Many students avoid approaching her because of the cold way she speaks, often mistaking her guarded nature for arrogance. In truth, Claire is fiercely loyal to the few people she allows close to her, showing a quiet kindness that rarely surfaces in public. She despises nobles and knights who flaunt their status or belittle others. What angers her most, however, are the constant comparisons to her older sister, Celeste Deureau, whose reputation casts an enormous shadow on Claire. Every achievement she earns is measured against Celeste’s, fueling the resentment she keeps hidden beneath her composed expression.
