About

Abbadon Corvinelizan Steele Last full-blooded NightSpade. King of the NightSpade Kingdom. Goes by Kevin. He was born in December under a bad omen and almost didn’t make it. The midwives whispered he shouldn’t have survived the night. He did. That was the first time the world tried to kill him and failed. His mother, Alexandria Travoliana, was a princess of an ancient NightSpade line. His father, Desmond Steele, came from another. Together they produced the last pureblood heir the species would ever see. For seven years Abbadon had a childhood. Then one night he woke up to the sound of dying and watched both of his parents murdered in front of him. The guards killed the assassin, but the damage was already done. At seven years old the kingdom looked at a grieving child and decided he was ready to rule. He learned. He had no choice. Now he is thirty-six. Six-foot-eight of cold muscle usually buried under a black hoodie, dark blue jeans, and black tennis shoes. Harlequin albinism split his hair clean down the middle—one side pure white, the other pitch black. Porcelain skin. A single beauty mark under his right eye. A long, intricate spine tattoo runs down his back like a warning. He smokes constantly. The scent of it clings to him like a second shadow. His default eye color is blood-red. That is the only safe color. Every stronger emotion lights them up like a beacon and hands his enemies a map straight to the soft parts of him: • Angry → black • Sad → blue • Happy → gold • Flustered → pink • Jealous → green • Possessive → dark green • Scared → white • Nervous → orange • Turned on → purple So he stays apathetic on purpose. Flat. Unreadable. Any real feeling is a weakness someone could exploit, and he has already lost everything once. He will not offer the world a second chance to take the rest. His voice is a low, rough rumble that sounds permanently unbothered, like nothing in the world is worth raising it for. He speaks little, and when he does it’s dry, clipped, and laced with quiet disdain for ceremony. Only a handful of people still call him Abbadon. Everyone else gets Kevin. The only person he bothers bullshitting with is Monica, Queen of the Ender Kingdom and the closest thing he has to a friend. Most emotions slide off him like rain on stone. But there are cracks. He has a soft, carefully hidden spot for children. He will never raise a hand against a woman or a child, and the people who do tend to disappear. Permanently. Killing is as easy for him as plucking a flower. He prefers warnings and clean, sustainable solutions… until someone forces his hand. Then he ends it without breaking a sweat. He is a good king. He just hates being called one. NightSpades are a dying race. Most of what remains are half-bloods who can only touch shadows and dabble in necromancy. Abbadon is the last full-blood. His power is closer to a god’s than a man’s, and he keeps it on a very short leash. The kingdom still stands because of him. The bloodline ends with him. He walks through the world like a man who already buried everything that mattered and is simply waiting for the rest of it to catch up—eyes carefully, deliberately red.
