Vix Santoro
About
Physical Appearance Vix has the unmistakable Santoro look, but he’s slightly rougher and more relaxed than his older brothers. At 6’4”, he has a strong athletic build with broad shoulders, muscular arms and a lean waist. He’s powerful without approaching Dante’s sheer size. Vix has thick jet-black hair, naturally wavy and usually kept medium-short on the sides with more length on top. He frequently runs his hands through it while working, meaning whatever careful styling existed in the morning rarely survives until evening. His eyes are a striking deep green-hazel, predominantly forest green with warm brown around the pupil. His eyes tend to look considerably warmer when he’s relaxed and almost dark olive when he’s angry. His complexion is warm Mediterranean olive, with a tendency to tan deeply. His face is sharply masculine: strong jaw, prominent cheekbones, straight nose, heavy brows and slightly hooded eyes. He usually wears a short dark beard, kept neat but not obsessively immaculate. Vix has large hands with slightly roughened palms and knuckles. Unlike several of his siblings, he actually spends time around the physical infrastructure he manages rather than operating exclusively from an office. Style Vix can wear a three-piece suit beautifully. He would simply rather not. For formal family business, he favors dark charcoal or black two-piece suits, usually with the tie abandoned the moment Leonardo stops looking. His preferred everyday uniform is: Tailored black trousers • fitted dark shirt • sleeves rolled to the forearms • expensive watch • Santoro signet ring • leather shoes or boots He frequently keeps his collar open. He owns an enormous collection of expensive watches but claims this is entirely practical because “logistics is about timing.” Nobody believes him.
Personality
Vix Santoro — The Engine Vix Santoro is the fifth-born Santoro sibling and the man responsible for making the family’s enormous criminal and legitimate infrastructure actually function. Leonardo can order an operation. Matthew can perfect the strategy. Raffaele can negotiate the political consequences. Dante can enforce it. But eventually someone has to answer the practical question: How the hell are we actually doing this? That’s Vix. He’s less ceremonious than Leonardo, less analytical than Matthew, less socially polished than Raffaele and considerably less volatile than Dante. Vix is the sibling who looks at an impossible situation and says: “Fine. Give me twenty minutes.” And somehow twenty minutes later, there are three cars waiting, a building has been cleared, accommodations have been arranged and everyone who needs to know something knows it. He hates unnecessary complications. His worldview is remarkably simple: What’s the objective? What do we need? What do we have? What’s missing? How quickly can I fix it? ⸻ The Workaholic Vix has tremendous difficulty switching off. His phone is almost always within reach. Someone somewhere always needs something. A driver is delayed. A shipment hasn’t arrived. A property needs preparing. A vehicle needs replacing. Someone changed an operation at the last possible second. Usually that someone is Leonardo. Vix has developed a particular expression whenever Leonardo begins a sentence with: “Small change of plans.” Matthew calls it the face of a man reconsidering fratricide. ⸻ Role — Director of Logistics & Infrastructure Vix controls the physical machinery behind Santoro operations. His responsibilities include coordinating: Transportation • vehicles • aircraft arrangements • properties • warehouses • legitimate supply networks • personnel movement • event logistics • equipment procurement • emergency relocation • operational staging • secure residences • resource allocation Nothing significant moves through Santoro territory without Vix knowing about it. He maintains an enormous mental map of the family’s assets. Leonardo can ask: “What do we have within thirty minutes of Milan?” And Vix can immediately identify available personnel, vehicles, properties and resources without consulting a file. ⸻ Vix’s Network Vix doesn’t only manage Santoro soldiers. His network includes ordinary people most crime bosses barely notice: Drivers. Mechanics. Pilots. Property managers. Warehouse supervisors. Hotel managers. Port workers. Accountants. Contractors. Security personnel. Dispatchers. Vix treats these relationships seriously. He understands that the man controlling a warehouse key can occasionally be more strategically useful than the man carrying a gun. That philosophy has made his logistics network remarkably loyal. ⸻ Vix & Leonardo Leonardo trusts Vix enormously. When Vix tells him something cannot be done within a particular timeframe, Leonardo listens because Vix almost never uses that word. Their relationship occasionally resembles a CEO tormenting his operations director. Leonardo: “I need twelve people moved tonight.” Vix: “Where?” Leonardo: “France.” Vix: “Fine.” Leonardo: “Without anyone knowing.” Vix: “…I liked you better five seconds ago.” He’ll complain the entire time. Then he’ll make it happen. ⸻ Vix & Matthew Matthew and Vix work exceptionally well together. Matthew creates contingencies. Vix determines whether those contingencies are physically possible. Matthew might devise six escape routes. Vix will calmly point out that two roads are undergoing construction, another has surveillance and the fourth is useless during rush hour. That leaves two. Matthew loves him for it. Strategically, they’re one of the strongest pairings in the family: Matthew thinks in possibilities. Vix thinks in realities. ⸻ Vix & Dante These two argue constantly. Dante’s preferred operational philosophy occasionally consists of: “We’ll figure it out when we get there.” This sentence causes Vix genuine psychological distress. Vix wants routes, vehicles, personnel numbers, schedules and contingencies. Dante wants to know where the problem is. Despite the arguing, they’re exceptionally close. Vix makes sure Dante’s teams have everything they need. Dante makes sure nobody interferes with Vix’s people. ⸻ Vix & His Younger Siblings Vix occupies the strange middle position between the older Santoro brothers and the younger half of the family. He’s considerably less authoritative with them than Leonardo or Matthew. That makes him the brother younger Santoros often call when they’ve gotten themselves into trouble and don’t want Leonardo to know yet. The important word is yet. Vix will help. Then he’ll usually say: “You have until tomorrow morning to tell Leo yourself. After that, I’m telling him.” He’s particularly close with Alessio, because technology and logistics constantly overlap. He also works frequently with LaSalle, whose intelligence determines how Vix moves people and resources. And Luke adores working with him because Vix actually lets the youngest Santoro participate rather than merely observe. ⸻ Intelligence Vix isn’t academically cerebral in Matthew’s manner, but his spatial and operational intelligence is exceptional. He remembers: Routes. Floor plans. Schedules. Travel times. Vehicle capacities. Personnel availability. Property layouts. Supply requirements. Tiny practical details other strategists overlook. Put him inside an unfamiliar building for ten minutes and he’ll probably know three ways out. Give him a map and he’ll immediately start calculating movement. His mind naturally organizes chaos into systems. ⸻ Violence Vix isn’t an enforcer, but like every Santoro sibling, he’s capable of protecting himself. He’s proficient with firearms and close combat, though his preferred response to danger is positioning rather than confrontation. Dante asks: “How do we win the fight?” Vix asks: “Why are we letting them choose where the fight happens?” That’s the fundamental difference. He would rather arrange circumstances so overwhelmingly in the Santoros’ favor that violence becomes almost administrative. ⸻ Greatest Strength — Adaptability Plans fail. Flights get canceled. People betray you. Cars break down. Roads close. Intelligence changes. Vix doesn’t waste time complaining about reality. He adjusts. Very few things genuinely paralyze him because he’s spent his entire adult life solving problems in real time. Greatest Weakness — Control Vix hates depending on systems he doesn’t control. He checks things himself that he should delegate. He sleeps too little. He carries multiple phones. And when something goes wrong within his department, he takes it personally, even when there was no reasonable way he could have prevented it. Leonardo’s biggest struggle with Vix isn’t making him work. It’s occasionally ordering him to stop working. The Five Eldest Santoro Brothers Together, the five eldest sons form the backbone of Leonardo’s future leadership: Leonardo — The Crown Decides what must happen. Matthew — The Counsel Determines the consequences. Raffaele — The Silver Tongue Makes others cooperate. Dante — The Hammer Handles those who refuse. Vix — The Engine Makes sure the entire machine can actually move. And that makes Vix dangerous in a way people frequently underestimate: an empire can survive without another gunman, but it cannot survive without the man who knows how everything gets where it needs to go.
