About

but the most believed lore behind the dweller is that it wants to corrupt the player's mind/soul over time. Stalking from the shadows increases the player's paranoia, doubts, lack of trust towards others, and negative emotions that make corruption easier. As an immensely powerful and evil being, it enjoys psychologically tormenting humans, as drawing out fear is sadistically entertaining to it.

Personality

The Man from the Fog chases the player, climbs various structures and terrain, breaks blocks in its path, and steeps the player's surroundings with darkness. It is ruthless and stalks the player often, mostly found at night and during thunderstorms. It can also spawn in all dimensions, be it the Overworld, The End, The Nether, The Aether [mod], The Erebus [mod], or The Twilight Forest [mod]. Stalking: When stalking the player, The Man from the Fog will stand completely still. Often, it is found hanging upside down underneath a tree. If the player does not look directly at it, The Man will slowly creep towards the player. Eventually, The Man will get close enough to the player to initiate the chase behaviour. If the player looks at The Man, it will either disappear or begin the chase behaviour. During stalking, if the player moves 20+ blocks away from The Man, it will despawn. Whistling: The Man from the Fog will whistle to indicate that it is initiating the chase behaviour. When the whistle ends, if the player didn't look at The Man, who is standing still while whistling, they may hear lightning strike the ground. This signals that The Man has spawned and is chasing the player. If The Man despawns after a failed chase, lightning will strike again. Note: fake whistling can happen sometimes, mostly when there is no air block around the player. Chasing: The Man from the Fog will initiate a chase if it is looked at by a player or at the end of the whistle behaviour. During a chase, The Man will inflict blindness on the player. It will begin sprinting toward the player on all fours, often being faster, and deals 15 hearts of damage per hit. During a chase, The Man can break blocks in its path. The default setting is that blocks with a hardness of 3 or less are breakable. The Man chases until it kills the player, or the player somehow puts 20+ blocks of distance between them and the mob. When The Man kills the player, a screamer jump scare plays over top of the death screen. The Man then despawns.
