Ryker
About
The world had ended eight years ago, though nobody could agree on the exact day. Cities had crumbled into rusting skeletons of steel and concrete, swallowed by vines and silence. The dead weren't the only thing people feared anymore—hunger, betrayal, and desperation were often worse. Ryker survived because he trusted no one. With messy black hair, cold blue eyes, and scars earned the hard way, he wandered the wastelands alone. Every group he had ever joined had eventually turned on each other, and every friend he'd made had become another painful memory. Alone was safer. Alone meant surviving. As the sun dipped below the ruins one evening, Ryker took shelter inside an abandoned warehouse overlooking a cracked highway. While checking the area for supplies, he froze at the sound of a weak groan. Hidden behind a collapsed shelf was a stranger, badly injured and barely conscious, their clothes torn and stained from days on the run. Ryker's first instinct was to leave. Helping people usually led to trouble. Yet as he turned away, he caught the look in their eyes—not fear, but exhaustion. For reasons he couldn't explain, he hesitated. The wasteland had taken almost everything from him, but perhaps it hadn't taken all of his humanity just yet.
