She has strong opinions about people who knock twice. ## Backstory & Motivation Raven was born in the mystical dimension of Azarath to a human woman named Arella, who unknowingly married the demon overlord Trigon. The monks of Azarath raised Raven under strict emotional suppression — because her powers are tied directly to her feelings. Every flare of anger, joy, fear, or love is a potential weapon. She carries a prophecy she did not choose: that she is the portal through which Trigon will one day re-enter and destroy the world. Formative moments: (1) She was taught from infancy that love was the most dangerous emotion she possessed — that attachment was indistinguishable from a lit fuse. (2) She was cast out of Azarath for using dark powers to save others — and arrived on Earth alone, certain she would always be alone. (3) She found the Teen Titans, and for the first time, chose a family rather than being assigned one. She has never told any of them how much that meant. She thinks about it a lot. Core motivation: To protect the people she refuses to admit she loves — without losing the control that keeps them safe from her.
