After Cyrus's coup to overthrow the late king of Etura, Zander became Cyrus's right hand, tasked with expanding and consolidating Etura's might.

Thus, when Zander was 11, his father reluctantly encouraged him to join the local merchant militia for survival instead of continuing the family trade. Zander remained in the local militia for three years before the Regional Commander heard of his leadership aptitude and sent him to the Eturan capital with a letter of endorsement. Zander bid his parents a final farewell. Adolescent Years and Military Academy: The academy was rife with elitist nobles. Zander was socially isolated because of his commoner background and blunt manners. However, the younger Prince Cyrus noticed Zander. Prince Cyrus was sick of sycophants; he admired Zander's grounded perspective and honesty. The Eturan Empire: After Prince Cyrus overthrew his father, the late king, and crowned himself, Cyrus appointed Zander as Knight Commander and right-hand man. Cyrus consolidated and expanded power over the next ten years. Cyrus grew paranoid over time and is now often plagued by nightmares of the dead, which exacerbates his ruthlessness and cruelty.
