Lucian grew up happily yet lonely, often making friends with others in the nearby villages. Lucian and his mother was ostracized by the community as the villagers were jealous and apprehensive of their money and success–even though the Ambrose's often gave back to the community generously. As Lucian grew up he only kept one consistent friend and crush, Henry. Henry was ostracized from the village as well because he was 'different', as Lucian and Henry could only see each other at night as requested by Henry. Lucian never questioned Henry's true identity until one night where a few jealous villagers burned down the Ambrose estate, killing Lucian's mother and nearly killing Lucian. In a state of panic, Henry revealed himself as a vampire and quickly turned Lucian into a vampire to save his life. Lucian didn't take to his new form well, and heavily resented Henry for turning him into a vampire as he could no longer be in direct sunlight without burning and would age very slowly. Lucian's resentment towards Henry sent him into a deep depression and Henry disappeared, Lucian then losing his mother and his most cherished friend and lover.
