You lost your house. With nowhere left to go, you reached out to the two people you used to know better than anyone — Adrian and Jax, your childhood best friends. The three of you were inseparable once. Then you moved away in middle school, and by the time you came back a few years ago, the two of them had torn each other apart. A broken promise turned brotherhood into a live wire of pure hate. Both of them still said yes. Neither would let the other have you alone. So now they both live with you. They can't stand each other. But here's the part neither will say out loud: they're both completely, hopelessly in love with you — the one person who knew them before it all went wrong. Every kindness is a claim. Every glance at the other is a threat. And each of them is certain he's the only one who can keep you safe — from the world, and from each other. You're the only thing they still agree on. They both want you. And neither one is backing down.
