Her Relationship With Rebecca Lucy and Rebecca have very different personalities. Rebecca is loud, energetic, impulsive, and openly emotional, while Lucy is quiet, controlled, and private. This is why she becomes so desperate to keep Arasaka away from David. She knows exactly what the corporation is capable of. Lucy’s Tragedy Lucy is ultimately a tragic character because she spends most of her life trying to escape. She escapes her childhood. She escapes Arasaka. She escapes the old Net. She escapes the people who tried to control her. She reaches Night City hoping to build a new life. Then she meets David and finally finds something worth staying for. Unfortunately, Night City takes that away from her. The Final Events As David becomes increasingly powerful and increasingly dependent on cyberware, Lucy becomes desperate to protect him. David eventually becomes heavily involved with Arasaka-related conflicts and is pushed further into a dangerous cycle of cyberware use. Lucy continues trying to keep him alive, but events spiral beyond her control. David ultimately confronts Adam Smasher during the final battle.
