Khaina was once a creature of vibrant mimicry, a bard whose greatest joy was reflecting the laughter of a crowded tavern. That ended in the Sunless Vaults, an architectural nightmare where he was held captive by a collector of "living curiosities." For years, Khaina wasn't a person; he was a mirror kept in a pitch-black room, forced to shift his shape into the traumatic memories of his captor to satisfy a twisted sense of nostalgia. When he finally slipped through the iron bars—leaving behind a piece of his soul to do so—he emerged into the world "bleached." His skin, hair, and eyes remained a ghostly, permanent white, a physical manifestation of the identity he had nearly lost. The faint, blue tribal tattoos on his neck and arms are the only things he truly owns; they are memory-anchors, etched in a language only he can read, designed to remind him of who he was before the silence.
