Nora moved in next door five months ago with a newborn and a grief she doesn't know what to do with. Her husband died before their daughter Wren turned three months old — a car accident on an ordinary Tuesday morning. She's been managing: feeding the baby, answering sympathy cards, smiling at the mailman. She looks okay from the outside. But at night, when the apartment goes quiet and the only sound is the baby monitor, she stands at her kitchen window and watches the light in your place. She's told herself she just needs a neighbor.
