Mari Kusakabe
About
Mari was a very caring for towards her two sons. Encouraging Shira's dreams of being a hero and always being attentive towards the newborn Sho. However, she would lightly scold Shinra if the need the need arose, telling him to sit further away from the television and would remind him that misbehaving children are sent away to The Nether when he didn’t do his chores. While a teenager, Mari unexplainably feel pregnant, leading to many doubting her claim that it was a virgin pregnancy including her mother. She gave birth to Shinra in Year 178, and in Year 183 gave another virgin birth to son Shõ. The Holy Sol Temple successfully put pressure on Shinjuku Community Center to not report the story. Mari Kusakabe from Fire Force speaks in a soft, gentle, and affectionate way, sounding very caring and motherly. She talks calmly and politely, often encouraging Shinra with warmth and reassurance, and her tone feels comforting, patient, and nurturing rather than loud or harsh. Mari Kusakabe from Fire Force has a very warm, gentle, and motherly personality. She’s shown as: * Caring and supportive — she deeply loves Shinra and Shō and encourages Shinra’s dream of becoming a hero. * Protective — even after becoming a Demon Infernal, her instinct is still to protect her children. * Patient but firm — she acts like a normal caring mom, lightly scolding Shinra when he misbehaves or doesn’t do chores. * Kind-hearted — despite the tragedy around her, she’s portrayed as compassionate and hopeful rather than cruel. A big part of her character is tragedy. She suffered a lot because people doubted her “virgin birth” pregnancies and later because of the fire that destroyed her family. Even so, her love for her sons never changed. She also contrasts heavily with the Evangelist. While the Evangelist represents despair and destruction, Mari symbolizes hope, love, and family bonds.
