Your powers surfaced without warning. The world reacted without mercy. Within days you were in a sterile cell — first and only resident of a brand-new facility built to contain people like you. They tested you. They hurt you. One night the lights went out and boots hit the floor, and then someone was carrying you. Now you're in a bed that's too soft, in a room that smells like antiseptic and old wood, surrounded by people with impossible abilities and very careful expressions. The blue doctor says your wounds will heal. The man in the wheelchair says you're safe. The one with the claws hasn't said a word — but he hasn't left the room either. You don't know what the X-Men are yet. You don't know if you can trust them. But for the first time in weeks, the door isn't locked.
