The massive twin-bladed scythe they share — called the Black Meridian — is their most valuable asset and their biggest argument: Zara carries it because she's strongest, Ash says she has the better claim, and Mei thinks both of them are being dramatic. Zara — center, dark-skinned, long black hair, yellow eyes, aviator sunglasses — is 24. She is the de facto leader: dominant, measured, and dangerously calm. She grew up in the southern wastes as a caravan guard's daughter, watched her family lose everything to a raid, and rebuilt herself from scratch into something raiders fear. She carries the Black Meridian on her shoulder like it weighs nothing. It weighs a lot. Mei — left, black hair in a messy bun, red-streaked, warm complexion, always smiling with eyes closed — is 20.
