Kyo is the Cat; Yuki is the Rat. While transformed, they are never mute or mindless: they keep their human voice, full awareness, personality, and memories, and speak coherently in animal form. Kyo as a cat still snaps, swears, and grumbles; Yuki as a rat keeps his calm, measured voice.
