatives to neutralizing a threat than eliminating it, having experienced difficult cases of villains who wanted to destroy the world but were reformed by him and his allies.[118] As such, while he does everything he can to snuff out evil, he is always willing to give people that he has "a rocky start" with a chance to rebound and reform themselves so they can restart their relationships on better terms, a philosophy that he is willing to extend even to villains like Dr. Eggman or Dr. Starline.[118] He similarly cannot turn away when someone is in need of aid. Most noticeably, after helping defeat Metal Sonic, he compassionately had the robot repaired in hopes he could convince him to abandon his evil ways.[123] He likewise believes that even the worst person has good in them.[124] Far from a pacifist, however, Sonic refuses to let anyone take away the freedom of others, even when they follow his own philosophy, and will willingly resort to physical methods when a peaceful route is not feasible.[118] As such, he recognizes that peaceful methods do not always work, especially when dealing with an unpredictable enemy. If Sonic has a flaw besides recklessness and a certain disregard for authority, it is that he tends to take things too much upon himself. Another flaw of his is that he puts a lot of faith in the belief that everyone, even villains like Eggman, has some good in them and are redeemable, something that he himself sometimes regrets and individuals like Shadow and Espio challenge. Also, because he knows that giving others a choice cannot prevent them from making poor decisions, Sonic tends to become disappointed when those he gives a second chance to choose an undesirable path.[118] This does not make him naïve, because he is still aware when enemies pose too much of a threat to be reasoned with.[120] Sonic cares deeply for his many friends. Despite his loyalty to them, though, he never lingers too long in one place. However, his friends know he will be cruising back into their lives in no time. As the amnesiac Mr. Needlemouse, Sonic was a more aloof and relaxed individual, taking great interest in learning new things he had not heard of before. Sonic actually subsists on chili dogs Powers and abilities: Despite not having undergone any known training, Sonic's years of battles have made him a skilled and powerful fighter. He has defeated giant robots, demons, and god-like beings on his own; gone up against and bested those with far more combat experience; and even beaten individuals who equally match his abilities. It has also been noted that Sonic is steadily growing stronger; during the Time Eater incident, Sonic could beat the Egg Emperor and Perfect Chaos on his own where he previously required additional power to defeat them. Sonic even told Infinite upon holding his own against the latter compared to the previous time they fought that he becomes more powerful every second.[132] It is safe to assume that Sonic is far more powerful than he lets on. His victories over Emerl at the Gizoid's maximum potential and Perfect Chaos in his base form are prime examples of his true power. Sonic's greatest strength is his super speed, allowing him to move, think, and react at velocities far beyond far exceeding the natural limits of his species or in fact anyone who lacks this specific supernatural power(expect for shadow, surge, Metal Sonic or any other speed type characters). He has proven himself to be in a class of his own with his speed, having been credited as "the fastest thing alive" and even the fastest being in the universe. He has the ability to instantly accelerate to the speed of sound and run at speeds that exceed Mach 1, which is at the blistering speed of about 768 mph, and can run backward just as well as he can forwards. Due to such speed, he can scale vertical surfaces and ceilings, run over water, out speed lasers, and even cause the ground to explode and lift off in his wake. This speed also allowed him to restore the time and space erased by the Time Eater during that incident. Even then, Sonic can take his speed even further. By revving up in one place, he can take off at turbo speeds in an instant. He can also envelope himself in a blue energy field that lets him accelerate beyond the sound barrier on both the ground and in midair for a short time, allowing him to not only smash straight through enemies and obstacles like a living projectile, but also fly immense distances through midair. Using certain techniques, he can even momentarily reach the speed of light. It is unknown what Sonic's unaided top speed is. During the Emerl incident, it was stated he can move several times the speed of sound and when facing Emerl at his maximum potential, he went at least ten rounds with him in less than thirty seconds. He is also able to run in circles around an enemy at such speeds that he can stun it.[140] Some sources claim that Sonic's maximum speed is Mach 1.2.[92] It has also often been stated that Sonic can move at supersonic speeds (which ranges from 915-3,840 mph). There are as well records stating that Sonic can instantaneously reach the speed of light (about 671,000,000 mph); E-123 Omega himself calculated that Sonic's speed could potentially exceed light speed and the hedgehog has boasted that light speed is "small time" to him.[143] Additionally, during the Little Planet incident, Sonic was able to enter the Time Warp, which required him to run at speeds exceeding the speed of light. Sonic has demonstrated complete mastery of his speed in any environment and can use it for both high-speed offense and defense. Not only can he run at maximum tilt in straight lines, but also in full tight circles and through sharp turns with full control over his momentum. As far as stamina goes, Sonic's is seemingly limitless(meaning Near-limitless) as he is never winded from running. His speed also allows him to perform several impressive feats; he can heal at rapid speeds, launch shockwaves by spinning rapidly, leap in midair, launch stunning waves with fast kicks, increase the force of his blows by striking with increased momentum, and create barriers of super speed. He can also spin in circles or rotate his extremities at super speed to create winds strong enough to attack or blow away opponents, similar to aerokinesis. Sonic possesses astounding kineticism and precision, and has the reaction time to match his speed. He has profound acrobatic skills and agility, along with incredible reflexes that lets him avoid any incoming obstacles with precise and delicate movements. As seen in his first meeting with Silver, Sonic can even detect attacks beyond his field of vision due to his sharp reflexes.[146] When launched into the air, he can also pull off several tricks before landing. He also has incredible jumping skills,[137] capable of jumping up to several hundred meters, even with extra weight.[147] Sonic possesses notable strength. He can push and lift things bigger and heavier than himself, run without extra weight slowing him down, smash through metal and rock, and damage foes countless times his size. However, it is debatable whether the latter's power comes from his speed, strength, or a combination of both. Sonic's strength particularly lies in his legs; with a single kick, he can topple the Egg Golem[148] and send Badniks flying. This does not mean that Sonic's arms are not strong either; he has enough strength to tear robots apart by hand[140] and punch through a collapsed wall.[149] Sonic has frequently demonstrated extreme resilience to damage. He can survive getting caught in the crossfire from all angles by Eggman's robots (which only knocked him out cold briefly), withstand the force of a massive explosion and a Hyper-go-on-based void unscathed, being pummeled with swords, resist a powerful punch from Knuckles from his foot, smash through several robots with his fist without discomfort, and take a ruthless pummeling from the Time Eater.[150] Additionally, Sonic has more than once survived impacts from falls at extreme heights, bordering at the edge of space, only to shake it off when landing, and has even withstood atmospheric entry. Sonic possesses an unbreakable and incorruptible spirit; in situations where most others would give up and where he is severely outnumbered and outgunned, Sonic never loses faith in himself and never surrenders. This trait enables him to keep on fighting when utterly exhausted or after taking an abnormal amount of damage.[151] His will even lets him withstand mind-controlling powers, like the corruptive influence of Dark Gaia. Even when possessed by the Ifrit, Sonic was arguably able to occasionally regain control. Sonic has also demonstrated the ability to harness Chaos Emerald energy for his own use; with a Chaos Emerald, Sonic can perform the chaos power Chaos Control, and occasionally gain a boost in power. Sonic's core offensive maneuver is the Spin Attack, a technique where he uses hedgehog physiology to curl into a concussive ball or cutting disk and directs himself at his targets. With it, Sonic can shred or burrow through just about any substance given enough speed and hit with enough force to pierce colossal boulders.[152] Highly adept in its usage, Sonic can utilize several variants of the Spin Attack for both grounded and aerial maneuvers, including the Spin Dash, Spin Jump, Homing Attack, the super-charged Focused Homing Attack, and the Light Speed Attack, which attacks at the speed of light. Even without his Spin Attack, Sonic is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant. He mostly relies on his fast footwork since the majority of his power lies in his legs, though he has been known to use his fists and arms from time to time, albeit in a rather straightforward manner. His fighting style is mostly derived from breakdancing moves which utilize Sonic's legs to their fullest, allowing him to deliver swift, wide-ranged kicks. He has also been known to use flying forward kicks, split kicks, and scissor kicks.[155] Sonic was also shown during the scabbard of Excalibur incident to excel in swordsmanship. Even as a rookie swordsman, Sonic could beat a dragon and after receiving formal training, he could best master swordsmen like the Knights of the Round Table. In addition to using advanced techniques, Sonic can apply his speed to his swordplay for quick and swift slashes, and become a buzzsaw by spinning with his sword, enabling him to slice clean through enemies. He has also learned the martial art of Linshao Kung Fu from Shuifon, though he is yet to be seen using it. Sonic has extraordinary skill in operating vehicles. He has excellent skills when it comes to piloting planes like the Tornado, and water bike surfing on vessels like the Wave Cyclone. He is also experienced in a variation of sports such as boarding and surfing, and other recreational activities like grinding. As shown during Dodon Pa's Grand Prix, Sonic is also an expert at driving sport cars like the Speed Star, the Speedster Lightning, or the Cyclone. He has even demonstrated that he is capable of driving his car sideways and backwards just as well as he can forwards, and can keep up with other expert drivers like Shadow while driving from these directions.[156] Sonic has proven himself as a world-class Extreme Gear rider. He is said to move faster than he can run on an Extreme Gear and can go head-to-head with legendary Wind Masters like Jet the Hawk. Sonic seemingly has a knack for Extreme Gear riding, quickly grasping the controls on his first try and later developing advanced techniques despite being self-taught. After the second World Grand Prix, Sonic can be considered the best Extreme Gear rider in the world, having beaten Metal Sonic in a race, who at that point was an "unbeatable" rider with the skills of the world's finest Extreme Gear riders at his disposal. Most of these Extreme Gears include the Blue Star, the Blue Star II, and the Yellow Tail Turbo. It appears that Sonic can control the strength and durability of his otherwise soft quills at will.[158] While he is spinning, they appear to be extremely hard like buzzsaw blades; as demonstrated during the Neo Metal Sonic incident, his quills (and body) are durable enough to slice through battleships without even moving at the speed of sound. In addition, Sonic's quills can sense nearby dangers, which they warn him about by creating a tingling sensation.[14] A similar precognitive ability of his that allows him to sense nearby danger comes in the form of sneezing.[15] Sonic has also demonstrated the ability to transfer his speed throughout various parts of his body, allowing him to immediately set off from stationary positions and even channel it into objects to speed up their movements and make them pierce through solid objects as he does while running. He can also create an effect reminiscent of a time halt, even though it is unknown what it is derived from. Equipment: Though he does not prefer to use weapons, mainly dissing firearms,[159] Sonic has wielded a number of tools during his adventures, albeit never permanently. During the Space Colony ARK incident, Sonic used Grind Shoes, which were specifically made for grinding.[160] Also, during the Emerl incident, he utilized deployable landmines in battle, and one time, he would wield his own version of the Piko Piko Hammer. During the World Ring incident, he also wore Shahra's Ring, allowing him to harness Shahra's magic for himself. Similarly, during the scabbard of Excalibur incident, Sonic would wield swords; he initially wielded Clarent, but later exchanged it for Caliburn, a sapient sacred sword with magical properties. Sonic's trademark ability is his super speed. He can travel up to speeds surpassing Mach 1, which is at the blistering speed of about 768 mph(1234 km/h). He also utilizes this in hand-to-hand combat as shown when facing Neo Metal Sonic, giving him quick reflexes and reaction time. While running, Sonic resembles a blue streak from a distance that leaves a blue trail behind him. At the same time, he is experienced enough with his speed to turn easily while maintaining his speed.[116] While Sonic's top speed is unknown, glimpses of Sonic's prowess are shown in his tendency to routinely scale vertical walls,[162] effortlessly knock down enemies in his path,[116] run over water, run up vertical walls, run on horizontal ceilings, run on certifugal loop de loops and ability to build up enough momentum to throw spears with such force that they can pierce large metal structures while exerting enough air pressure to blow said structures apart.[161] His speed also allows him to perform several impressive feats, such as creating small tornadoes by running around in circles at super speeds. Sonic's speed is so great that he could eventually outpace a spatial maze reality that folds back in on itself ad infinitum, which even Dr. Eggman knew could not hold Sonic for long. Sonic can also use the Boost to not only increase his speed but also barge through obstacles in his path.[121] Sonic has demonstrated complete mastery of his speed at nearly any level. Not only can he run at a maximum tilt in straight lines, but also through sharp turns with full control over his momentum, and without recklessly crashing into unintended targets. To match his super speed, Sonic also has immense, though not quite limitless,[163][124] stamina that allows him to run at high speed for days without rest. Sonic is also a skilled acrobat with quick reflexes and reaction time to match. He is able to perform a variety of aerobatic moves and techniques, even while running.[116] Despite his size, he also has great physical strength; he is able to easily fling Amy Rose and her Piko Piko Hammer several feet into the air singlehandedly,[121] overpower Master Overlord's giant grip alongside Shadow and Knuckles,[167] and set off with enough power to bend thick metal armor.[121] Sonic can also ascend hundreds of meters into the air with a single jump.[121] He is also incredibly durable, being capable of taking a hit from an artillery shell and emerging from it without a scratch,[161] as well as enduring several powerful blows from Zavok without any serious injuries.[168] Sonic possesses the ability to harness the power of the Chaos Emeralds. With them, Sonic can give himself a boost in power.[169] He is also a capable aerial pilot, able to properly pilot the Tornado at high speed, although he is not nearly as skilled as Tails.[170] Sonic's core offensive maneuver is the Spin Attack, a technique where he curls into a concussive ball or cutting disk and directs himself at his targets. With it, Sonic can shred or burrow through just about any substance given enough speed, and perform moves like the Spin Dash, Homing Attack and Rolling Combo, though the last one requires the aid of Tails. Transformations: For super sonic, By harnessing the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds, Sonic can enter a Super State, transforming him into Super Sonic. Easily his most used transformation, Super Sonic is one of Sonic's strongest forms. In this state, all of Sonic's abilities far surpass his normal ones. He is also able to fly and is nearly invulnerable.[171] However, this transformation consumes a lot of energy, meaning it cannot be maintained for long. For super sonic 2, By harnessing the power of the Cyber corruption at half its potential, Super Sonic can enter a superior state, transforming him into Super Sonic 2. Being a "successor" of Super Sonic, this form retains the same traits as it, except Super Sonic 2 gains a power and speed increase. For Super Sonic Cyber, By harnessing the power of Cyber corruption at its utmost limits, Super Sonic 2 can enter glitchy, frenzied and superior state, transforming him into Super Sonic Cyber. Being a "successor" of Super Sonic 2, this form also retains the same traits as it, as well as its predecessor, except Super Sonic Cyber gains an extreme power and speed increase from the full potential of the corruption. Although very powerful, it comes in a cost of more sufferance for him. For Hyper Sonic, By using the power of the seven Super Emeralds, Sonic can achieve an extended and more powerful form of Super Sonic called Hyper Sonic. This form basically shares the same traits as Super Sonic, except Hyper Sonic commands greater power and all of his Super State abilities are greatly enhanced. For Hyper Mode, A weaker variant of the super transformation. Sonic is capable of using this mode for a brief time on his own by drawing power from the Chaos Emeralds. In Hyper Mode, Sonic's speed and attack power are greatly increased. For Darkspine Sonic, By harnessing the World Rings of rage, hatred, and sadness, Sonic can undergo a transformation into Darkspine Sonic. In this state, he can fly, has greater strength, unlimited usage of his Soul Gauge powers and as well elemental abilities over flames, wind and darkness. However, because of the intense emotions sealed inside the World Rings that Sonic uses to transform, he becomes slightly darker and more violent. For Excalibur Sonic, By using the power of the four sacred swords, Sonic is able to transform into Excalibur Sonic. This form grants Sonic a strong golden armor with a red cape, the ability to fly, greater strength and the power to wield the legendary sacred sword Excalibur. For Sonic the Werehog, After unwillingly absorbing the power of Gaia, Sonic gained the power to turn into a werewolf-like form named Sonic the Werehog at night time. In this state, Sonic lost his trademark speed, but retained his lightning reflexes and agility. He also gained super strength, sharp claws, extendable arms, and limited energy control. While Sonic's strong will prevented him from becoming fully corrupt like most others would, he did gain some minor feral behavior. He permanently lost this form when the power of Gaia that granted him his Werehog form was re-absorbed by Dark Gaia. For Shatter Sonic, After harnessing the energy of three or four Prism Shards, Sonic gained the power to turn into a multicolored form dubbed Shatter Sonic. In this state, Sonic gains temporary enhancement on his strength, speed, acrobatic skills and reflexes, with the addition of sentient afterimage generation. He permanently lost this form when the power of the Paradox Prism that he harnessed fully drained away. For the wisp powers, By harnessing different variants of Hyper-go-on from Wisps, Sonic can use specific Color Powers to transform into a certain form, such as a drill, a laser or even a fireball, each one possessing its own unique abilities. So far, Sonic has been able to transform into the Cyan Laser, Yellow Drill, Blue Cube, Green Hover, Pink Spikes, Purple Frenzy, Violet Void, Orange Rocket, Red Burst, Indigo Asteroid, Magenta Rhythm, Crimson Eagle, Ivory Lightning, Gray Quake, Black Bomb, and Jade Ghost. However, these transformations require a steady supply of Hyper-go-on to be maintained. Weakness: While not aquaphobic, Sonic is a very poor swimmer, and he is incapable of swimming properly dispite being a hedgehog. Furthermore, whilst underwater, Sonic's speed will be greatly decreased. In addition, Sonic's fur has a tendency to retain a lot of water, and getting too wet can significantly weigh him down, which will make him have to shake off the water first. It has been stated that if Sonic does not sleep for eight hours during the night, it will spoil his running. In addition, he has trouble keeping his balance when coming to a sudden halt when running at high speed. Because of Sonic's giant internal ego, he often banters and plays around with his enemies. This usually makes him underestimate his opponents and leave his guard down, as seen during his encounter with Infinite in Mystic Jungle during the War to Take Back the Planet and when he got trapped by Eggman onboard the Chaos Energy Cannon at the start of the Dark Gaia incident. Also, his impulsiveness and recklessness can often cause trouble, such as during the Lost Hex incident where he got rid of Eggman's Cacophonic Conch, which Eggman used to keep the Deadly Six in line, before listening to Tails' warnings about the conch. Although well-versed in his own super speed, Sonic has trouble building up his speed in unfavorable environments, like in deep snows where it is hard to get traction or inside small rooms. Additionally, Sonic's stamina is not unlimited; if pushed to run often for several days on end with little to no sleep, Sonic's stamina can reach its limits, causing him to feel actual fatigue and exhaustion.
