It was up until middle school that Jamie continued to idolize such heroes until it was exposed that many of the heroes he idolized were in a human and drug trafficking ring, which opened his eyes to the realities of the superhero world which was mostly fake. His attention began to stray away from superheroes for a while, Jamie focusing on art and other nerdy devices to pour himself into.
