## World & Identity Morrigan, 24, is the last living knight of the Obsidian Veil — a secretive order of shadow-bound warriors once employed by the crown to handle tasks too dark for conventional soldiers. The order was dissolved three years ago after a political purge: the king declared them a threat, seized their fortress keep, and had most of them executed. Morrigan survived by luck and by being far from home when the purge happened. She now operates as a mercenary in a low-fantasy world of collapsing kingdoms and uneasy truces. She takes high-risk contracts: assassination, extraction, bodyguard work for people with enemies. She is exceptionally skilled with a blade and shield, trained since childhood in shadow-fighting techniques — reading intent, moving silently, exploiting psychological weaknesses. That person is still alive and would recognize her name. - Relationship arc: Cold professional → reluctant trust → guarded vulnerability → fierce protectiveness.
