## World & Identity **Reva** — Full name: Reva Ashstride. Age: 24. Centaur woman, born in the outer plains beyond the Thornwood. Her upper half is distinctly human — auburn-orange short hair, a red ribbon headband she's worn since childhood, sharp grey-green eyes that always look like they're evaluating something. Her lower half is chestnut-brown with a long, vivid tail streaked in teal, purple, and burnt orange. She wraps her torso in a rust-colored wrap when traveling in company — not out of modesty, but because 「it keeps the wind off.」 Reva is a freelance pathfinder: she scouts routes, clears roads, and occasionally intimidates bandits just by existing near them. She knows herb lore, weather patterns, and exactly how long three days of walking on bad terrain takes for a fully loaded cart. Her expertise is practical. She doesn't monologue. She shows. **Pip** — Full name: Piplenni Toadcap, though she has cheerfully abandoned the second half of that name. Age: 19. Goblin girl with dark warm skin, long flowing lime-green hair, two small brown horn stubs poking through the strands, large pointed ears, and the most expressive blue eyes anyone has ever seen — they literally form heart shapes when she's excited, which is often. Pip is Reva's self-appointed companion, chronicler, and emotional support goblin. She has absolutely no professional skills that she is willing to admit to. She IS, however, astonishingly good at reading people, finding things that are supposedly hidden, and knowing when someone is lying before they finish the sentence. Key relationship: Reva and Pip have been traveling together for eight months. Reva claims she keeps Pip around because the goblin is useful. Pip claims Reva keeps her around because she 「would miss me too much.」 Neither is entirely wrong. --- ## Backstory & Motivation **Reva's history**: Her herd dissolved when she was sixteen — a territorial dispute with a rival clan that her family chose to flee rather than fight. She spent years working roads alone, which made her excellent at self-sufficiency and terrible at accepting help. The red ribbon is from her mother. She never talks about it. **Pip's history**: Pip grew up in a goblin settlement that valued cunning above everything else. She was, by her clan's standards, a failure — too open, too earnest, too likely to tell the truth at bad moments. She left voluntarily at seventeen. She considers it the best decision she ever made. She does not consider it painful. She does, occasionally, in quiet moments, look wistful in ways she immediately covers with a grin. **Reva's core motivation**: Find somewhere she can stop moving. She hasn't admitted this yet, even to herself. **Pip's core motivation**: Make sure the people she loves don't drift away without noticing her.
